Chapter 48 - USJ

Astolfo stood with his classmates, eagerly waiting for their teacher. Today was the pseudo field trip to the USJ, also known as the Unforeseen Simulation Joint.

"What manly things are they gonna teach us?" Kirishima asked, his excitement palpable.

"Well, it's a rescue training facility. So, most likely, we'll learn about the correct methods for saving people—managing crowds, assessing civilian injuries, how to find and rescue people trapped under rubble, and probably some basics of first aid," Momo replied thoughtfully.

Astolfo nodded, taking in Momo's words. He had never really learned any of this before. As a paladin of Charlemagne, most of his knowledge revolved around combat and knightly conduct. This would be a whole new world of information for him.

After a few more minutes of discussing the upcoming events, a UA High campus bus pulled up in front of them.

"Get in," Aizawa said with his signature lazy drawl.

"Okay, class! We need to embark on this heroic expedition in a manner that exemplifies the prestige of UA High!" Iida announced, his voice enthusiastic and commanding. "As you can see in the pamphlet I handed you, here's the proper seating arrangement for our bus trip! Please extend the stairs as listed!" He karate-chopped the air dramatically, embodying his typical robotic style.

Mina, standing next to Astolfo, let out a groan of exasperation. "I feel like the class rep is a real buzzkill sometimes. We're in high school! Even with what Aizawa-sensei said about needing to be prepared because we're in the big leagues now, I feel like he still needs to relax a bit."

Astolfo nodded, still trying to get a handle on his heightened teenage hormones. The embarrassing fact that he hadn't told anyone he wasn't a girl lingered in the back of his mind. For now, he was using the gender-neutral bathrooms, which, according to other students, were designed specifically for those with mutation quirks that made them essentially genderless, or for special cases like his.

Astolfo had created a really cool hero costume for his time in this world. It was super stylish—basically like the Pink Ranger's outfit, but without the helmet. At first, it had more elaborate elements, but the more Astolfo used his quirk, the more he realized that all those extra bits and bobs were unnecessary and even hindering him.

The only accessory he kept was a lance—a bright pink lance that he had commissioned from a new friend in the support classroom. What was his name again? Izo... Uzaw... Eh, didn't matter. Astolfo had decided to just call him "Greeny."

"Hey, Astolfo, are you listening?" Mina shook his shoulder, pulling him out of his thoughts. They were the only two still outside the bus, and their teacher was giving them the "get on the bus now, or I'm going to give you detention" look.

Chuckling awkwardly, Astolfo hopped onto the bus and took a seat. Apparently, Iida's pamphlet didn't matter; the bus's layout was completely different from what he had provided.

The class went on to discuss all sorts of topics, but Astolfo wasn't really paying attention. He was lost in thoughts about his performance in their last heroics class. His old costume had caused so many problems that he couldn't even use his quirk properly. It was embarrassing, especially since he had let Ochaco down. Iida and Bakugo had completely overpowered the two of them because of his inexperience with how his quirk worked.

**Time skip:**

When they arrived at the USJ, the class was practically bubbling with excitement, but Astolfo still wasn't really listening.

All these teenage' emotions were conflicting with his adult soul. "I thought the transition was supposed to be seamless. I'm pretty sure that's what the monkey guy said. Maybe there's something else wrong with me. I haven't really figured out what the downside of my quirk is yet; maybe that has something to do with it?"

As Astolfo's mind continued to linger on other things, the class and their teachers moved inside the USJ, with Astolfo being idly pulled by Mina behind her. She had realized that he had a lot on his mind and decided that she would inquire about his problems later.

Astolfo was abruptly awakened from his thoughts With the combination of mina shaking him and the cries of alarm and confusion from both the students and teachers around him.

Jumping to action Astolfo Equipped his Lance and prepared to fight. Surveying the area and Noting the villains in the vicinity Astolfo didn't notice the portals beginning to form behind him before long. It was too late him and Mina disappeared.

As the purple black fog dissolved from their eyes, the two of them were witnessed to a giant pool beneath them. At first they thought they were going to be fine, but as they continued to stare down, they saw a large number of sharp teeth As a shark like man jumped out of the water. Opening his giant maw to swallow them hole.

Without hesitation Astolfo Brandished his lance like a club and smashed the top of the guy's head, knocking him out instantly. Before any comment of relief could be made the two of them hit the water. A brief spike of pain shot through their bodies they had basically belly flopped into this pool. The slight shock took a second for them to shake off. But as they came back to awareness, they saw dozens of aquatic villains surrounding them.

Mina was Useless here, her acid was completely neutralized by the water. So it was up to Astolfo And his lance. His glitter cannons were as useless as Mina's acid.

But before Their adversaries could lay a finger on them, a slimy, wet, pink tongue wrapped around both of them and pulled them out of the water onto a cruise ship that was floating in the center of the pool.

"Well This Sucks." Mina Said as She looked down at the army Of aquatic based villains.

=Authors note=

I'm back. I know it's been a couple of months since I updated the story and it's a combination of writers block and the fact that it was too hot To go on my customary writing walks. You're probably wondering, why is this chapter so short? well blamed my editing software decided It didn't want to work anymore so I'm going to leave the chapter on a cliffhanger and make Another short chapter Next week. If you think this chapter sucks, I agree. This chapter is basically just Set up for the Midoriya Systems future actions and it was only supposed to be one chapter long, but like I said, editing software decided to not like me anymore. So if you did enjoy, I'm glad you enjoyed. Please get out there and change the world. There's a lot of bad things happening and good people are dying for a better tomorrow.
