The dorm hall was quiet, the kind of silence that pressed in at night when most students were asleep. Alexa strutted down the corridor with purpose, her phone clutched tightly in her hand. Behind her, Alexis dragged her feet, arms folded, her face twisted in irritation.
"Do we really have to do this now?" Alexis hissed, her voice a sharp whisper. "Hazel's probably asleep, and honestly—I'm not trying to get caught up in one of her midnight drama sessions."
Alexa rolled her eyes without slowing. "Trust me, once she sees what I've got, she won't care if I woke her at three in the morning."
Alexis frowned, quickening her steps to keep up. "What do you even have? You've been smirking like a psycho since dinner."
