Revenge of Chaos Insurgency
Chapter 3: "Offensive Initiative
Waking up in my bed, it's still very early; the sun hasn't risen yet. Sitting on the bed's edge, I relax before going outside to take a breather at dawn. It feels cold yet relaxing; no wonder some of my teammates sleep much longer, because the environment is very good for sleeping and forgetting everything.
Walking to the entrance, I see a child hugging his teddy bear while sleeping; it reminds me of when I was still at the orphanage before I was adopted by my current parents.
Patting the child's head, I can feel his breathing was slow, deep in sleep, forgetting everything that happened in reality, hiding here from the chaos and the cruel reality. After patting the child's head, I head towards the rooftop. On the way there, some soldiers from T.O.P Shoota are lying around the hallway, tired and lost hope in the war. It makes sense because they keep on losing after the T.O.P-GOC war started, suffering endless defeat and huge casualties in the war, while the GOC suffers nothing except supplies and ammo. What a terrible condition for one side! From the beginning of the war, the T.O.P. was never prepared for a long-term war, which resulted in a big loss, losing many territories and soldiers that got captured, only to be turned into POWs, waiting for an unknown fate.
Arriving at the rooftop, I take out my binoculars and look in the direction of Bastion Delta. Looking at the east of the Bastion Delta, I can see the cartel struggling to attack with its base that has been bombarded by the GOC, along with local riot police who laugh and take a breath with the elimination of the cartel in the area. If we keep wasting time, then we're just waiting until we are the next target.
Astonished by the view in the morning, I can only whistle and look at the view. The GOC wants to burn and turn all this beautiful sight to ashes because they believe that all people living here are cartel members or gangsters. What a stupid reason to start a war, like World War II, huh? Blaming the Jews because they are the reason why Germany lost WW1, while the reason they lost was because the United States joined, and the Germans fought on too many fronts. Sure, they might have won the eastern front, but the western front? Their allies suck.
Returning to the barracks, one by one, soldiers wake up and head to wash their faces and prepare to face the offense. Ignoring the others, I head towards the gun storage, pick up my MK-18, and take the mag. While reloading each mag with bullets, I noticed something off on the wall. I scratch it, and it starts to peel off, and I immediately hit the wall with the back of the weapon until it reveals a big hole. Grabbing my radio, I immediately contact my captain.
"Captain Allen, this is Lee Han Min. I found something off with the gun storage. Can you take some soldiers here?"
At first, Captain Allen didn't respond, but after waiting for a few minutes, his captain responded.
"Copy, I'm coming."
Waiting for a few minutes, Captain Allen arrives with First Lieutenants Kiriyama and Tachibana.
Captain Allen speaks with me and asks what I want to show him, pointing at the hole. Captain Allen, in suspicion, immediately takes out his club mace and destroys the wall, revealing a tunnel. Taking out his flashlight, Captain Allen entered the tunnel along with me and First Lieutenant Kiriyama. Walking deep into the tunnel, we arrived at a secret hideout full of documents and Morse code. We three could only guess that this place was used by a GOC spy or a traitor. Inspecting the room, we found some evidence, such as corruption done by the T.O.P. leadership and some fuckers who sent information to the GOC for money worth 1 million dollars. Taking the evidence with us, we returned to the gun storage and closed the wall, pretending never to have encountered it. Captain Allen reminded me and First Lieutenant Kiriyama to keep this a secret and never tell others about it.
A few hours later, we arrive at the Bastion Delta, and sure enough, the operation turns into a massacre. The militia was too weak; they couldn't even use their guns properly, and some even died because the guns jammed and malfunctioned. The gun part jammed, and the militia only ended up as meat bags. Killed by the bunker guard, the machine gun; from the 10,000 militia we have, only 100 survived. The others didn't survive as they charged relentlessly, sacrificing their lives for nothing, while their leader was not incompetent. They only care about their lives, and when they don't see any chance of winning, they immediately run away, leaving their soldiers to die on the battlefield. Our company only watches from afar and observes the Bastion soldier. How many are there? It turns out that only a company consists of 200 soldiers and is commanded by a captain and a major. Both the captain and major utilize their troops perfectly, not like the T.O.P. militia that charges relentlessly only to be turned into meat.
