Chapter 248 - The Truth Nobody Wanted

Aamir returned to Edrin's house sometime in the afternoon. He had spent most of the morning in the forest, and by the time he reached the city again, his clothes were covered with dirt and a few small tears from the branches he had passed through. He wasn't injured, but he looked like someone who had spent several hours fighting instead of walking.

The first thing he noticed when he entered the house was Kunal sitting at the table. He had several old papers spread in front of him, and his expression told Aamir that he had found something important.

Kunal looked up. "Finally. Where the hell were you?"

Aamir pulled out a chair and sat down. "In the forest."

"I figured that much."

"I found a village."

Kunal's eyebrows lifted. "A village?"

"Yeah. It's hidden pretty deep inside the jungle. They don't have much, but there are a few hundred people living there."

Kunal pushed some of the papers aside. "And?"

"They don't worship Lodin."

That immediately caught Kunal's attention.
