Chapter 31 - Fall of the wilsons

Theron's POV

No matter how hard we tried, my team couldn't find a single loophole. Wherever we started, we hit a dead end. No improvement. No progress.

It was as if someone had scrubbed every possible trace clean. I'd gone over the files, surveillance logs, and even our private networks twice..but nothing. Not even a flicker of evidence I could work with.

My patience was wearing thinner by the second.

That Theodore bastard. He had promised to bring in someone capable, someone who could handle this mess. But after that single conversation, he just vanished.

No updates.

No callback.

No message.

Not even a damn breadcrumb.

I wasn't going to chase him. I don't beg. Especially not people who think they're smarter than me.

But I had to admit...where the hell did he find that cyber wizard?

As far as I knew, Theodore was only dabbling in restaurants. I'd also heard he had a stake in some real estate firm..don't know the name, and honestly, don't care. We never exactly got along. His presence always felt like a challenge, a clash of egos waiting to explode.

Even when he was there to help me, even when he offered something useful, it always felt... strained. Like there was this unspoken resentment simmering between us. Sometimes, I even wondered if he outright hated me. And for what? I've never wronged him.

Whatever.

Right now, I had bigger things to deal with.

I pressed the intercom button.

"Jane, bring John to my office. Both of you."

A few minutes later, the door opened and John walked in, holding a tablet.

"Boss," he said with a half-grin, "want to see what's happening inside the conference room?"

He handed me the tablet. The hidden camera was already active. High-definition, 4K...every twitch, every expression, every lie caught in perfect detail.

"Put Isabella in there. With her father. I want to know if I can catch anything between them...any slip, any panic."

"Yes, Boss," John nodded and exited.

Within minutes, a bodyguard shoved Isabella into the soundproof conference room. His voice echoed as he warned them, "Don't try anything funny just because there's no visible surveillance."

I smirked.

Harold didn't even blink until the door closed.

And the moment it did..

SLAP.

The sound echoed even through the speaker. Isabella crashed to the ground like a ragdoll.

"D-Dad…" she whimpered, holding her cheek.

Whoa.

Old bastard still had lightning reflexes.

"How many times," Harold growled, voice laced with fury, "have I warned you not to cross paths with Aurora? And yet, not only did you defy me....you sabotaged everything I built. Every single step I took to gain control on the board, you've undone it all!"

His voice thundered. I leaned in, watching intently.

"I told you to lay low and just complete the damn project. I even went so far as to cover your tracks. I deleted the mail from John's laptop. I cleared the surveillance footage myself. And this is how you repay me, you ungrateful brat?"

That's news.

I looked at John...he already looked like he'd just witnessed hell.

I thought I was changing this company for the better. I really believed I was cleaning up the mess old money left behind. But who would've thought… these old bastards have roots everywhere. Even in places I thought were under my full control.

"D-Dad!" she cried again.

"Shut your mouth!" he barked. "You never learn. Just like your mother. That woman drugged me and climbed into my bed just to get into high society."

I raised a brow.

Now that's a line I didn't expect.

"I thought you were smarter. That you could survive in this world where only the ruthless rise. But you're just like her...greedy, manipulative, shallow. Birds of a feather."

Isabella suddenly snapped.

"How dare you say that!" she shouted, her voice cracking. "If only you had supported me, do you think anyone would've dared to treat me like this? That bitch Aurora would've never dared to humiliate me in front of everyone if you had my back!"

She was spiraling now, throwing every ounce of pain and venom into her words.

"If only my plan had worked, she would've been dead already! I didn't expect her to be so quick-witted, so calculating!"

She spat the words without even breathing.

SLAP.

THUD.

She hit the ground again.

I shook my head. "Was this woman even born with a brain?"

John let out a muffled chuckle, trying not to laugh too loud.

"When will you get it through your thick skull?" Harold shouted, nearly unhinged. "Aurora is everything you are not...a hundred, no, a million times more than you will ever be. Did you think she inherited her position? No. She built it from nothing. Brick by brick. She crafted her empire with her own two hands while surrounded by snakes, liars, and backstabbers. And she survived."

He was panting now, eyes wild.

"And now she's revealed everything to Theron. You've exposed us completely. Do you think there's still a way out of this?"

He gritted his teeth. "Sometimes I wonder how you even came from me. I wish you'd just disappear from this world."

"Dad… I didn't expect this. I'm sorry…" she whispered, crying.

"Don't start your drama now. Didn't you hear what Aurora said? Theron never gives second chances. Definitely not to traitors. And if the Wilson family collapses… I will drag you and your mother to the streets."

His voice dropped, low and venomous.

"I'll make sure you're so cornered, so helpless, the only way you can survive is by selling your filthy bodies."

Isabella froze, slumped in silence, her hands shaking.

I leaned back in my chair.

Finally.

I had it.

Evidence.

With this, I could throw Harold and Isabella out of the company for now. There would be no coming back from this. Their betrayal, their schemes...all of it caught on record.

As for destroying the Wilson family entirely… I could wait. I didn't need to rush. I would enjoy it...watching them fall, piece by piece, until there was nothing left.

I smirked again, satisfied.

But one thing still nagged at me.

Who was guiding them behind the scenes?

I didn't think Damian was directly involved. He's sly, but not this subtle.

There was someone else pulling strings.

And deep down, I knew exactly who had the answer.

But the real question was...how could I face her now, after everything that happened today?

The humiliation I endured… it burned under my skin.

And it was all because of these good-for-nothing Wilsons.

I clenched my fists.

I want to end their lives with my own hand..
