Chapter 210: The Evil of This World Tang San
At Shrek Academy, all the teachers and students gathered to watch the video. At first, they had only been watching for entertainment, but when they reached the end, they suddenly realized the greatest villain of all was right beside them.
Dozens of eyes stared directly at Tang San.
His hand instinctively moved toward the storage belt at his waist, ready to pull out a hidden weapon and kill everyone present if necessary.
Though he had been getting along well with these people during his time at Shrek Academy, when it came to his own survival, he would not hesitate to kill them all to prevent them from exposing him.
The atmosphere grew unbearably tense.
No one dared to move.
Finally, Flender, the academy's headmaster, spoke to break the silence.
"Leave, Tang San."
He looked at Tang San, whose killing intent was nearly impossible to conceal, and said, "Go as far as you can while you still have time. Even if we don't turn you in, you've lived here for a long time. Not only do we recognize you, but so do the villagers, the townspeople, and those at the Spirit Battle Arena. You won't be able to hide."
Tang San knew Flender was right.
Even if he killed everyone here, too many people already knew his face. It was impossible to erase all traces of his existence in this place.
The smartest choice now was to flee immediately, change his appearance, and hide far away before it was too late.
Without a word, Tang San slowly stepped backward, inching toward the door. The moment he reached it, he turned and bolted.
But just as he stepped outside, a figure in a black robe appeared before him.
"Father!" he exclaimed in surprise.
"Let's go."
Tang Hao grabbed his son by the collar and disappeared with him in an instant.
This place was no longer safe.
From the moment the public Q&A session broadcasted the video, Tang San had become a public enemy.
He was now a wanted man across the entire world.
If anyone discovered his whereabouts, his only fate… would be a death far worse than execution.
In the video.
Tang San's first appearance was inside Slaughter City the inheritance ground of the Asura God, as well as a prison for criminals.
Any soul master who committed heinous crimes and was hated by the entire world would flee here.
This was a place where no one was allowed to leave.
The only way out was to win 100 battles in the Hell Slaughter Arena and survive the Road of Hell.
Because of this, only a handful of soul masters had managed to escape in thousands of years.
For hundreds of years, Tang San had been hiding here, using the remnants of the Asura God's domain to conceal his aura, even avoiding detection from multiple God Kings.
After all, who would ever suspect that the man who sacrificed Douluo Continent to the Abyss was hiding like a coward in a prison?
So, while the outside world was in turmoil, Slaughter City remained eerily peaceful.
Every now and then, soul masters from the outside world would enter, only to find themselves trapped forever, bringing in news from the outside but never leaving.
And today…
"The wait is over."
"The time has come!"
Tang San's face bore a confident smile as he calmly strolled through the city.
Over the years, as the Abyssal forces continued to erode the world, he the one who initiated the sacrificial ritual had been continuously empowered.
Now, his strength had already reached the level of a God King.
And on top of that…
He had gained the ability to communicate with the Abyss allowing him to summon reinforcements at any time.
The time had finally come to sacrifice this world to the Abyss.
And he would begin with Slaughter City!
Tang San walked slowly through the city he had lived in for hundreds of years.
Around him, a gray domain spread outward, expanding in all directions.
The moment any passerby touched the gray energy, their life force was instantly drained, and they collapsed, lifeless, onto the ground.
The unnatural aura quickly caught the attention of Slaughter City's ruler the Slaughter King.
"Who dares to disrupt my city?!"
A furious roar echoed as a figure in a blood red cloak shot into the sky, quickly locating Tang San, who hadn't even bothered to hide his presence.
Without hesitation, the Slaughter King launched a direct attack.
His eyes gleamed with a blood red light, and a massive hammer appeared in his hands, smashing down at Tang San!
For years, the Slaughter King had rebuilt his cultivation, making use of the Ring Condensation Method and the increased energy concentration of Douluo Star.
Now, he had achieved Six God Rings, reaching a level comparable to a First Class God in the Divine Realm.
While not the strongest in the world, he was still considered a high level expert.
However, against Tang San, who had received the Abyss's power and ascended to a God King, the Slaughter King was nothing.
As if swatting a fly, Tang San casually raised a hand and slapped him away.
With a loud "PA!", the Slaughter King's body erupted in a shower of blood, and he plummeted from the sky.
Instant kill.
Meanwhile, in reality.
Among those watching the video, a woman's eyes widened with shock.
This was Bo Saixi.
The moment she saw the Slaughter King's face, her heart trembled.
His appearance had changed over the years, but she could never mistake him.
The Slaughter King was none other than Tang Chen the man she had loved and waited for all these years.
"Slaughter City…"
Bo Saixi's eyes filled with determination.
She had made up her mind once her strength recovered, she would immediately depart for Slaughter City.
This long lost love would finally find closure.
Back in the video.
Tang San slowly approached the Slaughter King's lifeless body.
Then, he cast a spell from the Abyss
A forbidden magic known as Necrotic Rebirth.
