Ethan stood a small distance away from Irina as they looked at the ocean, as they had been for the past twenty minutes.
She was going to call in a favor but Ethan was wondering how, there was no phone on her, or any communication device.
She just approached the waves and stood there, as if they were waiting for someone or something. Ethan resisted the urge to ask if she really had a way to get them off this island.
But just to be sure, he whispered to Athena, "is there any other way off here?"
{There're no conventional routes,} Athena replied instantly in his earpiece. {No docks, no functional boats, no aerial pads. The only entire island is…} She paused briefly.
{It seems something is approaching your location, from the skies} she informed after a short while.
"What is it?" He asked.
{It seems like a—} before Athena could complete her words, the sound of rotors spinning from afar reached him.
