Chapter 178 - Chapter 178: Huang Class 2’s Wu Gan gege

Chapter 178: Huang Class 2's Wu Gan gege

As countless gazes locked onto the battlefield, Instructor Ruo Lin couldn't help but feel a bead of cold sweat trickling down her forehead. Her hands clenched tightly as she scanned the surroundings, trying to spot that elusive figure yet he was nowhere to be found.

"Wu Gan? That coward doesn't even dare show himself. He's worthless!"

On one of the prime viewing platforms, a young man dressed in white robes shook his head and scoffed.

"Someone like him isn't worthy of Xun'er. A girl as outstanding as Xun'er only I am fit for her!"

The white robed young man was none other than Bai Shan the one who had encountered Xun'er at the mountain's base that day.

A rising star in Jia Nan Academy, his reputation rivaled even slightly surpassed Xun'er's.

"Sorry, but Xun'er is already my woman. She's mine, and you? You're nothing."

A sudden voice rang out behind Bai Shan, causing his pupils to shrink.

His hair stood on end as an uneasy chill crept down his spine.

"Who's there?!"

He spun around hastily.

But…

There was no one.

That voice it felt so real.

Yet…

When he turned to look at his followers, they seemed completely oblivious, staring at him in confusion.

Bai Shan: …Was I just hearing things? But why did it feel so real?

"Tch, and this is the guy that Xiao Xun'er keeps talking about? What a coward! He's just a turtle hiding in its shell! If she followed someone like him, she'd be better off with me!"

"Men are all the same filthy beasts who only think with their lower halves. Hmph!"

On another viewing platform, a red clad girl leaned lazily against an iron railing, her arms crossed in front of her ample chest.

Her curves were accentuated by the straight iron bar behind her, making her figure even more tantalizing.

She looked at the empty arena with a playful smirk.

Red lips curled, she sneered disdainfully.

"Sit properly, you little troublemaker! You're acting way too unruly in public where's your dignity?"

Beside her, an elderly man with white hair frowned and huffed, his beard trembling with disapproval.

The red clad girl rolled her eyes at him and huffed.

"Hmph! And you call yourself the Vice Dean of the Outer Academy? If it were me, I'd have kicked that Wu Gan out of the academy ages ago! What kind of school lets students take a leave of absence?"

The old man sighed helplessly.

"Xun'er insisted on protecting that kid. We had no choice but to compromise."

"Pfft! Sounds like a lousy excuse to me!" she scoffed.

"No, he's not making excuses. Sorry, I'm late."

A calm voice rang out from above.

The entire audience froze.

All eyes turned toward the source of the voice.

Up above, standing at the very peak of the viewing platform, was a handsome young man in white robes.

His presence was like that of a king surveying his domain.

A ruler standing above all.

But…

Wu Tian couldn't help but glance downward and sigh.

The red clad girl's neckline was too open.

From his angle… he could see right into the "forbidden valley."

"This… isn't good."

He should probably remind her later to dress more modestly.

Without another word, he dove from the platform.

"Whoosh !"

A sharp sonic boom cut through the air, drawing every gaze toward him.

A white figure plummeted from the sky, landing with a thunderous crash.

The impact shattered the hard stone floor, sending cracks sprawling outward in every direction.

The young spear wielding warrior standing opposite Wu Tian narrowed his eyes.

His expression turned serious.

"You're Wu Gan?"

From the special viewing platform, Xun'er's golden eyes sparkled with excitement.

Her delicate cheeks flushed as she murmured:

"Wu Gan gege is so handsome~"

"…"

Instructor Ruo Lin, Xiao Yu, and the other women stiffened.

Wait, what?

This was Xun'er the elegant, refined, and unshakably composed young lady.

So why…

Why was she suddenly acting like all the men who drooled over her?!

Was Wu Gan really that amazing?

Under countless watchful eyes, soft footsteps echoed across the arena.

The white robed young man walked forward, hands clasped behind his back, heading straight for Xue Beng.

Each step felt like it was treading on everyone's hearts.

An invisible pressure settled over them.

Even the white haired elder on the platform furrowed his brows.

Was it just his imagination?

Or was this white robed youth… actually dangerous?

Even without releasing any Dou Qi, he exuded an unsettling aura.

"Huang Class 2, Wu Gan. I'm not too late, am I?"

Wu Gan stepped forward, looking at the referee.

His voice was neither loud nor soft.

Yet…

The entire arena fell silent.

"Wow~ So that's the Wu Gan gege that Xun'er always talks about? He's so handsome! So cool!"

"As expected! If someone like Xun'er admires him, he must be special!"

"Xiao Yu jie, is that really him?"

Beside Xiao Yu, a young girl asked curiously.

Xiao Yu's gaze never left Wu Gan as she nodded slightly.

"Indeed. Not only is he handsome, but he's also incredibly strong. Back then…"

"Ahem."

Instructor Ruo Lin cleared her throat a clear warning.

She did not want these students learning about how Wu Gan had utterly crushed her in battle.

"Hmph! So what? Just because he trained outside doesn't mean he can match us! We've all advanced an entire level this past month!"

The young girls giggled and chattered.

Wu Tian sighed inwardly.

So this was what girls talked about in their free time…

Men.

While he was flattered, could they at least wait until after he won the match to discuss him?

"Ugh… they keep calling me handsome. This is such a burden."

He turned his attention to Xue Beng, a Seven Star Dou Shi.

"...This guy is my opponent? Not a punching bag?"

Well…

Technically, a punching bag takes hits well.

Time to see how much he could endure.

"Wu Gan! I will defeat you in front of Xun'er! A girl as exceptional as her you don't deserve her!"

Xue Beng's eyes burned with hatred and determination.

Wu Tian could only sigh.

These ignorant boys and their delusions…

If this weren't an academy, they'd all be dead a hundred times over.

Even Xun'er's shadow guard, Ling Ying, wouldn't let them live.

"Can we start now?"

Wu Tian looked at the referees impatiently.

They exchanged glances and nodded.

Xue Beng roared, spear trembling as his Dou Qi surged.

A sharp, cutting force shot toward Wu Tian.

Wu Tian yawned.

Lifting his hand casually, he waved.

Xue Beng didn't even have time to react before a violent gust sent him flying

Straight toward Bai Shan.

Bai Shan's eyes widened in horror.

"OH SH*T WHY IS HE FLYING AT ME?!"
