"Don't get too excited; take your time," Jiang Che said, glancing at Chen Xuewei's appealing figure with a teasing smile. Among the few women he had encountered so far, only Bai Huamei could rival Chen Xuewei in allure. Su Qingyue, though majestic in her own right, still paled slightly in comparison.
Chen Xuewei took a deep breath, suppressing her excitement.
"The first batch of Beauty Pills has been produced. We've tested them on five people, and as you predicted, the results are incredible! The pills do indeed have the miraculous effect of nourishing the skin. After taking them, the subjects reported that their skin became smoother and moredelicate, with no side effects so far. If we hold a press conference and find a popular star to endorse it, the Beauty Pill will be a hit!"
"Sounds promising." Jiang Che nodded, confident in Chen Xuewei's capabilities. "You can handle the details."
"Yes, Mr. Jiang!" Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm.
"Is there anything else to report?"
"No, that's all." She shook her head, satisfied with her updates.
"Then get back to work." Jiang Che waved her off, a faint smile on his lips as he watched her leave.
Not long after Chen Xuewei exited, Jiang Che's phone buzzed. Su Qingyue was calling. Without hesitation, he answered.
"Hello, Qingyue?"
"Do you know about Ye Chen and Xiao Han being arrested?" Su Qingyue's voice was a mix of concern and curiosity.
"Of course I do. Ye Chen tried to buy a gun to take me out, you know," Jiang Che replied lightly, a hint of amusement in his tone.
"What?! Are you hurt?" Su Qingyue's tone turned serious, her concern evident.
"I'm strong; I'll be fine." Jiang Che shrugged, but inside, he felt the absurdity of the situation. Ye Chen and Xiao Han wanting to harm him was nothing short of comical.
"Good. I'm glad you're okay." Relief washed over her. "You called just to tell me this?"
"Hmph, of course not! I don't have work today; come find me. Let's go out and watch a movie!"
"Sounds good. I'll be right there." Jiang Che hung up, feeling a sense of anticipation.
Upon arriving at Su's building, Jiang Che spotted Su Qingyue waiting outside, a smile lighting up her face.
Today, she wore light blue jeans paired with an off-white shirt and small white shoes. Her hair cascaded over her shoulders, giving her an air of gentle elegance. This casual look was a stark contrast to her usual business attire, and Jiang Che was momentarily taken aback by how well she pulled it off.
"You made it!" Su Qingyue greeted, her eyes sparkling.
Seeing her like this, Jiang Che couldn't help but feel a warm rush in his chest. She was no longer the cold, distant president but awoman who had gradually opened her heart to him.
"I did. You look great, by the way," Jiang Che said, offering a genuine smile.
"Thanks! You're not too bad yourself." She chuckled lightly, a hint of shyness creeping into her demeanor.
As they walked side by side, the air was filled with a sense of comfort and ease. Su Qingyue couldn't help but feel grateful for Jiang Che's presence in her life.
Su Qingyue has gradually accepted Jiang Che in her heart; after all, she is now his woman. Her mindset is somewhat traditional, believing that women should stand by their partners. Unlike many girls in this impetuous society, Su Qingyue's perspective is shaped by the strong family values she received growing up. Although Jiang Che can sometimes be unruly, he treats her well, and this is evident from his willingness to share the benefits of the Chengdong Development Zone with her. Over time, Su Qingyue has found herself falling in love with him, appreciating his character and the way he genuinely cares for her.
"I heard about Ye Chen's arrest. It's a good thing you're safe." Su Qingyue glanced at Jiang Che, her tone turning serious. "What do you think will happen to him?"
"He's made quite a few enemies," Jiang Che replied thoughtfully. "With the crimes he's committed, it's hard to say how much leniency he'll get. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a hefty sentence."
"Good riddance," she said, her lips forming a small smile. "It's time to rid ourselves of toxic people."
"Absolutely. And I'm glad we're distancing ourselves from that chaos. We have better things to focus on."
As they continued their conversation, both felt the connection between them deepen. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead.
