Chapter 317 - Chapter 317: Parting Ways, Qian Renxue’s Message

Chapter 317: Parting Ways, Qian Renxue's Message

"It seems like none of the inheritances are particularly suitable for me. How about… I just stick with you?" Guang Ling scratched his head in frustration when Han Li brought up the topic.

The elders of the Worship Hall had all set their sights on the War God's inheritance, while Qing Luan planned to attempt the trials of the Phoenix God and the God of Speed. As for Guang Ling, he truly didn't know where he should go.

"Forget it, with Grandmaster around, you don't need to worry about that. Just give them all a try first at the very least, you can extend the years of your spirit rings. If nothing works out, I'll talk to them and see if I can find something suitable for you."

Han Li felt a bit helpless about this as well. He couldn't conjure up something that simply didn't exist. But once he became a god, this issue wouldn't be a problem at all. Bestowing godhood wasn't difficult for him.

The fact that there were three extra first rank god positions was already beyond his expectations. The Divine Realm wasn't even paying attention to this anymore. Perhaps his master's matter would have to be settled with the Sea God.

Hmm, Dugu Bo still hadn't received any updates. Maybe it was time to strengthen him once more he really lacked competitiveness.

After Han Li had given the Blue Silver Emperor's essence to Ye LingLing, it had only further enhanced her healing abilities and control over plants, but its effects were still quite limited.

Meanwhile, he had yet to find the right candidate for the Golden Holy Dragon's essence. Strengthening Old Man Dugu one more time, allowing his martial soul to evolve again, would improve his chances of reaching an unparalleled level during the god trials.

Yes, that was the plan. Han Li silently made up his mind.

With Yan around, Dugu Bo probably wouldn't reject another transformation of his martial soul. Once they completed their spirit sacrifices, Han Li would inform him.

"Eh, I was just saying. You don't have to take it to heart your matters are more important."

Guang Ling shook his head. His goal had already been achieved, even exceeding his expectations. He didn't want to burden Han Li with his personal concerns.

"I'll act within my limits."

Han Li understood his master's meaning and smiled in response.

Without the dazzling pile of soul bones in sight, Qian Daoliu finally opened his eyes and smiled as he watched the interaction between master and disciple. Sending Guang Ling to take in a disciple might have been the wisest decision of his entire life.

Perhaps knowing they were about to part ways for a while, everyone gathered together, chatting and laughing as they ended the day.

The next morning, after Han Li provided the designated locations, Jin Crocodile and the other three left first. They departed with high spirits, as if they had regained the youthful enthusiasm of their early years. Who would have thought that, in their old age, they would once again have such clear goals?

Meanwhile, Han Li and his group also left the town, heading into a secluded area. It was time to deal with Da Ming and Er Ming.

Although they were hundred thousand year soul beasts, everyone present had already been through similar experiences multiple times, so they weren't particularly surprised. Only Qian Daoliu, seeing this for the first time, watched with a hint of curiosity.

Han Li took a bag from Dugu Bo, and with a swift movement of his Evil God Hook, the contents were instantly broken apart two massive frozen figures crashed onto the ground.

Da Ming and Er Ming were in poor condition, still trapped and considerably weakened, but that was exactly what Han Li needed.

Nodding toward Xiu'er and Dugu Yan, Han Li sealed off the surroundings, activated his Yin Yang Domain, and as the dragon horns on his head extended once more, he struck the two brothers hard.

Under Qian Daoliu's widening eyes, the two soul beasts, now dazed and barely conscious, were forcibly manipulated into beginning a soul sacrifice.

Two blood red beams shot into the sky. As Da Ming and Er Ming regained their senses, they were already too powerless to resist self destruction wasn't even an option.

They could only watch in despair as their very existence, including their souls, was absorbed by Dugu Yan and Xiu'er. Their dying roars and curses echoed as even their souls burned away completely.

No one paid attention to their struggles. Even in death, all they knew was that their captors were somehow connected to the one they had always longed for Sister Xiao Wu. Judging by their attire, they were people from the Spirit Hall. That was all they understood.

As the energy gradually settled, Dugu Yan and Xiu'er successfully obtained their seventh spirit rings, advancing to the Soul Sage level. Above their heads, the dazzling crimson of hundred thousand year soul rings gleamed alongside their newly acquired hundred thousand year soul bones.

Qian Daoliu remained silent. He finally understood why the people around Han Li were so overwhelmingly powerful.

Had he known this earlier, he would never have allowed Qian Renxue to stay in Tian Dou City. But at least, Xiaoxue wasn't weak either she had relied entirely on her own efforts. Qian Daoliu consoled himself with this thought, but his gaze toward Han Li grew increasingly complex.

This was beyond his understanding. At the very least, even among the gods he knew, few possessed such abilities.

Han Li merely smiled but didn't offer an explanation.

From here on, they would be traveling together, and some things simply couldn't be hidden anymore. It was time for Qian Daoliu to accept reality.

As the two women continued to stabilize their power, Han Li turned his gaze toward Dugu Bo.

Dugu Bo summoned his martial soul, observed it for a moment, then silently walked to the side, took the small ice crystal vial from Han Li's hand, and tossed it into the mouth of his summoned spirit before sitting down in a meditative position.

