Chapter 112 - I’m Not Logan

A pale beam of sunlight filtered through the high arched windows, casting golden lines across the polished wooden tables in the library.The faint rustle of pages and the distant hum of the air conditioner were the only sounds that filled the room.

Harper sat near the back, in her favorite corner — the one hidden between two tall shelves stacked with old books. She had a novel in her hand, but her eyes weren't really on the words. They drifted over the lines without meaning. Her mind was somewhere else — tangled in the mess of thoughts about her father, the secrets she couldn't quite piece together, and the faint unease that had been gnawing at her for days.

She sighed softly, closing the book halfway, her fingers tapping against the cover. Maybe she was just imagining things. Maybe her dad had a reason for acting strange lately. But then again…

"Didn't know you were a historical romance girl," a voice drawled lightly.
