Chapter 28 - Chapter 13: Battle with the Inner Darkness

---

Scene 1: Leon vs. His Inner Darkness

Location: Leon's Mindscape – Between Light and Void

Light and shadow spiraled in a weightless abyss.

Leon stood face to face with… himself.

Not Umbra—

But the darkest part of his own soul.

> "I won't accept you!" Leon shouted.

The dark version of himself smirked.

> "You don't have a choice. I am a part of you."

Leon's fists clenched, his breathing sharp.

> "I'll never become darkness."

The shadow laughed, echoing across the endless space.

> "You already have. You just refuse to accept it."

Leon faltered—just for a second.

The power inside him… was never pure light.

It pulsed with shadows. It always had.

> Does that make me evil?

He didn't know.

Then, an answer rose from within:

> "I can use darkness… without becoming it."

The shadow raised its hand, forming a blade of black fire.

> "Then prove it."

Leon summoned his own weapon—

a blade of fused light and shadow, glowing with harmony.

> "This is my trial. And I will win."

The final duel began.

Scene 2: Elliot & Seraphine – Shadows at the Tower's Peak

Location: Tower of London Rooftop – Midnight

Though Leon's battle raged inside his soul, chaos consumed the outer world.

Elliot and Seraphine stood on the Tower's edge, gazing across a city drenched in blood and silence.

> "Umbra is drawing power from the heart of the city," Seraphine muttered.

Elliot's knuckles whitened.

> "We need to help Leon…"

But something stirred beneath them—

a pulse of ancient darkness, rising from the earth.

> "Something else is coming," Seraphine whispered.

From the depths emerged a monstrous figure—

a Guardian of the Shadow—one of the forgotten horrors once sealed beneath the city.

> "Did you think Umbra was ever truly alone?"

Seraphine drew her dagger, her breath steady.

> "Demon."

Elliot raised his radiant weapon.

> "Then we fight."

The sky cracked as a new war began.

Scene 3: The Final Exchange

Location: Leon's Mindscape

Leon and his dark self moved faster than thought—

a storm of mirrored slashes, each one ripping the void around them.

Leon's pulse pounded in his ears.

His blade—a harmony of light and dark—burned brighter with each strike.

> "I'll destroy you!" Leon roared.

But the shadow just smirked again.

> "You can't destroy me. I am you."

Then—realization struck.

Leon's eyes widened.

> "You're not my enemy."

He stepped back.

His blade lowered.

> "You're… my reflection."

The shadow nodded.

> "You finally understand."

Leon took a deep breath. Then—

he didn't fight the darkness.

He embraced it.

And in that moment, the inner void bloomed into a sphere of balance—

not purity, not corruption—just clarity.

He wasn't choosing between light or shadow.

He was both.

His form shimmered with radiant contrast.

He opened his eyes—

And found Umbra standing before him once more.

> "What…?" Umbra muttered, for the first time… shaken.

Leon smiled.

> "Now I've found my true strength."

---

End of Chapter

Leon didn't defeat the darkness.

He claimed it.

He balanced it.

Above the city, Elliot and Seraphine face a new, monstrous threat—

a guardian older and crueler than Umbra himself.

But down below, something deeper has changed.

Umbra, the embodiment of cosmic darkness,

is no longer sure…

That he stands alone.
