EP.89 [Brother Eugene Schneider Discovers His Sister's Dark Behavior.]

"You don't know how much I cherish and love you, Elisabeth. I remember every time you held my hand as a child 2,332 times."

Eugene spent precious time with his sister Elisabeth, but it was shorter than expected, leaving him with deep regret. He expressed his boundless love for her sincerely.

Indeed, Eugene wasn't an ordinary person. He remembered the number of times Elisabeth held his hand as a child. Even boasting about it was unusual.

"Wow! You remember that? How romantic of you, brother... Exactly 2,332 times. 1,500 times with my left hand and 732 times with my right. I'm left-handed, you see."

Eugene's peculiarity was proven, and it was Elisabeth, with her genius-level intellect, who confirmed it. She had counted the instances by entwining her fingers with Eugene's and accurately extracted the information to verify his claim.

Most people would find Eugene's memory frightening, but Elisabeth was touched, as if her preferences had been hit on.

"Do I really need to accompany you to where the Academy's carriage will arrive?"

Eugene dressed up because Elisabeth's carriage was coming to the Pangaea fountain square. He wanted to see her off there, but Elisabeth asked him to escort her only to the front of the estate.

"I have a meeting with Sister Jeanne at the fountain square before heading to the Academy. I'd like to go alone. Did you and Jeanne fight again?"

There was a good reason for this. Elisabeth had to return earlier than expected and sent a quick letter to her second sister, Jeanne, informing her of the situation.

Jeanne was surprised and immediately made plans to meet Elisabeth. Although Jeanne felt embarrassed about seeing Elisabeth after having sex with Eugene, she couldn't bear to let her only sister leave without meeting her.

So, they compromised on meeting without Eugene. However, Elisabeth didn't know the background and thought Jeanne and Eugene might have argued like they used to as children.

"Haha! Jeanne and I are adults now; we wouldn't behave like that. She just wants to focus on talking with you since it's been a while."

Meanwhile, Eugene used his smooth tongue to justify Jeanne's choice of meeting style.

"Hmm... I trust everything you say, brother, but I'm not sure about this."

However, the justification lacked credibility because Jeanne and Eugene's behavior in front of Elisabeth had been chaotic when they were young. They would fight and make up multiple times a day.

"Please be kind to Sister Jeanne too, brother. She really cares about you."

Elisabeth, who had always been devoted to Eugene, asked him to be nice to Jeanne without knowing the real situation between them. She genuinely believed Eugene was taking good care of Jeanne.

"Don't worry, Elisabeth. You don't know, but I'm treating Jeanne very well. She's never disappointed."

Eugene, who was intimately involved with Jeanne, expressed his confidence with a natural tone and expression.

"Ah, I see? The Tower of Magic is cooperating with the Sacred Order and the Knights' Guild regarding monster-related matters?"

Elisabeth finished her preparations to leave and began walking along the garden path outside the Oblean estate. Eugene, carrying her heavy luggage, responded seriously to their conversation.

The reason the Tower of Magic urgently summoned Elisabeth, a top-tier genius magician, was related to monsters. It involved a collaboration between the Knights' Guild, the Sacred Order, and the Tower.

"Yes, brother. I suppose they need me because I have connections with both the Knights' Guild and the Sacred Order."

Elisabeth nodded in agreement with Eugene's reaction. Even though she was a genius, there wasn't a strong reason for the Tower to recall her so quickly. The Tower trusted Elisabeth, but openly showing it could hurt the pride of more experienced magicians.

However, this situation didn't require such considerations. With her father as the de facto leader of the Knights' Guild and her sister as a key nun in the Sacred Order, Elisabeth was chosen to achieve results that would honor the Tower in matters involving the Knights' Guild and the Sacred Order.

"Hmm... It seems our family is now entangled in the changes happening in Gaia."

Eugene pondered the situation. The increase in monsters on the Peldon continent had once seemed like someone else's problem when he was on his pilgrimage. Now, his family members were all involved. Antoine was controlling the situation as the Empire's top authority, Marienne and Charlotte were in areas affected by diseases related to monsters, and Eugene and Jeanne had encountered the Red-Haired Witch Goblin as mercenaries. Now, even Elisabeth was involved as part of the Tower's representative group.

"What's wrong, brother? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Elisabeth asked when Eugene gazed at her with concern.

"It's just that I've heard things from Charlotte, and I've experienced them myself as a mercenary. I worry about you because, to me, you're still the little Elisabeth from childhood."

Despite being only a year apart, Elisabeth was still just a little sister to Eugene. As she became involved in the Empire's significant affairs, Eugene worried about her as a brother. No matter how talented she was, in his eyes, she remained the little girl who used to follow him around.

"Haha! Elisabeth is already a renowned magician on the continent and will become the best in the future. You don't need to worry, brother."

Elisabeth reassured Eugene with a smile, telling him not to worry.

"For me, your support means more than your worries. Please look at me with that kind of heart, brother."

She expressed her gratitude by holding Eugene's hand tightly.

"Ah, our Elisabeth has really grown up. I used to think of her only as the little girl who would follow me around."

Eugene was impressed by Elisabeth's maturity and depth. He had always seen her as the quirky girl who wore a wig and followed him, but now he realized she was an adult.

As the older brother by just one year, Eugene felt like a proud father seeing his well-grown daughter.

"Brother, please give me that luggage. I've told you many times that I don't want you to carry it just because I'm your sister."

Elisabeth looked at the large luggage Eugene was carrying with a hint of discomfort. She had always matched her level with Eugene's, but carrying her luggage felt awkward, partly due to Eugene's past frailty.

"Ah, it's not because you're a girl or my sister. It's because I love and care for you. I'm not this affectionate with other women."

Eugene always said that he did these things only for Elisabeth. In the past, he had relied on Marienne or Charlotte, but for Elisabeth, he felt a special affection, like she was his daughter.

"And look, I'm much stronger now. Not at all tired. See this? Like this!"

*Thud! Thud! Thud!*

Eugene demonstrated his strength by handling Elisabeth's heavy luggage like dumbbells, trying to show that helping her was effortless.

However, he might have shown off too much.

*Clunk!*

The main lock of the luggage was subjected to excessive pressure and opened, spilling Elisabeth's belongings onto the garden path.

"Oh no!"

*Rustle! Rustle!*

As Elisabeth's items scattered, she calmly began to gather them.

"Don't worry, brother. I'll take care of it."

Elisabeth reassured Eugene, who was flustered.

"I'll help too, Elisabeth. I can handle things like towels."

Eugene quickly sat down to assist, still looking flustered.

"It's okay, really... You don't need to help."

Elisabeth waved her hand, indicating that Eugene shouldn't worry about helping. The feeling was neither a clear rejection nor acceptance.

If Elisabeth had firmly refused, Eugene would have stopped, given his genuine concern for her. However, since her belongings were personal, Eugene continued to help, smiling as he thought this moment would become a memory.

But soon, his expression changed to one of surprise.

"Huh?"

He doubted his own eyes.

"Is that... panties?"

Among Elisabeth's scattered belongings, he saw something familiar a pair of white panties.
