Chapter 73 - As Long As I’m Here

Logan swung his leg over the motorcycle, the leather creaking under his weight. His jaw was set tight, but his chest burned with something heavier than anger.

She lied.

The words replayed over and over, harsher than the cold night air that cut against his skin as he twisted the key and the engine roared to life. He gripped the handles tighter, forcing his gaze ahead, refusing to look back at the girl standing behind him in the park.

He couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe he let himself drown in her eyes, her laugh, her warmth. He should've known better. He did know better. But he still let her in.

The memory hit him before he could push it down.

The alley was narrow, the kind of place where shadows swallowed the light and silence pressed heavy against the walls. The smell of damp brick and old trash clung to the air, thick enough to choke on.