As the Slaughter King's flesh rapidly decayed, revealing nothing but white bones, he transformed into a skeletal frame in mere moments. Suddenly, within the hollow sockets of his skull, two eerie red flames ignited.
Moments later, a skeleton wielding a hammer stood up, its seven blood red divine rings now enveloped by an ashen black aura of the undead, retaining all the power it had in life.
This was one of the Abyssal Demons' many forms, known as the Immortal Undead Clan. Typically, these were beings who died but had their souls imprisoned within their decayed corpses or skeletal remains, allowing them to continue existing in another form.
Abyssal Demons were not just the horned, winged, and armored beasts of legend they came in various forms. These undead creatures, revived after death, were also classified as Abyssal Demons.
"Not bad," Tang San observed with satisfaction. "A skeleton resurrected from the corpse of a Seven God Ring powerhouse truly does not disappoint."
Behind him, the other corpses that had fallen earlier, their lives drained by the gray field, began to undergo the same transformation. Their flesh vanished, leaving behind bare skeletons, which slowly stood up, their empty eye sockets burning with eerie soul flames.
The sight was horrifying.
"Slaughter City… What a perfect place!"
Tang San turned to look at the growing horde of undead, his smile growing even more satisfied. After all, anyone capable of entering Slaughter City was not weak.
By the time he converted every last person in this city into undead, he would have an army of powerful warriors at his command.
"You," he said, looking at the newly transformed Slaughter King skeleton, as well as the other rising undead behind him.
"Kill everyone in this city."
"Yes, Master."
The Slaughter King, leading the undead army, answered obediently.
Though these creatures retained the memories of their past lives, their consciousness had been completely overwritten. They now existed only to serve Tang San, their new absolute master.
What followed was a massacre.
Slaughter City a lawless domain where only the strongest survived now became a land of the dead.
One by one, its inhabitants fell, mercilessly slaughtered by their own former comrades, their bodies rising once more as undead.
Time passed.
Before long, the Slaughter King's skeletal form approached Tang San, who sat calmly with his eyes closed.
"Master," the Slaughter King reported in a monotone, emotionless voice, "Slaughter City's inhabitants have been completely eradicated. The following forces have been resurrected:
One million undead soldiers (Soul King level and below)Ten thousand undead warriors (Soul Sage level and below)Over two thousand undead commanders (Soul Douluo level)Three hundred undead elites (Titled Douluo level)Eighteen undead lords (One God Ring level)Nine undead generals (Two God Ring level)Seven undead champions (Three God Ring level)Three undead overlords (Four God Ring level) Various undead soul beasts of considerable strength."
Tang San's grin widened.
He hadn't expected so many powerful individuals to have been lurking in Slaughter City.
Now, with all of them resurrected as undead, they retained their full strength but had become completely loyal.
Best of all every undead minion he created could also convert others into the undead, and those newly turned creatures would inherit this same absolute loyalty to him, their original master.
In other words his army of the dead would only continue to grow.
Suddenly
"RUMBLE !"
A deafening crash echoed as millions of skeleton warriors emerged, tearing through the surrounding mountains, marching into the outside world.
With Slaughter City's protective blood mist dispersed, sunlight pierced through, bathing the undead in its golden glow.
Immediately, black smoke rose from the weaker skeletons, their bones cracking and crumbling.
Despite being called the "Immortal Undead Clan", these creatures still had weaknesses namely, sunlight, holy energy, and divine flames.
Exposure to such holy attributes dealt massive damage to them.
For this reason, the undead usually only operated at night, rarely launching attacks when the sun was high in the sky.
Under normal circumstances, such a weakness would have limited their power.
But Tang San simply laughed maniacally.
His face twisted in mad delight.
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
"I now declare THE UNDEAD PLAGUE HAS BEGUN!"
"This world will soon kneel before the Abyss in terror!"
"UNDEAD SKY VEIL RISE!"
With a wave of his hand, a thick gray mist erupted from the millions of skeleton warriors, forming a massive dark cloud over their heads.
Instantly
The world darkened.
Not a single ray of sunlight could break through the Undead Sky Veil.
And with the sun's suppression removed, every skeleton warrior regained its peak combat power!
"Go."
Tang San raised his hand and pointed forward.
"Show these ignorant fools… the greatness of the Abyss!"
With that command
The undead horde surged forward, marching toward the nearest city.
[This is terrifying!]
[Tang San must die!]
[He can revive the dead as skeleton warriors?! And they KEEP their full strength?!]
[We HAVE to stop him! If we let him continue growing, the consequences will be unimaginable!]
[At least these undead creatures CAN'T get stronger over time… If they could evolve like Abyssal Demons by devouring souls, it would be GAME OVER.]
[Yeah… thank god for that…]
The chat exploded, filled with messages from horrified viewers.
Everyone watching the live feed could feel their scalps tingling.
Even though this was just a future prediction, the idea of undead horrors roaming their world was enough to make them shudder.
If this happened in reality, how could they ever fight back?!
Wouldn't that mean the entire world was doomed?!
In the video.
The endless undead army marched toward the nearest city.
Within the city walls
A man frowned in confusion, glancing up at the unnaturally darkened sky.
