Chapter 467 - Ch 467 : Su Yuan, shouldn’t you be expressing some gratitude to me?

Even in his previous world, Su Yuan had never experienced an avalanche before.

That was normal enough—after all, skiing was a sport with a high cost and steep entry barrier, something most ordinary people had likely never tried.

So when Su Yuan saw the massive avalanche and landslide roaring down, he was completely dumbfounded…

Even though there were several Vision holders in the party, before the overwhelming force of nature, their power seemed insignificant…

What struck Su Yuan the most, however, was Albetwo's behavior.

It didn't feel like he had lost control and fallen into an eerie state on his own—instead, it seemed more like he had been polluted and controlled by some external Eerie power…

And hadn't Albetwo just mentioned Dottore?

What puzzled Su Yuan even further was that in his final moments, the eerie power on Albetwo's body had completely dissipated, his sanity had returned, and he had clearly told everyone that the Albedo at their side wasn't the real Albedo…

Su Yuan had long suspected that the Albedo among them wasn't genuine, but had lacked any solid proof.

Yet now, Albetwo's dying words had only deepened his suspicion…

But Su Yuan had no time to discuss any of this with the others, because the avalanche and landslide had already struck with full force, thundering down right in front of them.

Everyone was swept away, scattered, their survival unknown and their whereabouts uncertain…

Su Yuan felt his head spinning, then everything went black as he lost consciousness…

When Su Yuan awoke again, he didn't feel the familiar dread and heart-pounding sensation—meaning he was still alive, and his death-rewind ability hadn't been triggered.

Struggling, he clawed away the snow and dirt pressing down on his body, finally managing to crawl out with great effort…

He gasped heavily for breath, filled with the feeling of narrowly surviving a calamity.

Thankfully, he hadn't been buried too deep in the snow, and his head had remained exposed, so he hadn't suffocated…

After resting briefly, Su Yuan called out loudly into the surroundings:

"Hey—anyone there? Is everyone alright?"

But no matter how much he shouted, only the howling wind answered him—there was no response from anyone else…

Su Yuan thought to himself that it seemed he and the others had been scattered by the avalanche.

He had no idea what their current situation was, or whether they were even safe…

But no matter what, blindly searching now was out of the question.

The best plan was to head down the mountain to the base camp and see if anyone had already made it back there to wait…

After all, Su Yuan didn't even know how long he had been unconscious…

But just as Su Yuan was about to follow the mountain path down, a tall figure appeared before him, smiling as he spoke:

"Su Yuan, long time no see. We meet again…"

"And it looks like my luck is rather good—no one's around to get in the way, giving me another chance to be alone with you!"

Seeing the figure before him, Su Yuan's anger flared instantly, and he snapped:

"Dottore!!! So this is your doing again???"

"Heh, Su Yuan, don't get so worked up the moment you see me," Dottore chuckled, then continued:

"I never intended to be your enemy. On the contrary, I've always wanted to become true friends with you—to exchange insights and study the power of the Eerie together…"

"But if you keep refusing to cooperate, then I'll simply have no choice but to take… certain special, forceful measures."

"Dottore, keep dreaming!" Su Yuan retorted bluntly.

"There's no way I'd ever become friends with someone like you!!!"

"Su Yuan, no matter what you think, I still intend to show you my sincerity."

Dottore didn't seem at all surprised by Su Yuan's rejection.

His tone remained calm as he continued:

"For example, right now, I can answer your doubts. The Albedo traveling with you—whether he's the real Albedo or not. And if the one by your side is a fake, then where is the real Albedo?"

Hearing Dottore's words, Su Yuan felt that maybe he could pretend to go along with him for now—draw out some intel from him first, and then find a way to trigger his death-rewind…

But Su Yuan also knew this was a gamble.

After all, he had already used up one of his death-rewinds earlier today to confirm the conditions under which Mona would fall into Eerie state…

But no matter what, Su Yuan still very much wanted to know where the real Albedo was…

Seeing that Su Yuan didn't immediately object, Dottore continued:

"In truth, the Albedo traveling with you is nothing more than a clone of Albetwo. Albetwo's true body already self-detonated and perished just now."

"I had thought that even though Albetwo was merely a defective experiment, he at least had talent—enough to replicate my segment technique. But it turns out, I still overestimated him."

"What he created can only be considered ordinary clones. He never truly separated each one into independent beings…"

"I originally believed his technique could give me reference points to refine my own segment technology, but now it seems I gave him far too much credit…"

"As expected, trash is trash. A defective product has no reason to exist."

"So, after using the Eerie power to control him, I had him remain somewhere obvious, luring you all in. Then I used his self-destruction to trigger the avalanche and landslide that scattered your group…"

"To this point, everything has gone exactly as I anticipated."

Dottore spoke slowly, then added:

"So you see, Su Yuan, you can't blame everything on me. I only just stepped into the game. Everything before this? That was all Albetwo's doing."

"Then tell me," Su Yuan pressed bluntly, "after saying all that—where is the real Albedo now?"

"Although I don't think much of Albedo's so-called academic achievements, I am very interested in his physical existence itself…"

As he spoke, Dottore pulled out a lump of pure white, dazzlingly radiant earth, displaying it before Su Yuan.

"Albedo has reverted back to his original form—the so-called immaculate soil: 'Chalk.'"

"Albetwo intended to refine and absorb Albedo, to make himself the truly perfect creation, completely replacing Albedo's existence…"

"But now, I've eliminated Albetwo and saved Albedo. So, in a sense, Su Yuan—shouldn't you be expressing a little gratitude toward me?"
