Chapter 116 - The Guy Without Life’s Light

The guy was blind. But you wouldn't know it from the way he moved. His steps were steady, confident, like he had perfect vision. He walked straight toward the table in the corner, right to the tray where a pitcher and glass sat waiting. Every movement was precise, like his eyes still worked just fine. Like he knew this room better than anyone alive.

Kael slumped against the cold stone wall, barely hanging on. His head felt like it weighed a ton, eyelids drooping again and again, but he forced himself to stay awake. His vision was fuzzy, but not so far gone that he missed the way the blind guy reached for the pitcher and poured water into the glass, without spilling a single drop.
