Chapter 47: The Possibility of Martial Soul Evolution – The Yin Yang Ice Fire Eye

"Really?" Guang Ling's voice was filled with surprise.

"Yes, but I can't be sure if it's an immortal herb. I just feel that my martial soul is reacting to something."

Han Li wasn't entirely making things up. At first, he had only intended to fake a reaction, but when he focused his mind on his Ice Fire Bow, he genuinely felt a faint tremor. It was as if the bow was yearning for something within Sunset Forest though the sensation was subtle enough to overlook if he hadn't been paying close attention.

As he spoke, the Ice Fire Bow manifested in his hands. Guang Ling took a closer look and noticed that, without Han Li actively summoning its power, the bow was spontaneously gathering elemental energy, as if responding to a distant call.

Guang Ling frowned. He desired immortal herbs, but his disciple's martial soul acting up was a bigger concern.

"Han Li, I've never heard of a martial soul reacting like this. Should we leave for now? We can return when you're stronger and investigate further."

Hearing this, Han Li felt a wave of warmth in his heart. His master's first thought wasn't the treasure, but his safety.

"No, Master, it's fine." He quickly reassured him. "I can feel it this is something good. Whatever is inside Sunset Forest is something my Ice Fire Bow desperately craves. If I find it, I might be able to evolve my martial soul."

"Martial soul evolution? Could it become a god level martial soul?"

Guang Ling blurted out his thoughts, unable to conceal his shock.

He understood the significance of god level martial souls. The Seraphim of the Qian family was one. Compared to his own martial soul, the Seraphim was overwhelmingly superior, with almost no weaknesses an all around, absolute powerhouse among spirits.

Of course, he wasn't aware that god level martial souls were usually granted rather than naturally evolved, but the possibility of martial soul enhancement was enough to make his heart race.

"Maybe? I'm not sure." Han Li responded uncertainly.

He had a rough idea of why his martial soul was reacting the Yin Yang Ice Fire Eye. Both his martial soul and the hot spring contained coexisting ice and fire attributes, making it likely that they would resonate with each other.

The possibility of evolution was just a theory, but the Ice Fire Bow's reaction was undeniable.

Once he reached the Ice Fire Eye, he would definitely gain benefits power ups were guaranteed.

As for reaching god level status? That was a wild guess at best. The remains of the two Dragon Kings still lay beneath the Ice Fire Eye, and who knew if they were truly dead? If their remnants or spirits could be fused with his martial soul, then maybe just maybe he could evolve into something extraordinary.

Seeing Han Li's uncertain expression, Guang Ling made a quick decision.

"Either way, this is a good thing, right?"

"Yes."

Han Li nodded firmly. Even if his martial soul didn't evolve, the herbs in the Ice Fire Eye alone made this trip worthwhile.

"Then it's settled. Let's go! If anything gets in our way, I'll just blast right through it!"

Guang Ling grinned excitedly, summoning his martial soul. He was itching for a fight. His sparring matches with his fellow Titled Douluos never felt satisfying, so he welcomed any real battle.

Han Li held back a laugh as he watched his master's eager expression. He couldn't exactly tell him to hold back in case he accidentally obliterated Dugu Bo.

Aerial Scouting

"I'll take you up for a better look."

This time, Guang Ling didn't simply carry Han Li, but instead used soul power to levitate him, allowing for a more stable ascent.

As they rose into the air, Han Li activated his Eagle Eye, scanning the vast expanse of Sunset Forest below.

The afternoon sun burned high in the sky, keeping the usual forest mist from obstructing his vision. His right eye gleamed with golden light, fully activating his perception abilities.

Before long, he noticed two distinct locations where thick vapor was rising even at noon.

He quickly pulled out a map, cross referencing the geographical features with what he saw below.

His finger hovered over one specific spot, marked with a red X.

"This should be it."

He ruled out the other location, which was a known swamp area the true Ice Fire Eye had to be here.

Han Li smiled and turned to Guang Ling.

"Alright, Master, we can go down now."

"Good."

As they landed, Guang Ling's eyes immediately locked onto the map.

Han Li had marked the location deep within Sunset Forest, surrounded by dangerous symbols indicating high toxicity. It made sense why no one had properly explored it before.

"Poison, huh? I wonder how potent it is." Guang Ling muttered.

If the poison wasn't internally activated, he wasn't too concerned. He could simply freeze everything in his path to neutralize the threat.

"Let's check it out first." Han Li suggested. "If the poisonous miasma is too widespread, we can approach from above. You can fly, after all."

He didn't explicitly reveal what he knew, but he had already prepared countermeasures.

The plant compendium from Chrysanthemum Douluo contained various poisonous flora, including the Green Scale Seven Fatal Flower that formed the toxic fog around the Ice Fire Eye. He had also studied methods to neutralize it, ensuring that they wouldn't be trapped.

"Good idea." Guang Ling nodded.

With their plan set, they began their journey toward the marked location.

Into the Poison Zone

Compared to Star Dou Forest, Sunset Forest was much smaller and had fewer high level soul beasts.

Thus, Guang Ling had no reservations about unleashing his Titled Douluo aura to repel the surrounding creatures.

Their travel speed skyrocketed as a result.

Before sunset, they had already reached the edge of the toxic region.

Guang Ling recognized several poisonous plants from the compendium. After a brief aerial scan, his expression darkened the area was densely packed with venomous flora.

"Too much poison there's no need to waste time on the ground. We'll fly in directly."

He glanced at Han Li. "High altitudes are safer at night anyway."

"Agreed, Master."

Han Li handed him a special detox pill.

"Even if we're flying, it's best to be cautious. Take this just in case."

Guang Ling examined the handmade antidote, sniffed it, and swallowed it without hesitation.

"When did you make this?" He asked curiously.

"When I was studying the plant compendium, my instincts told me it might come in handy, so I made extra." Han Li half lied, half truthed.

Guang Ling sighed helplessly. "Your instincts sure are something…"

At this point, he no longer questioned Han Li's luck.

With the sky darkening, Guang Ling hoisted Han Li onto his back and sped toward their target at full speed.

Han Li kept his Eagle Eye active, providing real time navigation.

By the time the last rays of sunlight vanished, they had reached their destination.

From above, they spotted a faint red glow but it was partially obscured by a mountain peak.

Without their aerial advantage, it would have been incredibly difficult to find.

"Master, conceal your aura. Let's land quietly. There could be other dangers nearby."

Even though Han Li's excitement was evident, he still reminded Guang Ling to be cautious.

Guang Ling smirked and shook his head.

"You really are something else…"

Still, he retracted his presence, following Han Li's suggestion.

Silently, they descended toward the legendary Ice Fire Yin Yang Eye.
