Nicolas stood impatiently leaning on a railing looking over Kingcross station waiting for the late Hagrid to drop off the boy who lived "Now Harry I'm going to have to leave you with a friend of mine called Nicolas he's a first-year like you and he'll be helping you to get to the train" Nicolas heard hagrid explain to someone as he looked around he saw the large man and a small, skinny looking boy with messy raven black hair and emerald green eyes with round glasses to accompany them the boy had with him a snow owl most likely a gift from hagrid and his trunks all in a cart for Nicolas, McGonagall had already taken his belongings with him and left him with a trunk that contained only a few items like his uniform and a few books as well as some food and gellions if he needs anything.
Nicolas waved and called towards Hagrid "Hagrid over here" and Hagrid noticing him waved "Hello Nicolas this here is Harry Potter now Harry I've gotta go to deliver Domboldor his package so I'll leave you with Nicolas" Hagrid told Harry "Bye Hagrid thank you again" Harry told him and Nicolas simply waved. Nicolas and Harry stood for a moment in silence till Nicolas broke it "Hello Harry I'm Nicolas I'm a first year as well If you'll follow me I'll take you to the train" he explained to Harry as he started to walk towards the barrier for the platform "so you are a wizard as well can you tell Me what Hogwarts like" Harry asked "it's great trust me Harry, you'll love it but right now let's get to the train I'll explain about Hogwarts when we get on the train" Nicolas cut the conversation short he needed to be focused right now and not let anything get past him.
He was high alert and looked around as he walked through the crowd of muggles in Kingcross next to Harry "Now when we arrives at the barrier between platforms nine and ten you need to run Into the wall going through to the other side, wait for me there I'll be right behind you" Nicolas explain as he reached the barrier for the platform "after you" he instructed Harry who looked at him for a second before heading in the barrier "muggle raised" Nicolas said shaking his head heading in himself "great isn't she" Nicolas asked Harry who was looking at the Hogwarts Express "yeah it is" Harry said as Nicolas started to walk "come along Harry the train would be leaving shortly" he told him as Harry raced to catch up after Nicolas.
They both get on the train and start looking for a compartment on their search Nicolas notices a batch of bushy brown hair and instantly knows who it belongs to he approaches the compartment and knocks waiting for the door to open. Hermione opens it not long after and was surprised to see Nicolas "Nicolas I wasn't expecting to see you here what can I do for you" she asked him "Hermione it's great to see you again could me and my friend Harry join you in this compartment" he asked nicely see Nicolas didn't like to admit it but he was very cunning and knew how to get his way with words but has the force to back it up what he lacked in numbers he made up for in strength not on the level of the professors at Hogwarts he could easily beat most of the students at Hogwarts at magic.
She was stunned for a moment before she spoke again "Sure come in I was just reading the book and standard spells and I do have some questions" Hermione was a Ravenclaw for sure Nicolas thought Harry on the other hand, might be a Gryffindor like his parents or maybe a Slytherin. he looked, smiled and walked into the compartment with harry following him closing the door behind him he left Harry with his luggage and got a book out himself it was one of McGonagall's personal journal on Transfiguration he was surprised at her notes on the matter and couldn't wait for her lesson know it would start off small for the others to catch up but for him, he knew this year wasn't for him to learn much it's always good to go over the basics again to freshen up your skills but for Nicolas, he knew this year was on Harry's protection.
Hermione was asking question after question, and Nicolas had an answer for everyone she asked. It amazed Harry that Nicolas, maybe a first year, had an understanding of magic that was clearly far greater than he appeared to show. "Nicolas" Harry started, unsure of how to say it "How do you know so much about magic?" Hermione also wondered about Nicolas, who appeared as a first-year but had knowledge that rivalled a fifth or sixth-year. "Easy, I learned it from my magical guardian, who also happens to be our Transfiguration professor McGonagall" Nicolas stated to them. Harry was surprised by this he never knew that Nicolas was raised by a professor but Hermione on the other hand already knew about Nicolas and McGonagall's arrangements.
The train ride was interesting for them all as Nicolas wanted them to be repaired suggested to the both of them "if you both would like I can teach you some of the basic spells before you arrive at Hogwarts" Hermione smiled "yes if you don't mind" she went shy again Nicolas noticed this but didn't comment on this he'll just ask McGonagall about this when he sees her after the sorting ceremony. Harry soon replied knocking Nicolas out of his mind "I would like to know some spells aswell please I think it would help" Nicolas noticed this about Harry he can sense a strong magical auror coming from him and Hermione he could see that her magic auror still a stong magical auror needs time to still build and develop.
Nicolas smiled at this and for most of there ride it was filled with them learning some spells from Nicolas who to there surprise was a decent teacher he was explaining to them about the uses of the unlocking charm "Alohomora the unlocking charm is used for unlocking an lock for example my case it's locked but with the wand moment we just practice and the incantation you'll get this" Nicolas told them as he painted the wand at the lock on the case "alohomora" he chanted as the case clicked open "you see it's easy once you first get it after that you can unlock pretty much anything mind you the harder the lock the more magic the spell requires" he told them as they both looked on in deep thought as Hermione got up to try first and Nicolas locking his case back up so she can try "alohomora" she casted wand pointed at the lock as it moved but didn't unlock "that's it Hermione visualise the lock opening for you in your mind" Nicolas instructed her "opening in my mind" she repeated closing her eyes visualising the very thing Nicolas suggested before she opened them and spoke confidently "alohomora" the case lock clicked open.
Hermione giggled in surprise "thank you Nicolas so spell casting is it all about visualising what you want in you mind" Hermione asked and Nicolas like always had a reply "more or less its the basic fundamental of spell casting but once you have that mastered you can practice casting the spell each incantation make it faster then the last one" he told her as both her and Harry had more questions then answers "however thus ends are private lesson we'll be arriving at Hogwarts soon so we best put are robes on" Nicolas told them and with them waiting outside for Hermione to change first before they swapped and Hermione waited whiles both Harry and Nicolas changed into there robes.
Once they was all done and finished they all went to there own things Harry looking at his chocolate frog card he just opened and both Hermione and Nicolas reading there own books "what you both reading" Harry asked intrusted if he to should look at his hogwarts books "I'm reading Hogwarts-A history"
Hermione informed him Nicolas didn't respond clearly indeed with his book "I haven't got a clue what he's reading I've not seen a book like that in are required books" she Informed Harry again. He looked at Hermione and asked her "do you have a book I could borrow I left mine in my trunks" he explained nicely to her Hermione huffed before getting another book out "here it's are potions book I've finished it so you can borrow till we get to hogwarts" she strongly told him passing the book to him before continuing to read her book.
