Chapter 66 - chapter 66The Shadow in the Snow

VICTOR

Ice is never the problem, Alia.

The problem begins when someone tries to escape the truth.

(Viktor extends his hand. Alia hesitates for a moment, then slowly takes it.)

---

SCENE: PRIVATE JET – NIGHT SKY

(A luxurious private jet soars through the skies. Outside the window – an endless white sea of ice. Inside, Alia sits wrapped in a jacket, gazing at Viktor.)

ALIA

(quietly)

Are you sure I'm ready?

VICTOR

(firm voice)

You were born ready, Alia.

(Viktor sits beside her, gently placing his hand over hers.)

VICTOR

There's a place in Alaska…

where the past still speaks.

What you're searching for…

might be waiting there.

ALIA

(silent, closing her eyes)

Then let's go… and see the end.

---

SCENE: VICTOR'S LUXURY HOTEL – NIGHT

(In the heart of an arctic city, surrounded by snow, rises a magnificent luxury hotel. Its name: "Frostbloom Palace." Glass walls shimmer with blue light, reflecting the chaos of snow outside.)

(Viktor leads Alia to the grand entrance.)

VICTOR

(with pride)

Here it is, Alia. Frostbloom Palace.

My favorite sanctuary.

Everything here was built by design—

a wonderland carved from ice.

ALIA

(eyes wide in awe)

So massive… so high…

Do you come here often?

VICTOR

(smiling)

No. Coming here usually means work.

But tonight, this place is prepared… just for you.

---

(Inside, soft golden and silver light glows across marble floors. Priceless artwork decorates the walls. In the center, fountains flow with water carved from melting ice.)

ALIA

(shivering lightly)

This feels like a dream… hidden inside the ice.

VICTOR

(gentle voice)

Every corner here holds a piece of my past.

But tonight… it belongs to you.

---

(They move into a vast courtyard. Through towering glass windows, snow-capped mountains glow under blue moonlight. Viktor stands near the glass, bringing Alia beside him.)

VICTOR

Do you see it?

Behind this ice lie stories… truths waiting to be uncovered.

ALIA

(softly, almost vulnerable)

Viktor… you've followed me all this time…

yet you still don't truly know me.

VICTOR

(slowly)

That's why, Alia…

You'll understand only when you face the real truth.

---

SCENE: HOTEL LOUNGE – NIGHT

(The lounge glows with flickering candles. Soft jazz music drifts through the air. Alia sits with a cup of coffee in her hand, eyes fixed on Viktor.)

ALIA

So much luxury…

and yet, I still see the fire in your eyes. Why?

VICTOR

(sighing deeply)

Because truth is never easy, Alia.

Even under the ice… there's fire.

ALIA

(smiling faintly)

Then maybe you need the ice… to keep you cool.

VICTOR

(with a grin)

Exactly.

---

SCENE: HOTEL SUITE – NIGHT

(The elevator doors open into a private suite. Inside: a marble floor, plush sofas, a vast bathtub, walls of glass opening to mountains of ice and sky.)

ALIA

(in disbelief)

All this… just for you?

VICTOR

(extends his hand)

And tonight… for you.

(They enter the suite. Alia walks to the window, stunned by the breathtaking view of snowy peaks merging with the endless blue sky.)

ALIA

Moments like this… don't come twice in a lifetime.

VICTOR

(softly)

That's why tonight… there will be no secrets between us.

---

(Alia settles onto the sofa. Viktor sits beside her, their eyes locking.)

ALIA

(quietly)

Do you really trust me?

VICTOR

(exhales slowly)

Alia, you're not just the center of my trust.

You're the center of my life.

(An invisible bridge of tenderness grows between them. Amidst the ice, warmth begins to bloom.)

---

SCENE: VICTOR'S SUITE – NIGHT

(Viktor notices a tattoo on Alia's arm — a blue phoenix with wings spread wide. Slowly, he reaches for her hand.)

VICTOR

(softly)

This tattoo… it's as strong and mysterious as you.

(Viktor's hand moves gently to her chest, tracing the phoenix wings. He bends down and presses a delicate kiss on the tattoo.)

ALIA

(blushing, lowering her eyes, flustered)

Why… are you doing this?

VICTOR

(with a quiet smile)

Because this phoenix symbolizes the fire burning inside you.

And I want to feel it.

(Alia hides her smile, unable to meet his eyes. But her heart races, warmth rising within her.)

---

SCENE: EARLY MORNING – VICTOR'S SUITE

(The sun has yet to rise. A soft golden glow filters through the glass window. Viktor lies peacefully asleep, his breath calm, face unguarded. On the bedside table, Alia's phone lies silent.)

(Alia carefully rises from the bed. Her eyes show conflict, her lips whispering an unspoken decision.)

ALIA

(to herself)

If love runs this deep…

then I need to discover it… alone.

---

SCENE: UNDERGROUND PARKING – DAWN

(Alia walks slowly through the empty parking garage. Her jacket collar pulled up, cold air tossing her hair. She reaches her BMW, opens the door, and slips behind the wheel.)