"Helping the old man strengthen his martial soul will make the god trials a bit easier for him."

Noticing Qian Daoliu's puzzled look, Han Li offered a simple explanation.

Qian Daoliu nodded thoughtfully and observed carefully.

Half a day later, Han Li lifted the seal on the area, and the group emerged from within.

There was no need to say much about Dugu Yan and Xiu'er they had successfully advanced to Soul Sage, and with the support of their soul cores, their future cultivation speed would be significantly faster. Han Li also handed them the soul bones that Di Tian had delivered. Now was the time for these bones to be utilized to their fullest potential. With the combination of the god trials and the power boost from absorbing the soul bones, their path forward was clear they simply needed to forge ahead.

Dugu Bo's martial soul had evolved, completely transforming into a dragon type martial soul. Since his original martial soul was already powerful, the new form combined both abilities lightning, water, fire, and poison. The golden protective glow had turned into a dazzling multicolored radiance. Regardless of its aesthetics, its strength was now at the highest level. With this transformation, he successfully broke through to Rank 97.

Meanwhile, after half a day to process everything, Qian Daoliu's emotions had stabilized. The confusion in his heart had been completely cast aside.

Perhaps, in the final years of his life, he would still have the chance to witness many more extraordinary things. That was his thought.

After a brief rest, Han Li looked at the group. The atmosphere had turned slightly heavy it was time to part ways.

"There's no need to be sad. It shouldn't be too long before we meet again. Besides, there's always the pendants."

Among them, Xiu'er and Zhu Zhuqing were the quietest. According to the plan, they would be the first to leave.

Xiu'er had barely been apart from Han Li since she was six years old. Meanwhile, though Zhu Zhuqing usually spoke the least, she was actually the most reliant on Han Li.

"At most, in six months, our communication should go beyond just talking."

Han Li carefully adjusted the pendants around their necks and made a serious promise.

Losing their presence all of a sudden was something he would need to get used to as well. But for the sake of the future, this temporary separation was necessary. Han Li couldn't accompany them through their god trials this was a challenge they had to overcome on their own. It was a necessary price to pay.

"We'll complete the god trials as soon as possible."

The two exchanged a determined look, their expressions firm. Their inheritance locations were close to each other, making them a two person team.

"Alright. If anything happens, contact me immediately."

After embracing them both, Han Li watched with a smile as their figures gradually disappeared from sight.

"Clicking my tongue here, but are we really not following them to check on things?"

To the side, Guang Ling shook his head but looked at Han Li.

"No need. Their strength is sufficient most people wouldn't be able to match them. Besides, you and the others are heading in a different direction than them."

This had been decided long ago. Han Li wanted everyone to grow stronger bringing along babysitters would defeat the purpose.

"Alright, alright. Since you're set on this, we'll leave too. See you later. Wish your master some luck."

Guang Ling removed his elbow from Han Li's shoulder, lightly bumped his chest, then grabbed Dugu Bo who was still saying goodbye to his granddaughter and shot a glance at Qing Luan before they all drifted away.

"Big brother, I'm leaving my precious disciple in your hands. If he gets too cocky, feel free to smack him! Hahaha!"

His laughter echoed from the distance, lightening the heavy mood of parting.

Han Li watched his master's retreating figure and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Alright, Grandmaster, it's time for us to go as well."

He glanced at the four remaining people by his side. Thanks to Guang Ling's joking interruption, the tension had eased considerably.

"Where are we going?"

Qian Daoliu gave them a look before taking the lead, soaring into the sky.

"First, back to Tian Dou City. With LingLing there, we needed to return anyway. Plus, Xiaoxue sent a message, so we'll stop by on the way. As for the Extreme North, there's no rush we might as well wait for news from Di Tian."

As Han Li spoke, wings unfolded behind him and the others, lifting them all into the air. Fortunately, everyone left in the group had decent flight capabilities.

Upon hearing this, Qian Daoliu's body stiffened slightly. Almost unconsciously, he touched the small angel figurine on his chest, then turned to look at Han Li, pretending to do so casually.

"When did Xiaoxue send you a message? What did she say?"

He knew that their communication was through the pendants, and that he didn't have the necessary access. In fact, everyone's messages currently had to pass through Han Li. Yet, for some reason, a sour feeling welled up inside him.

He was her grandfather, but he hadn't received any message from his granddaughter?

Xiaoxue could have just gone to the Angel Sanctuary to find him, yet she hadn't?

She could have…

Han Li suddenly felt that Qian Daoliu's gaze toward him was turning somewhat hostile. His eyelid twitched slightly now he understood. Well, it wasn't his fault that Qian Daoliu's communication methods were outdated.

Hmm, once they got back, he would have to remind Qian Renxue to be more considerate of her "empty nest grandpa." Otherwise, Han Li would have to endure this look for the foreseeable future. And considering that Qian Daoliu was going to accompany him to Sea God Island, that was a problem.

"Nothing too important. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect wants her to act as a bridge between them and others. It's on the way, so we'll handle it along with everything else."

A matter he had set in motion long ago had been delayed until now. Han Li shook his head things had changed, and so had the price.
