Beside her, Robert saw himself—lying dead.
He took a step back but tripped and fell as he tried to move away.
Suddenly, a mysterious black fog began engulfing the entire city at an alarming speed. Before he could react, it swallowed him as well.
Where am I?
He wondered. Then, suddenly, a feminine voice spoke,
"In a sort of another dimension or parallel universe, Rohit."
A chair appeared behind him, and in front of him, a table materialized. Opposite him, another chair emerged, occupied by a woman.
She had golden hair, wore a red dress, and was taller than the average man in the world Robert was currently in.
"You know my real name?" Robert asked.
"Why wouldn't I?" she replied.
"Ugh! Just tell me!" Robert yelled in frustration.
The woman's eyes widened at his outburst. She raised her hand, pointing at Robert, then slowly lowered it.
Robert suddenly felt an immense pressure pressing down on him, forcing him to his knees.
"Don't you have the manners to speak properly to a lady like me?" she said coldly.
"Oh... Forgive me," Robert replied in a neutral tone, though his body ached from the invisible force.
The woman raised an eyebrow, then withdrew her arm. The pressure on Robert instantly vanished, allowing him to breathe freely again.
"Now, to answer your question," she continued. "Every living being above the Dimensional Level of an Archangel knows that you're from the other side."
"I see… Can I ask another question?" Robert asked.
She nodded, allowing him to proceed.
"What I saw earlier—was it the present, a dream, or a glimpse of the future?"
"It was a glimpse of the future," she answered.
"Then, are you willing to hel—" Robert started, but she interrupted him.
"No, not in the slightest. I'm showing you this out of empathy. You were summoned here without preparation or the magical knowledge that other outsiders are usually given," she said firmly.
"At least tell me the date," Robert asked, hoping to prepare for what was coming.
"I won't give you the exact date, but it will happen somewhere within the next three to four months."
She then sighed. "It seems my dimensional energy is depleting. I must go now. Let's see if we meet again."
Before Robert could respond, the woman vanished.
He woke up abruptly, got out of bed, and walked over to the window of his apartment, looking out at his peaceful town.
"I will save this town."
