Chapter 75 - More Than Anyone Ever Had

She was transfixed. He stared at her, an almost unseeable smirk tugging at his lips before he lifted the glass in his hand and sipped leisurely. Something about him looked… different tonight. His dark hair, usually perfectly styled, was slightly tousled, and the top two buttons of his shirt hung loose, revealing just enough to make him look effortlessly undone. The change only heightened his allure.

He lifted his chin, gesturing for her to come closer. Swallowing hard, Harper's feet carried her to the bar almost against her will.

"Hi," she whispered.

"Wow," he drawled, his tone smooth but edged with amusement. "You? At a bar? Guess you're not as innocent as you look." A low chuckle escaped him.

She tried to roll her eyes, though her voice was softer than she intended. "Funny."

He tilted his glass, watching her. "Want some?"

"Uh… sure. I guess."
