Amelia sat on the bed of the separate room she was given and looked at the clock on the wall with an expectant gaze.
According to what she knew, she would turn eighteen right after 5:35 pm.
It was already 5:30 pm.
Her nerves were all over the place as she remembered her father's words about how she might find her wolf on her birthday.
Time passed. The clock ticked at 5:35 and then 6:35. Amelia kept waiting, eagerly looking at her mark, hoping for a signal or some kind of weird feeling in her mind or chest.
However, nothing changed.
Disappointment flashed on her face, and she kicked the carpet in frustration. Why did she even expect that she would get her wolf immediately, like those lucky girls? It was beyond her.
She shook her head and was about to switch off the lights to go to sleep, not in the mood to interact with anyone and risk worsening her mood, when she remembered something—Grayson's demise on her birthday.
She gulped, unsure.
