Chapter 41 - GRATITUDE IN SILENCE

Five minutes later, Nuriana's car finally arrived at Hadiyaksa Hospital, swiftly followed by Diana's vehicle, both speeding towards the emergency entrance.

As the car came to a halt, Nuriana wasted no time. She flung open the door and leapt out, her face drawn with panic.

Yono, ever quick to act, was not far behind, assisting in lifting Havi, who lay limp in his arms, still unconscious.

A hospital security officer, who had noticed the commotion, rushed over without hesitation, "What's happened, Miss?" he asked, his voice a blend of authority and concern.

"He fainted! Please, you must help us!" Nuriana answered, her words tumbling out in a rush, her eyes never leaving Havi's fragile form in Yono's arms.

The security officer immediately called for reinforcements, and soon, several nurses appeared, their expressions serious and composed, ready to offer their assistance.

"Take him to the emergency room, quickly!" ordered one of the nurses, clearing a path for Yono and the security officers as they carefully transported Havi.

Nuriana, her heart racing, hurried to follow.

Inside the emergency room, the nurses began their work without delay, performing a rapid assessment.

Yono and Nuriana, standing just outside the room, exchanged anxious glances but were at a loss for words.

The events had unfolded so swiftly, leaving them both bewildered and uncertain.

Meanwhile, Diana's car, which had been carrying Havi's parents, Mr. Ridho and Mrs. Saras, arrived at the hospital shortly after.

They hurriedly exited the vehicle and made their way to the emergency entrance.

Mr. Ridho's face was etched with worry, while Mrs. Saras struggled to maintain her composure, though her concern was evident in every line of her face.

"They're attending to Havi in the emergency room," Yono said, addressing them with a quick nod as he observed their arrival.

"Please wait here, Mr. Ridho, Mrs. Saras. They are assessing his condition."

Mr. Ridho nodded silently, though his eyes were clouded with unease, "Havi... how could this have happened?" he murmured, lowering his gaze in helplessness.

Mrs. Saras, her hand gently clasped around her husband's, offered him a soft but reassuring smile, "We must trust the doctors. They will know what to do," she said, her voice calm yet tinged with the same worry that gripped her heart.

Meanwhile, Diana stood by the window in the waiting room, her gaze fixed on the world outside, though her thoughts were far from the scene before her.

'What is really going on, Havi?' she thought, the question repeating in her mind like an echo.

'What do you know about her? What is it that he's not telling us?'

But no answers came, only silence, heavy and suffocating.

One of the nurses emerged from the emergency room and, noticing Nuriana and Yono anxiously waiting, made her way towards them.

Her expression was grave, her steps purposeful.

"Miss, is your name Nuriana?" she asked, her voice gentle but measured.

Nuriana, still bewildered, nodded, "Yes, I am Nuriana. What's happened?"

"The patient, Havi, he's been calling your name and repeatedly thanking you. We're concerned this might have a negative impact on his condition," the nurse explained, her tone laden with concern.

"Perhaps you could try speaking with him. He seems to be reaching out to you."

Confusion clouded Nuriana's mind, but the overwhelming worry for Havi spurred her into action, "Alright, I'll go to him," she replied, though her voice quivered slightly despite her best efforts to remain composed.

Yono, who had been silently watching, met her gaze with a seriousness that made his concern evident, "Be careful, Miss," he cautioned. "Don't rush."

She nodded, her heart pounding, and quickly made her way towards the emergency room.

Standing before the door, Nuriana paused for a moment, taking a deep breath to steady her racing thoughts.

Something about the entire situation felt wrong, a sense of unease gnawing at her. But she could not turn away now.

With one final breath, she opened the door and entered.

Inside, Havi lay unconscious on the bed, his eyes shut tight.

But his lips moved incessantly, as though he could not stop speaking, even in his state.

"Thank you... Nuriana... Thank you..."

The words echoed in Nuriana's mind, leaving her feeling both confused and unsettled.

Why was Havi thanking her? Why her? They had only just met.

She stood by the bed, her hands trembling as she took hold of Havi's limp, unresponsive hand.

"Havi..." she whispered softly, her voice barely a breath. "Havi, why do you keep saying that? What is going on?"

Havi, in his weakened state, did not respond.

The words continued to fall from his lips in a soft, rhythmic chant, "Thank you... Nuriana... Thank you..."

A hollow ache formed in Nuriana's chest. She did not understand.

The gratitude Havi expressed was both unnerving and puzzling.

She squeezed Havi's hand tighter, as though trying to anchor herself in the midst of this inexplicable situation.

The nurse returned, her presence almost unnoticed in the stillness of the room.

She observed the scene briefly before speaking again, "We haven't discovered the cause yet, Miss. We'll continue with further examinations, but it seems the stress from earlier and the events that transpired might have had a significant impact on his condition," the nurse explained quietly.

Still, Havi continued to murmur, "Thank you... Nuriana... Thank you..."

Nuriana's heart tightened painfully at the words, "Why, Havi?" she murmured to herself, her voice nearly breaking. "Why are you saying this?"

An unexplainable bond seemed to form in the silence between them, one that Nuriana couldn't quite grasp.

What had caused Havi to speak her name with such gratitude?

She stood there, uncertain, her eyes locked on Havi's frail form, searching for answers in the stillness of his face, but finding only more questions.
