Belle nodded her head at his words. "I didn't mean to hurt you..."
"I understand that now, my love. You didn't mean it. But don't do that again. You're all I have as a family, and all I need in my life. Don't push me back into darkness," he murmured, his voice deep and husky as he pressed his lips to her skin, meaning every word he spoke.
She had brightened his days from the moment he met her, and she had shown him a new world the day she returned his heart to him. He had trusted her when he had never trusted anyone before.
