Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

Today all the ministers were present in the royal court. The law minister, standing right in front of the king, began, "Kundar's Maharaj Chakradhar Saan, in front of the six judges and all the ministers present in the royal court, taking my god Sun as a witness, I, the law minister of Kundar Royal court, promise you that all the evidence presented by me will be true and without any influence."Saransh slowly stepped back and stood beside Sudas.

He began, "Crown prince Sudas is the second son of Maharaja Chakradhar and the only surviving heir of the San dynasty. Crown prince Sudas is accused of having killed the most respected person of Jambudweep and the former commander and guardian of Kundar, the venerable Sahastrabahu Kan .The Crown prince is also accused of plotting a rebellion against the Kundar power under the influence of an outsider. The Crown prince misused the treasury to fulfil his activities and also made changes in the border security system for his own benefit without the knowledge of the Kundar power. (Sahastrabahu means thousand arms)

The Crown prince's actions have caused great damage to the honor and security of Kundar... I seek permission to present the available evidence," he requested.

The king gave permission with a gesture. After that, Saransh kept presenting one proof after another, and the impeachment continued in the royal court. During the entire impeachment, the expressions on Sudas's face remained the same. There was no expression of shame, remorse, sorrow, or anger on his face even for a moment.

Whatever allegations were made against him, he did not take even a moment to accept them, as if he wanted all this to end very soon. The entire royal court was stunned to know the secrets that Saransh revealed along with the proofs. Some people got angry with Sudas, and some sympathized with him. There was very little argument in the entire impeachment because Sudas did not protest, so the decision was taken quickly.

The king consulted with the judges and told Saransh his decision. Saransh stood in the middle of the royal court and announced the decision to everyone: "I, the law minister of Kundar, taking my god Sun as witness, promise that the decision given by me is of the king himself."He said, "The crown prince of this state and the future heir to the Kundar kingdom has harassed the people by not giving due respect to his kingdom, lineage, and duties. Many citizens have lost their lives due to the actions of the crown prince. Therefore, for the crime of Kundar kingdom's relations with enemy states, murder of the respected Sahastrabahu Kan, treasury, and harassing the citizens, the title of crown prince is taken away from Sudas, son of Kundar King Chakradhar San, and he is will be prisoned in the devil's hell for an undeclared period... Does Crown Prince Sudas accept this punishment, or does he want a last chance to apologize?"

"I accept the punishment." Sudas accepted it flatly as before without wasting a moment.

All the ministers present in the royal court already knew that Sudas would get the advantage of being the only surviving heir of the Kundar's Royal family; hence, he would not be given the death penalty.

After announcing the punishment, the royal court was adjourned. The jam-packed court slowly started emptying.

Kali also got up from his seat and went out of the royal court. While going out,Just then a soldier informed them about Mahavira reaching Kundar with his troops.

While Sudas was taken to the prison, Maharaja Chakradhar went to meet the guests from Arthala.
