Hours back in the establishment, while the wardens and slaves stood around the yard waiting for the wagons to return, Belle was trying to push the little life out of her womb. She had tried to prolong the labor and to wait for Rohan to come, as Kuhn had returned to tell her he had delivered the message and that her son had been able to see him and tell Rohan the words he said.
Belle had been so glad and knew for certain that Rohan would be here, but then, knowing this was the west border which was far away from their castle, she knew he wouldn't come on time, wings or no wings. It would take a bit of time for him to reach, and with the contractions being so hard and deep that her body was naturally pushing the baby lower on its own, Belle felt her strength slipping.
