Chapter 92 - CHAPTER 92

I Might Have Opened a Fake Mangekyō

"Where is he now?"

Xu Fan's voice was direct, his gaze fixed on Uchiha Itachi.

There were only a few hours left before the Uchiha clan launched their coup. If there was still a chance to stop it, time was of the essence.

If Fugaku truly wished to talk, Xu Fan would gladly listen.

"Follow me."

Uchiha Itachi gave a nod and motioned for Xu Fan to come with him.

Xu Fan didn't object, though he rolled his eyes behind Itachi's back. When I killed Danzō, I used this eye technique through my Wood Clone. There's no hiding anything from Itachi.

Soon, they arrived at a secluded cabin, hidden deep within the Uchiha district. Despite being on clan grounds, not a soul had noticed them. Xu Fan, aided by his Byakugan, was sure of it.

"My father's inside," Itachi said quietly, glancing at the sky. "We don't have much time."

As the Uchiha clan head, Fugaku couldn't disappear from the clan's view for too long—not without raising suspicions. The implication was clear: keep it short.

"Got it," Xu Fan replied briskly.

With the threat of war between Konoha and Kumogakure hanging in the air, Xu Fan believed that if the Uchiha had to die, they should at least die on the battlefield—not in a rebellion.

He stepped forward and pushed the cabin door open.

The room had no windows, dimly lit and sparsely furnished. But Xu Fan's Byakugan picked out Uchiha Fugaku immediately, seated on the only chair, hands folded, his expression heavy with worry.

Itachi entered behind him. "Father, Xu Fan is here."

"Senju…"

At the sight of Xu Fan, Fugaku's eyes briefly widened in surprise.

From what he knew, the Senju clan's most prized kekkei genkai was Wood Release. Byakugan, on the other hand, belonged to the Hyūga. Why would a Senju descendant have that?

But he quickly dismissed the thought. The Senju were known to marry widely, encouraged by the First Hokage himself. Perhaps one of his parents is a Hyūga.

"So… you're the one who convinced Itachi?" Fugaku asked, standing up, his voice low and unreadable.

"No," Xu Fan said, glancing at Itachi. "Itachi is an exceptional shinobi. Even without me, he would've sided with the village."

Fugaku's lips twitched with pride. As expected of my son. But pride couldn't change reality. No matter how great Itachi was, the clan saw him as a traitor.

Fugaku wouldn't have even agreed to this meeting if Itachi hadn't come clean—admitting that he and Xu Fan had killed Danzō together.

"I'll ask you plainly, Xu Fan," Fugaku said. "Can a member of the Uchiha clan ever become Hokage?"

Before Xu Fan could respond, Fugaku's eyes spun.

The three tomoe of his Sharingan morphed—twisting into the form of the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Fugaku had long been known for his genjutsu prowess. Now, with the Mangekyō, his power rivaled that of legends. In an instant, he cast an illusion directly onto Xu Fan.

But Xu Fan's Byakugan offered 360-degree vision and keen chakra perception. It didn't matter.

He didn't resist.

He didn't even blink.

"Relax, Itachi," Fugaku said, sensing his son's tension. "I don't intend to hurt him. I simply want him to see what the future could be, if we succeed."

"That's just an illusion," Itachi said sharply. "You know as well as I do—no genjutsu can show the real future. Not even Tsukuyomi."

The vision Fugaku created wasn't prophecy—it was fantasy.

As Itachi's Mangekyō activated, ready to counter, both father and son suddenly froze.

Yawn.

Xu Fan stretched and rubbed his eyes.

Fugaku: "???"

He stared at the boy in stunned disbelief.

"How… is that possible?" he muttered.

Even if he wasn't Shisui-level in genjutsu, this was still a Mangekyō-grade technique. This level of illusion could control the Nine-Tails itself!

And yet… Xu Fan showed no sign of being affected.

"I'm immune to genjutsu," Xu Fan said flatly. "So why don't you skip the theatrics and tell me what this 'glorious future' of yours looks like?"

Fugaku stared into Xu Fan's eyes. The boy didn't flinch. He looked directly at his Mangekyō Sharingan, without fear.

Did I really awaken the Mangekyō? Did my genjutsu even activate…?

"Nothing to say?" Xu Fan shook his head. "Then let me tell you what's going to happen."

"If you launch this coup, the Uchiha district will be surrounded by ANBU and Root. Blood will flow like a river. Corpses will pile in the streets."

"Not just your fighters—but the elderly, women, children. They'll be slaughtered."

He turned to Itachi, expression darkening. "You want to see that, Itachi? You taking arms against your own family? Against your wife?"

"Maybe even Sasuke will die."

Itachi's hands clenched.

"Is that the pain you want your son to live with, Fugaku?" Xu Fan asked. "Because that's the path you're on."

He took a step forward.

"Face it—you don't have the strength to win. Not even close. You think the clan can beat the whole village?"

"No. You won't even need the ANBU or Root."

"Itachi and I alone could wipe out the Uchiha clan."

Fugaku stared in stunned silence.

After a long pause, he muttered, "Do you really think it's about strength?"

"You don't understand anything."

"If it were just about battle power, we wouldn't need a coup in the first place."

"Then tell me," Xu Fan said, his voice steady. "Why are you being excluded from the village?"
