Chapter 342: The Truth of the Past
Inside the secret chamber, a golden orb of light hovered in the air. Qian Daoliu's weakened soul had instinctively floated into it moments ago, silently absorbing its energy.
With this divine power, Ye Cheng didn't need to do anything. Once Qian Daoliu's soul had absorbed enough Angel God energy, he would awaken on his own. However, without a physical body, once the divine energy in the air dissipated, his soul though no longer weak would still be vulnerable to the environment. Over time, it would dissolve and return to the world. After all, this world had no Six Paths reincarnation system. When people died, their souls didn't become ghosts; they simply dispersed, their energy returning to nature.
Now, Ye Cheng's task was to use this Angel God energy to reconstruct a new body for Qian Daoliu. This wasn't difficult for him he just needed to follow the physical information recorded in Qian Daoliu's soul to create a body identical to his original one.
Moreover, because this new body was formed from Angel God energy, it would be superior in all aspects. If he trained diligently in the future, he might even have a chance to become a god.
Ye Cheng wasn't the type to talk to himself. Once he confirmed everything was in order, he officially began crafting the new body. He released his divine consciousness and used his power to refine the golden orb of light. Creating a body was a delicate process after all, the human body was an extremely complex structure. Without Qian Daoliu's soul as a reference, making a perfect replica would have been far more difficult.
As soon as he started, the golden light in the chamber began to ripple and distort. Ye Cheng fixed his gaze on the Angel God energy, focusing completely. Outsiders wouldn't be able to see what was happening inside, only that something miraculous was taking place. However, through his divine consciousness, he could clearly perceive every change.
Time passed, second by second.
Finally, after an unknown amount of time, Ye Cheng's tense expression relaxed. He let out a long breath Qian Daoliu's body was finally complete. His soul had seamlessly fused into the new flesh during the process.
Now, the next step was to use the remaining Angel God energy to replenish his soul's strength, establish a foundation for cultivation, and then accelerate his growth so that he could regain the power he once had.
This part of the process was much simpler.
Ye Cheng effortlessly integrated the Divine Soul Master system into Qian Daoliu's new body, ensuring it had the power of an Ultimate Douluo.
Why not directly elevate him to godhood?
Because Ye Cheng wasn't capable of doing that not yet. If he temporarily assumed the persona of the Abyssal Sovereign, he could do it with ease, but there was no need. This level of strength was already enough for Qian Daoliu. As for becoming a god, he would have to achieve that on his own.
Originally, Qian Daoliu could never have become a god unless he inherited the Angel God position. But thanks to Ye Cheng's modifications, the shackles that had bound him from birth had been removed. Now, he was completely free.
The golden Angel God energy had completely dissipated.
In midair, an old body was now floating.
Naked.
Yeah, that was an eyesore.
Ye Cheng remained calm as he glanced at a certain part of the body. Pretty small. Considering Qian Daoliu's age, maybe it had shriveled up.
With a wave of his hand, light enveloped Qian Daoliu's body. When it faded, he was now fully clothed, making the scene far less offensive.
However, Qian Daoliu remained in a deep sleep, floating quietly in midair. If no one woke him up, he might sleep for several more days.
Ye Cheng decided to leave that task to Qian Renxue, since he could sense a presence waiting outside the door for quite some time.
…
Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong had arrived at a quiet room.
Once there, both women fell into silence.
Bibi Dong waited for Qian Renxue to speak.
Qian Renxue, on the other hand, was lost in memories of her life.
Finally, snapping out of her thoughts, Qian Renxue looked at Bibi Dong with a calm expression and asked the question that had haunted her for years.
"Are you… really my mother?"
Yes, this was the greatest doubt in her heart. What kind of mother would hate her own daughter so much? Unless… that daughter wasn't truly hers.
"As much as I hate to admit it, you are indeed my daughter by blood." Bibi Dong was momentarily taken aback by the strange question but answered truthfully.
"Good."
Having received confirmation, Qian Renxue finally asked the real question.
"If I am your daughter, then why have you hated me since birth? Why did you try to kill me multiple times?"
"Am I not your child?"
"Is this how a mother should act?!"
Years of resentment surged through her, and her emotions became increasingly unstable.
"Because…"
Bibi Dong closed her eyes, as if trying to suppress the emotions deep within her heart. After a moment, she reopened them and looked at Qian Renxue with a cold, detached gaze.
"Because you are a child that should never have been born."
"A… cursed child?"
Qian Renxue was stunned.
She had imagined many reasons perhaps Bibi Dong saw her as a threat to her control over Spirit Hall, or maybe she was simply a heartless woman incapable of love.
But hearing those words "a child that should never have been born" made her feel like she was about to break.
"Explain yourself!"
Qian Renxue trembled with rage, pointing at Bibi Dong as she shouted, "Why would you say that?! Are you not afraid that I'll kill you?!"
"You should ask your 'good' father."
Bibi Dong let out a cold laugh, her voice filled with mockery.
"My father?"
Hearing this, Qian Renxue recalled what her grandfather had told her. Temporarily suppressing her fury, she asked, "What does my father have to do with this?"
Bibi Dong didn't respond immediately. Instead, she turned to the window, gazing out at the scenery. Her beautiful eyes were filled with memories as she sighed.
"Let me tell you a story."
"Once upon a time, there was a young girl."
"She fell in love with someone she should never have loved…"
"…She never imagined that the teacher she respected most would turn out to be a monster worse than a beast!"
"…Then, she found out she was pregnant. She tried to get rid of the child, but she was caught. In the end, she was imprisoned, her soul power sealed…"
"…Those days of forced pregnancy were endless darkness, devoid of hope. Her hatred for that beastly teacher only grew deeper!"
"…Then, one day, an opportunity arose! That monster was gravely injured!"
"And so, she seized the moment. She struck when he was at his weakest and killed him in one decisive blow devouring his very soul!"