"Huh? That's weird… why did it suddenly get so dark?"
Others around him looked up as well.
A thick, ominous mist now loomed over the horizon, sending a chill down their spines.
Then
"Clatter… Clatter… Clatter…!"
The sound of countless bony footsteps echoed ominously…
Death was coming.
A strange, rhythmic clattering echoed from the distance the crisp sound of bones grinding against each other. Aside from that, there was no other noise, only a chilling silence that sent shivers down the spine.
"W what is that?! Are those… undead?!"
"How can there be Abyssal undead here?!"
"This is bad! The Abyss is invading!"
"Alert! Sound the city wide alarm immediately!"
As the first skeleton soldier emerged from the shadows, the once indifferent citizens were instantly thrown into panic.
Even though the energy concentration of modern Douluo Continent had given every person innate soul power, making them all soul masters, the majority of people were still weak. Most had only one or two soul rings, and many lacked combat experience.
Faced with these nightmarish Abyssal creatures, which had only been spoken of in legends, they were like startled birds, their fear overwhelming their reason.
Countless people activated their soul rings, but instead of preparing for battle, they desperately fled in all directions.
However, despite their clumsy, rattling movements, the skeleton soldiers were shockingly fast when they ran especially those who had been soul masters in life. Even worse, as undead, they felt no exhaustion, their stamina was limitless, and their pursuit was relentless.
Of course, a city of this size had its own defensive forces.
Soon, squadron after squadron of city guards arrived, each accompanied by their contracted soul beast partners, engaging the undead army in battle!
But the sheer number of skeleton soldiers was simply overwhelming.
The city guards alone could not stop them all.
No matter how fiercely they fought, many skeletons still broke through the defenses, charging into the city streets, mercilessly hunting down civilians.
Each undead warrior had retained its full strength from life and those who had once been powerful soul masters now cut through the fleeing citizens like a sickle through wheat.
It was a massacre.
However, the citizens were not completely powerless.
Even if they were not skilled in battle, they still had their contracted soul beasts.
Though weaker than the skeleton warriors, their soul beasts could at least buy them some time, and in some cases, even turn the tide against their attackers.
Yet despite these desperate struggles, the endless horde of skeletons continued to advance.
For every soul master or soul beast that fell, their flesh would soon dissolve, and moments later, they would rise again reborn as undead, their lifeless eyes burning with soul flames, turning their former allies into prey.
With every victim claimed, the undead army grew larger.
In mere hours, the once lively city was reduced to a graveyard of bone and flame.
Not a single survivor remained.
Now, a vast legion of skeletal warriors, their flaming sockets burning with sinister malice, marched under Tang San's command, heading for the next city.
To have hidden in the shadows for centuries…
Tang San had waited for this moment.
Now that he had revealed himself, it meant he had absolute confidence in his victory.
Using the undead conversion technique, in just three days, he had assembled an army of billions before Douluo Continent's major factions even had time to react.
And that number was still growing.
For every soldier, every citizen slain by the undead, it took mere moments before they rose again, their weapons turning against their loved ones.
Even though low level one ring or two ring skeleton soldiers were no match for real battle hardened soul masters, they attacked in endless waves, exhausting their opponents.
Many powerful soul masters found themselves overwhelmed, their soul power depleted.
And the moment they fell…
They, too, became part of the undead horde.
The undead legion grew like an avalanche, snowballing into an unstoppable force.
By the time the human leadership finally mobilized their armies, the undead plague had already spread across the continent.
The soul master legions, led by the human empires, fought bravely.
But their courage meant nothing against an army that was fearless, tireless, and endless.
For every comrade that fell, a new enemy would soon rise in their place strong as they had been in life, but now fighting for the other side.
It was an unbreakable cycle of despair.
Morale plummeted.
Within half a month, the undead army had become a true apocalyptic disaster, consuming the entire continent in war and death.
Only now, too late, did the people realize the true horror of the Undead Scourge.
This was not like past Abyssal invasions.
Abyssal Demons, no matter how terrifying, were finite.
Once killed, they stayed dead.
But these undead abominations?
Their numbers only grew with every battle.
At last, humanity stood together.
White Cloud City, the Spirit Hall, the two great empires, and all the major sects they formed an alliance, rallying the strongest forces to counter the invasion.
Every strategic city and major road was fortified.
Defensive forces were scattered across every stronghold.
And most importantly
Every fallen warrior, no matter how noble or renowned, was to be immediately cremated.
No one absolutely no one could be allowed to join the ranks of the undead.
This war against the undead forced Douluo Continent to abandon its ancient burial customs, breaking a tradition that had lasted for millennia.
The fallen were no longer buried they were reduced to ash, ensuring they would never rise again.
And under these new measures, humanity finally halted the advance of the undead.
But it was not a victory.
It was only a stalemate.
The undead horde still loomed, relentless as ever.
Everyone knew
This war would not end until its source was destroyed.
Tang San the root of this catastrophe had to die.
Otherwise…
The Undead Scourge would never end.
