Harper lay sprawled on her bed, one arm flung across her face as if shielding herself from the world. Her hair fanned out over the pillow, a tangled mess she hadn't bothered to fix all day. Beside her, Tyla lay on her stomach, scrolling through her phone before bursting into another fit of giggles that made the mattress bounce.
"I still can't believe it," Tyla said, nudging Harper's arm with her elbow. "The hottest guys on campus, Harper. Not one, but two! And both of them kissed you. Tell me that isn't the plot of every fanfiction ever written."
Harper groaned, dragging her pillow over her head. "Tyla, for the hundredth time, it's not like that."
"Oh, come on." Tyla's grin was mischievous as she rolled onto her side, propping her chin on her palm. "Do you know how many girls would kill to be you right now? You're literally in a love triangle. A juicy, campus-famous, gossip-page-worthy love triangle."
