Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: Urgent Measures

Chapter 101: Urgent Measures

In the video.

"Greetings, Grand Worshiper." Sea Witch bowed slightly toward Bo Saixi and said, "I failed to properly carry out the guidance of Lord Sea God. Please punish me, Grand Worshiper."

Bo Saixi smiled faintly, and it seemed as if the Sea Within the Sea rippled in harmony with her expression. "This is not your fault. Even I am witnessing such a situation for the first time."

Her gaze shifted toward Neptune, focusing on the golden trident imprint on his forehead. "Young man, I have waited for over a hundred years. Finally, in my twilight years, I have met you."

"Waited for me? The First Trial of the Sea God?"

Neptune looked at Bo Saixi, puzzled. "Does this mean that as long as I pass the trial, I will inherit the Sea God's position?"

"That is correct."

Bo Saixi did not hide anything and directly confirmed, "Originally, according to the formal process, you would need to complete nine life and death trials and retrieve the Heart of the Sea God, which is far away on the mainland. This process would take over a hundred years before you could pass the trials. However, given the current catastrophe devastating the ocean and the countless lives being lost, urgent times call for urgent measures. Lord Sea God could not bear to see the creatures of the sea suffer such a calamity, so he has made an exception transforming your Nine Trials into a single Ultimate Trial."

[Looks like this Sea God knows how to adapt…]

[Nine Trials turned into One? That's blatant favoritism!]

[The original process would have taken over a century, but now he might become a god in no time.]

[Can't tell if he's lucky or unlucky…]

A wave of comments flooded the chat.

Meanwhile, in the Divine Realm

At this moment, the five God Kings, who were observing the broadcast through their divine senses linked to the five deities who had secretly infiltrated the Douluo Continent, were watching the future video in real time.

Seeing that Sea God openly bent the rules for his successor, the God of Asura, who was responsible for enforcing divine law, couldn't help but snort coldly. "Hmph, this Sea God dares to violate the Divine Realm's laws and reduce a full Nine Trial inheritance into just one? Looks like he needs to be properly disciplined!"

"You shouldn't judge so hastily," said the Goddess of Life, the most gentle among the Five God Kings, as she spoke up in Sea God's defense.

"Sea God acted out of necessity. I believe we should give him some leeway. After all, this isn't for personal gain he's doing this for the survival of the ocean's creatures."

"Life is right," added the God of Destruction, her consort. If his wife was speaking in favor of Sea God, then of course, he would support her.

With two God Kings speaking up, the remaining two had no objections.

In the end, the God of Asura merely huffed but didn't argue further.

After all, plenty of deities had bent the rules before even the Five God Kings themselves had done so at times. The only reason they were never punished was simply that no one had the authority to punish them.

Since two God Kings had already spoken in favor of Sea God, there was no need to escalate the matter. Arguing over something this minor was simply not worth it.

Back to the Video

After listening to Bo Saixi's explanation, Neptune closed his eyes briefly to examine the content of his trial within his mind.

When he opened them again, he calmly stated, "**My trial is **to pull out the Sea God's Trident."

"Follow me, then."

Bo Saixi showed no surprise upon hearing this. Instead, she simply turned around and rose into the air, flying into the distance.

Without hesitation, Neptune took off as well, following closely behind her.

Their flight speed was incredibly fast, and in a short period, they had crossed most of Sea God Island, arriving at its core

The Sea God's Temple.

As they approached, Neptune noticed rows of towering stone pillars, each intricately engraved with carvings of marine life mermaids, whales, sea serpents, coral formations essentially, all manner of sea soul beasts and ocean related entities.

Finally, the two landed at the temple's grand entrance.

Without pause, Bo Saixi stepped forward, leading the way inside. Neptune followed, only to find the interior pitch black, with no windows, leaving the grand hall in complete darkness.

It was a vast, open space, devoid of ornamentation or decorations.

The structure could only be described as ancient and solemn, with an air of awe inspiring simplicity.

[Wait, what? This is the Sea God's Temple?]

[So plain…]

[The exterior was impressive, but where's the grand decor?]

[Is the Sea God poor or something?]

[Blasphemy! Land soul masters, do not use your ignorance to judge the will of the Sea God!]

[The temple was designed this way for a reason.]

The chat was filled with mixed reactions some questioning the lack of decoration, while others defended the temple's minimalist design.

Inside the Sea God's Temple, Bo Saixi and Neptune proceeded forward.

The hall contained no unnecessary structures only eight platforms, arranged in a circular pattern.

At the center was a larger platform, rising several meters above the rest.

Due to the darkness, Neptune could barely make out something standing upright at the highest point of the central platform.

It looked like a long staff…

"That is the Sea God's Trident," Bo Saixi said as she gazed toward the central platform.

She continued, "Before you attempt the trial, allow me to tell you the story of the sea. Do you know how vast the ocean is?"

Neptune shook his head. This was beyond his knowledge.

Bo Saixi then began her narration of history.

"The ocean's surface is several times larger than the land. Within this boundless sea, the Deep Ocean is home to far more creatures than the land could ever hold. If these oceanic beings were to lose control and wage endless wars, the chaos would far exceed anything on land."

"Many, many years ago, the sea was exactly that endless chaos. However, as they say, 'Heroes emerge in times of turmoil.' Amidst the countless sea soul masters, one extraordinary genius arose."

"He devoted his entire life to traveling every corner of the ocean. Wielding the Trident, he used his unparalleled strength and peerless charisma to conquer one sea tribe after another."

"For 1,001 years, he fought, united the ocean, and was finally recognized by all sea creatures as the Sea God. Thus, he created an eternal legend."

[1,001 years?! How can a human live that long?]

[Was the Sea God a soul beast?]

[Watch your words!]

[Ignorant fool.]

[When a soul master reaches Titled Douluo, their lifespan increases to 300 years. For every level gained afterward, they gain another 100 years. At Rank 99, a person can live over 1,000 years!]

[So, the original Sea God united the ocean with 99 levels of power before finally ascending to godhood?]

[Wait… If Titled Douluos live at least 300 years, why are all the living ones barely over 100? Where did all the older ones go?]

[That doesn't add up…]

The chat was divided, some accepting this explanation while others questioned its validity.
