It was late at night, and the Going Merry was drifting quietly on the sea. Most of the Straw Hats were sound asleep; a peaceful night on the Grand Line was a rare and treasured thing. Ikki, however, was on the deck alone. He heard a noise and looked up to see Robin, who had been reading, come over with two cups of coffee.
"What's wrong? It's such a peaceful night; why aren't you getting some sleep?" she asked.
Ikki smiled. "It's not as peaceful as I thought."
Just as he finished speaking, a strange, flute-like sound echoed across the water. Everyone sleeping on the ship lost their most precious memories: those of their recent adventures.
"What is that?" Robin asked, her curiosity piqued. "Is it some kind of musical instrument?"
"No," Ikki said, shaking his head. A breeze began to swirl around him. The information from his crew told him that whatever was devouring their memories was under the ship. Ikki dove into the sea, with a bubble of air forming around him, courtesy of the wind.
"There it is."
He quickly found a seahorse-like creature playing the flute, along with a young man holding it. When the seahorse saw him, it panicked and tried to force the young man to flee. But the boy was just an ordinary person, and he couldn't outrun Ikki. Ikki flew over a long distance and with a flap of his wings, he caught the boy and the seahorse, then threw them both onto the deck of the Going Merry.
At this point, the Straw Hats were still asleep, but if they were to wake up now, they would have forgotten everything. Ikki couldn't let that happen, which was why he had been staying up at night for the past few days, waiting for this moment.
"You've been staying up every night just to catch this?" Robin asked, stepping closer to examine the seahorse.
"Yes," Ikki confirmed. He grabbed the seahorse.
"Please... don't! I... I want to become a dragon," the creature cried.
"Oh? Does Jackie Chan have to sign something? I'll ask him to sign one for you if I ever meet him," Ikki joked. He then used his sword, Tōuya, to cut the seahorse in half. Instantly, the stolen memories returned to the Straw Hats. As for the boy, Ikki returned him to his nearby hometown, which was why the townspeople would forget the events of the previous day every morning.
After taking care of the memory-devouring seahorse, Ikki turned his attention to Robin.
"Robin, what do you think of the Straw Hat crew?"
Robin trembled slightly at the question. She didn't answer right away, taking a sip of coffee before speaking. "The rarer something is, the more you're afraid of losing it. I have a feeling that the day I have to leave the crew isn't far away. The World Government won't let me go, even with a private Marine like you here."
Ikki smiled. "In that case, let's make Nico Robin disappear from this world."
Robin was stunned, but Ikki didn't explain. He simply pulled out a Devil Fruit Upgrade Scroll and a face-pinching artifact, two items he had obtained a long time ago.
"This is called a Devil Fruit Upgrade Scroll. When you use it, your Devil Fruit will change. Don't worry, it'll be for the better."
He then pulled out a second box. "This is a face-pinching artifact. It can completely change your appearance. You can make yourself beautiful or ugly, whatever you want."
"With these two things, you will no longer be Nico Robin. What do you think? Want to try it?"
Robin looked at the two items, lost in thought. After a long moment, she finally took the upgrade scroll and opened it. A golden light enveloped her, sinking into her body.
"So?" Ikki asked curiously.
"It's incredible! This fruit is much stronger than the Flower-Flower Fruit," she said. Robin's body suddenly grew larger, and golden arms sprouted from her back. "This fruit is called the Human-Human Fruit, Mythical Zoan Model: Thousand-Armed Kannon."
Ikki was speechless. "Holy hell! Thousand-Armed Kannon is so awesome!" he said, thinking how Chopper's fruit paled in comparison.
The commotion on the deck had woken up the Straw Hat crew. When they saw Robin's new form, their eyes widened in disbelief. Seeing them awake, Robin changed back to her original form and picked up the face-pinching artifact.
"Hey, Ikki, what are you doing?" Luffy said, stretching his arms out and flying toward them, almost knocking the artifact out of Robin's hands.
"Idiot! Be careful!" Nami shouted, punching him on the head. She then looked at Ikki and Robin. "What is that?"
"It's called a face-pinching artifact. It can permanently change your appearance," Ikki explained. The crew was shocked by the news.
"Can I use it to turn myself into a woman?" Sanji asked with a nosebleed.
"Sure."
Sabo touched his chin and looked at Robin. "So you're going to use this to change Robin's appearance? That way, the World Government won't be able to catch her."
"And that strange change in her fruit was also caused by you, wasn't it, Ikki?"
Ikki smiled at Sabo's analysis. "That's a Devil Fruit Upgrade Scroll. It can upgrade a Devil Fruit once. Robin's paramecia-type Flower-Flower Fruit became a mythical zoan-type Human-Human Fruit, Model: Thousand-Armed Kannon."
"Right!" Sabo nodded. "Without her old Devil Fruit and with her new appearance, the World Government won't be able to track her down."
Meanwhile, Robin was already using the artifact. A light enveloped her, and when it faded, a girl the same age as Vivi and Nami emerged. She had fair skin and a beautiful figure, and her face resembled the original Robin, just younger. She had gone from twenty-eight years old to eighteen.
Seeing this, Vivi, Nami, and even Mr. 2 Bon Clay immediately rushed toward Ikki.
"Ikki, do you have any more of those?"
"Yes!"
"The slave family wants one too!"
Ikki was overwhelmed. A tool that could make someone younger was incredibly powerful, especially for women and even drag queens. Nami and Vivi weren't old yet, but they would be one day. Ikki remembered Oda's horrible sense of humor about what happens to beautiful women when they get older.
Seeing the hopeful looks in their eyes, Ikki shook his head. "Sorry, I don't have any more for now."