Returning to the base, the militia who survived the massacre commit suicide as they lost hope of winning; they would rather commit suicide than get tortured by the GOC or sent somewhere far away.
While their leader is sending someone to get more militia from residents under their control, which makes our company lose patience.
At night, The wind are colder than usual, it's not a problem but something haunt me, the scream of the militia before get killed haunt me, but I immediately ignore it and focus on the mission, Captain Allen and First Lieutenant Kiriyama Tachibana discussing their plan and they decide to do it alone without the T.O.P help at all which make sense as they have 250 compare to GOC soldier on Bastion Delta which is only 200, they both discuss either send help to HQ sending us a plane which we will use to parachute into the bastion or we will attack at nights time, one of our soldier scout the bastion and found out they didn't patrol at night because they thought T.O.P will never have chance to capture and occupy this bastion.
A few days later, we separate from The T.O.P. and do it ourselves in our way; later, we arrive at the Bastion at a safe distance, waiting for them to be unaware of our position here. Soon enough, the light goes out, a signal that they have to go to sleep. Walking slowly into the base, we immediately use the grappling hook and climb the wall. Entering the bastion, we slowly move to the bastion. Capturing each soldier we found and arresting them with handcuffs, before suddenly the bastion's alarm system activated and gave our location immediately, noticing a camera watching us, First Lieutenant Kiriyama immediately shot it and told his team to immediately run and hide for cover while Captain Allen told his team to immediately seize control of the command center so this bastion would not receive any reinforcement.
The situation turns into full chaos. The GOC soldier immediately rushes at our position with a riot shield and shotgun; some even use an M4A1 on us. Our team immediately shoots back. The combat medic uses the shotgun with slug shells to counter the riot shield, and sure enough, the riot shield gets penetrated, killing the operator who uses it.
Just 6 minutes later, the control room is under our control, and the GOC soldiers didn't get any reinforcements, and sure enough, out of 200 soldiers, 50 soldiers who survived surrender because they ran out of ammo or they are just medics, and the GOC flag has fallen, and the Chaos Insurgency Flag is risen, changing the GOC flag. Now the bastion is really under our control, and we have finally liberated one section.
A few hours later, the bastion is now under our control; we must defend it for now, and sure enough, a GOC force worth 1 battalion immediately attacks our bastion, trying to capture it back.
The GOC forces start bombarding the bastion and attack with full force at the bastion. We got overwhelmed by the GOC forces, but we didn't give up. We kept defending the bastion until a few hours later, when the GOC forces started to retreat due to their policy and military code.
And when they retreat, all of us sigh in relief, and now we can use this bastion as a supply route to the T.O.P. bunker, and the T.O.P. leaders claim they ordered this mission, which makes us angry; we lose 20 confirmed KIA agents. We didn't receive any new reinforcements as the Chaos Insurgency HQ in Sector Atharva constantly gets attacked by the GOC forces and thus makes our condition suck. With the incompetent T.O.P. leadership and claims that the operation is under their control, which is not true, it's an operation we launch ourselves. We lose 20 KIA soldiers, and we show hatred towards the T.O.P. leaders. On the other hand, with the successful operation, the T.O.P. recruitment of militia has increased to the rate of 120%, and the T.O.P. has now recruited 50,000 more militia than the GOC soldiers themselves, as they have only 1 company.
Thinking about the secret room again late at night, I still think, who is the traitor, and is the corruption true? That's still hanging in my mind, but for now, I have to rest and forget it because it's not important for now; the night is cold now, as the echoes of my friends and soldiers screaming for help in hell.
