Chapter 10 - Unanswered question

Han had gone to the place where he had been questioned.

—Look, I think there's a fight.

It was park that he had questioned the inspector on the rafts that there was outside.

Choi —a fight, rather a weakness between kids, yes.

Han watched through the window mistreated students, mistreated students in others. It was a horrible sight to see. But unfortunately, it was a common show in most establishments in this country. Harassment was borderline fashion. The weakest that is humiliated by the strongest is the world in which we live.

What are they doing to him? It's horrible.

Park again, questioned by the inspector.

—Madam in front of us intervened.

Choi to whom we had not asked anything to get there.

—Why get involved in the children's entries? It's just kids having fun.

Han wondered how we could call this children's trifles. It was a relentlessness on this poor little one. No matter what he had done, no one deserved to be pushed and mocked so much by a group of individuals. There were no excuses, there was nothing like children's jokes. She was outraged and stunned by her colleague's words. But she decided not to speak, to ignore him.

But Park had decided not to ignore him.

—We didn't ask you for your opinion.

He should learn to shut his mouth. Always to be interesting.

Choi again, —I give my opinion when I want where I want what are you going to do.

Park didn't like Choi, he found him arrogant and pretentious. Or maybe there was another reason that everyone didn't know.

Lee, who had been there for a while, observed all these scenes that he found very interesting. Park and Choi were arguing about a subject that was not very interesting to him.

Lee was the kind of person who thought he was superior or even better than everyone else.

—I think it's more than a children's fight or trifles as you like to call them.

It was again Park who questioned Choi about his stupidity.

Throughout their stupid argument, Han had disappeared.

—Where is the inspector? Where is Han? Lee intervened.

—During your bullshit, the inspector decided to go and intervene. —If you look out the window, you will already see where she is.

Through the window, they could see Han in the middle of his young people pulling the victim and trying to console him.

Lee continued — I didn't know that in our premises we had Tom and Jerry. You're always there arguing as if there was cheese missing. He deliberately mocked them.

First-level idiots.

Coming from him, no one could be surprised. They felt better than them.

When Han returned, she ignored her colleagues and began to leaf through her notes, the light noise of the pages turned resounding in the ambient silence when a young boy approached her with a palpable hesitation.

His face was marked by a combination of worry and determination, and he presented himself as a friend of Jimin Lee, looking down, as if he was carrying the weight of a heavy secret to reveal. The atmosphere around them seemed to densify, each word he was going to say promising to reveal layers of information that could advance the investigation.

—Inspector, hello I am Dong Hyun a friend of Jimin Lee I would like to talk to you.

The inspector nodded allowing her to sit down before starting

—First of all, the accusations about drugs are false. Jimin Lee did not do drugs. She has never been involved in this kind of thing. I don't know exactly the reasons that pushed him to leave his old school, but I'm sure it wasn't drugs. For that you should ask Mr. Park, he was also in his old school.

So Park hides information from us

The inspector carefully noted her words.—What can you tell me about their relationships?

Dong Hyun took a deep breath - Jimin and MR Park were not that close. She found him suspicious and strange, she often told me to avoid him. But she never gave me details about her suspicions.

—Interesting, yet this is not what Jihye Choi the victim's cousin says, she told us the opposite of what you said. Asked the inspector

—I'm not even surprised that she's trying to dirty her name.

He pronounced these words with bitterness

— Why doesn't that shock you?

Intrigued Choi intervened for the rest

Dong Hyun, looked Choi in the eyes with determination and replied -Because they had hated each other since they were children, Jimin thought that Jihye cheated in exams. She had the impression that Jihye had found a way to always have good grades without really studying seriously and also that the members of the SO were also cheaters, she had told me that Jisoo had told her straight in her eyes that she did not like him. Jimin was convinced that this school was full of corruption and cheating. Maybe that's why she came here, to prove that the school is not reliable.

The inspector added her new elements to her notes.—So Jimin Lee suspected his cousin and Jisoo of having found a way to manipulate their results.

—Yes ma'am, she wanted to prove that there were cheaters in this school.

At the same time, Ms. Kim appeared in the room to be questioned in turn.

—Mrs. Kim, thank you for coming so quickly we know you are very busy. Said Choi before asking him to take a seat next to Dong Hyun

The inspector began her interrogation with an open-ended question

—What can you tell us about Jimin Lee?

Ms. Kim took a few minutes before answering —Jimin Lee was a brilliant and determined student. She often came to me to discuss her investigations and suspicions.

—You were aware of his suspicions about cheating and corruption in the school?

—Yes, she told me about it several times. She thought that the notes were manipulated to benefit the children of influential families. She said that those who worked hard like her were always disadvantaged.

Choi continued - And what do you think of his accusations?

—I don't know what to think. Jimin Lee tended to see conspiracies everywhere, but I must admit that some of her arguments were convincing. She had collected evidence, copies of exams, and grade readings that showed anomalies.

The inspector gathered her thoughts before addressing Dong Hyun and Professor Kim.—Had Jimin Lee mentioned threats or suspicious behavior on the part of someone in the school?

Dong Hyun shook her head.—No, she never talked about direct threats. She was determined to prove her words.

Professor Kim added.—Jimin Lee had mentioned strange behavior on the part of some staff members, but she had no concrete evidence.

—Madam Inspector, I would like to add something I don't know if it could be useful. Said Dong Hyun

The inspector asked him to continue because any information is important and useful for the progress of the case

Dong Hyun took a deep breath — Jimin had told me about a woman who wanted to help him in his investigations.

—What is this woman's name and where do they know each other from? Asked the inspector

—uh...I don't know what her name is. But I think she might have been a former student of the school. To be continued

Choi turned to Professor Kim to ask her if she had no idea who it could be. She said no, but if someone comes to her mind, she will come back to them. After she took leave of them to return to her students.

The inspector continued the interrogation of Dong Hyun, she learned that Jimin Lee noted and recorded all his information in his phone and a notebook. They decided to release Dong Hyun after thanking him for his cooperation, the inspector asked him to call Park Jisoo, the president of the SO

After a few minutes of waiting, Park Jisoo appeared in front of the inspector. She refused to sit down, so the inspector promised her not to delay too much with the questions, specifying that it was just to clarify certain shadow areas.

—We learned that Jimin Lee was not close and the more you hate yourself, why?

Jisoo seemed bored to answer this question

—She was not loved here, she spent her time asking questions to everyone. I hate people who don't stay in their places.

—What do you mean by staying in his place?

Jisoo shrugged her shoulders, feigning indifference. - If I had been in her place and I had just arrived at a new school, I would avoid being noticed. But she was sticking her nose in other people's things.

—She is investigating a network of cheating. What do you think?

—Frankly, I find it annoying to see plots everywhere, and Even if there was a cheating network how news could have found evidence?

—Is there a Miss Park cheating network?

—No madam. Replied Jisoo firmly

— Okay Miss Park, thank you for giving us some of your precious time.

Meanwhile, Choi was looking for Mr. Park.

But this guy went where it's starting to nerve me
