"What? Weren't you going for a ride?" Harper asked, still trying to catch up with what was happening.

"And can't a person change their mind?" Damian replied smoothly. Without waiting for her answer, he slipped his hands back into his pockets and began walking straight toward the pulsing glow of the house.

Harper groaned under her breath, rolling her eyes. "Unbelievable," she muttered, though her feet betrayed her as she quickly followed behind him.

The moment they stepped into the party, it was as if the room shifted. Heads turned. Conversations faltered. Music thumped in the background, but every gaze seemed to fall on the pair walking through the door. Damian Blackwood, at a party. It was unheard of, and people couldn't hide their surprise.