(She exhales, steadying herself. The engine roars to life, echoing against the concrete walls.)

SCENE: UNDERGROUND PARKING – DAWN

(The car engine roars to life. On the radio, a soft piano melody plays. Alia grips the wheel, determination burning in her eyes.)

---

SCENE: ICE ROAD – EARLY MORNING

(A sleek car glides along a winding mountain road. Snowbanks rise high on both sides. Ahead, a faint outline of blue-tinted peaks stretches across the horizon. Alia drives in silence, her face pale, eyes heavy with sorrow yet firm with resolve.)

ALIA

(tears welling up)

Viktor… I know you're hiding something.

I love you… but first, I have to find myself.

---

SCENE: FROZEN LAKE NEAR THE MOUNTAINS

(Alia steps out of the car. The world is wrapped in white silence. She walks slowly across the snow toward a vast frozen lake. Mist drifts in the icy air, carrying with it loneliness and an eerie peace.)

(She stops at the lake's edge, her breath visible in the cold. Standing still, it feels as though she's waiting—for someone, or perhaps, for herself.)

ALIA

(quietly, to the wind)

If the truth lies hidden within you, Viktor…

then I'll find it here, in this solitude.

---

CUT TO: VICTOR'S ROOM – MORNING

(The golden light of dawn slips through the curtains. Viktor stirs awake in the empty suite. He glances at the space beside him—Alia is gone. A shadow of worry crosses his face. His eyes harden with sudden realization.)SCENE: VICTOR'S SUITE – MORNING

(Victor suddenly wakes. The space beside him is empty. He rushes to the window—her car is gone.)

VICTOR

(exhales sharply, rubbing his forehead)

Alia…

---

SCENE: FROZEN RIDGE – MOUNTAINSIDE – MID MORNING

(Alia walks alone across the snow, wrapped in a light fur coat. A small handgun rests in her hand—for self-defense. Silence dominates the mountains, broken only by the faint whistle of the wind.)

(Suddenly, a deep Russian voice echoes from behind…)

VOICE (O.S.)

(in Russian, grave tone)

"Irobona… Ahh…"

(Alia freezes. Slowly, she turns. Through the haze of snow, a hooded figure emerges—a young Russian man. His gaze is sharp, his eyes cold yet blurred by mystery.)

ALIA

(eyes widen in shock, horrified)

Zainkha?! No… no, you can't be here!

(She stumbles back as Zainkha steps forward.)

ZAINKHA

(softly, Russian accent in Bengali)

Alia… you don't know who you are. You don't know who I am.

But soon… you will.

ALIA

(screaming, raising her gun)

Don't come any closer! I said stay away!

(Zainkha halts, a strange smile curling across his lips.)

ZAINKHA

(with a cryptic look)

I am the beginning of your truth.

And the end… that's for you to write.

(Alia doesn't hesitate. She spins and bolts through the snow. Her feet sink deep, but she pushes forward with desperate strength.)

---

SCENE: DEEPER INTO THE WOODS – SNOWY PATH

(Alia runs breathlessly. Suddenly, her foot slips. She tumbles down a steep slope, rolling hard across the ice, until she crashes near the bottom. She groans, struggling to open her eyes. Around her, everything is swallowed by mist and shadows.)

---

SCENE: SNOWY RIDGE – CONTINUOUS

(Zainkha approaches slowly, looming over her. His cold blue eyes lock with hers. He kneels, brushing a strand of hair gently from her face.)

ZAINKHA

(soft, unsettling)

Shh… it's me.

(Alia stares in shock. Before she can react, Zainkha suddenly scoops her up into his arms. Her body tenses, but she doesn't fight. He lowers her carefully onto the snow, his gaze filled with a chilling mix of loneliness and strange tenderness.)

ZAINKHA

(cold blue eyes fixed on her)

You look so lovely. I can fix that, Alia.

(Alia's eyes flicker with fear and confusion. She can't decide whether to fight or surrender.)

---

SCENE: SNOWY RIDGE – MOMENTS LATER

(Alia struggles to rise. Suddenly, Zainkha pulls a small syringe from inside his coat. In one swift move, he grabs her arm and drives the needle into her skin.)

ALIA

(choking, trying to scream)

No… you can't… do this…

(Her vision blurs. The world spins. Slowly, she collapses, unconscious.)

(Zainkha catches her before she hits the ground. Snow begins to fall heavily around them, cloaking the mountains in silence.)

ZAINKHA

(to himself, in Russian-accented Bengali)

Sleep, Alia. The truth is still far away.

---

SCENE: ALASKAN CHALET – NIGHT

(A vast, eerie stillness. Deep in the Alaskan mountains, pine trees bend under the weight of snow. Frost clings to the glass windows of an old, luxurious wooden chalet. It looms like a fortress—grand, yet frighteningly lonely.)

(From outside, faint golden light glows from within. The door creaks open as Zainkha enters, carrying the unconscious Alia draped across his shoulder. The door closes behind them—almost as if the house itself had been waiting.)
