Xu Yang picked up the book titled "The Benefits of Martial Soul Fusion Techniques on Cultivation." This book documented how individuals with martial soul fusion techniques could enhance their cultivation speed by ten percent when practicing together, supported by extensive data records.
It was proven that this theory was feasible; however, the number of martial souls capable of fusion was quite limited, and even more so when considering the need for a deep connection between the soul masters involved.
"This can be achieved, but it's a shame that mastering martial soul fusion techniques is so difficult!" Xu Yang remarked as he tossed the book back to Qian Renxue and picked up the last one, "Visualization Method." This book did not contain visual diagrams but rather discussed how to use visualization for meditation, presenting only theoretical concepts—essentially just an idea proposed by a soul master.
It seemed even less reliable than the previous book, "How to Accelerate Cultivation."
Yet, Xu Yang became immersed in it, contemplating the potential of this cultivation method.
"I've read that book. I can only say the idea is good, but implementing it is very challenging!" Qian Renxue kindly reminded him as she noticed Xu Yang engrossed in the last book.
"I know; I'm just taking a look!" Xu Yang replied without looking up. As a traveler from another world, he understood the feasibility of visualization methods. In his past life, similar concepts existed in Daoism and Buddhism, as well as in Western traditions. He was curious about how this method compared to traditional meditation in terms of cultivation speed.
"Whoosh!"
Suddenly, his Sun Martial Soul appeared, hovering before him.
Xu Yang began to follow the theory in the book, repeatedly imagining the shape of his Sun Martial Soul in his mind and focusing on its essence while continuously sketching it out mentally.
Qian Renxue stared at the golden sun before her with longing; she felt that this was what she was missing.
The temperature in the entire room began to rise steadily. Qian Renxue didn't mind; she was immersed in the changes within her soul power. She noticed that under the illumination of Xu Yang's Sun Martial Soul, her cultivation speed had increased significantly, far surpassing her speed in simulated environments.
After more than ten minutes of this practice, aside from feeling a bit calmer internally, there were no other noticeable effects.
"No wonder this is just a theoretical proposal; after all, who would bother to research it further when there's a well-established meditation system?"
Feeling somewhat disappointed, Xu Yang exited the visualization state and retracted his martial soul. He understood why no one pursued this method further. However, upon reflecting on his earlier experience, he realized that while visualization might not enhance soul power as effectively as meditation methods—even possibly not increasing it at all—it did significantly improve mental strength.
Even if it wasn't better than meditation right now, its effectiveness would likely improve with deeper visualization practices; its potential was considerable.
"How was it?! Disappointed?" Qian Renxue asked with a smile as she saw Xu Yang open his eyes.
"Not too bad; it's useful but not much!" Xu Yang exhaled softly, feeling a bit mixed inside.
"Well then, junior brother, I'll go check if there are any books I need in this library. We can chat again later!"
"I'll go with you!"
Seeing Xu Yang heading toward the book section, Qian Renxue stood up to follow him.
Reluctantly, Xu Yang led Qian Renxue along. Their presence attracted many gazes; after all, Qian Renxue's character as Xue Qinghe was that of a prince from the Heaven Dou Empire—there weren't many who could walk alongside her at Heaven Dou Royal Academy.
Xu Yang ignored these stares and entered the book section to browse around. He occasionally pulled down books that piqued his interest; if they seemed useless after flipping through them, he would return them to their shelves. If they were useful, he temporarily stored them in his storage soul guide.
Most of the books were about soul beasts. He even found one titled "Records of Exotic Beasts," which detailed ancient species like the Ten-Headed Fiery Snake and Heavy Ming Bird.
Soon enough, Xu Yang arrived at the section dedicated to herbal books and began searching through them. He even perused various travelogues in hopes of finding information about celestial herbs.
Two hours later!
Qian Renxue grew impatient; this annoying guy had been here for two hours flipping through various herb-related books without paying her any mind.
"Senior brother! What exactly are you looking for?! Do you need my help?!"
"No need!"
Xu Yang refused without hesitation. It would be foolish to expose anything about celestial herbs now; if Qian Renxue discovered something amiss, he wouldn't be able to get any celestial herbs from within the Ice and Fire Eyes.
"Then take your time searching!"
Qian Renxue huffed angrily and left with an annoyed remark. Unlike Xu Yang, who had plenty of free time, she had many royal duties to attend to. Before leaving, she instructed She Long to keep an eye on Xu Yang and see what he was up to.
After Qian Renxue left, Xu Yang didn't waste any time either; he continued browsing through herbal books hoping to find records about celestial herbs. His efforts paid off when he finally discovered some records about celestial herbs on a dusty bookshelf.
These included several precious herbs he was most interested in: Cockscomb Phoenix Flower, Vermilion Lotus, Marvelous Mushroom Sky Chrysanthemum, Snow-colored Swan Kiss, Water Immortal Jade Skin Bone, and Fragrant Silk Celestial Herbs among others.
He took these books back to their private room and began transcribing their contents meticulously.
Once he finished copying everything from the books, he returned them to their original places and tidied up before heading to the cafeteria for a meal. In the afternoon, Xu Yang returned to the library again to look for more interesting books.
Unfortunately, after some searching, he found nothing worthwhile.
Glancing outside at the dimming sky made him decide not to stay longer in the library; he wanted to check out his dormitory since he hadn't seen it yet after enrolling today—he had gone straight to class and then skipped out to read books without seeing where he would be living.
In front of the luxurious dormitory building at Tianwei level,
Xu Yang could only say how extravagant it looked! The building had three stories with six rooms on each floor—three on each side—providing ample space. Following the information on the wall, he headed toward Room 103.
Using his key to open Room 103 revealed a lavish living room complete with exquisite furniture—a study room, dining area, bedroom, and bathroom—all amenities were present.
"It feels less like school and more like a vacation!"
Actually, Xu Yang was mistaken; not all dormitories at Heaven Dou Royal Academy were like this—there were also more ordinary ones—but even those were far superior compared to other academies. He would later learn that his placement here was due to his status.
After taking a shower in his dormitory room, Xu Yang went out onto the balcony and summoned his martial soul again. It split into eight orbs as he began practicing.
"According to scientific theories from my past life, stars in the sky are all stars within the universe; even moonlight is emitted due to sunlight reflecting off surfaces—there's no reason I can't absorb this!"
Of course, this was merely an experiment; for now, there were no noticeable effects from it.
