Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : Colour of Grey

"Did you hear what happened in Kumbabi district?" Grey asked.

"Yeah, they say 13 children went missing in Kumbabi within a week," Rosie answered.

"What is the police even doing? I really hate pedos-fucking monsters!" she continued, her voice filled with disgust.

Grey listened, but something was goingon in his mind. They were sitting by the roadside,

watching as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an orange glow over the city. It was 7 PM-the kind of evening that whispered, Go home.

Grey suddenly stopped walking. Rosie turned to him, expecting him to say something more.

"Take care, Rosie," he said. His face was blank, devoid of emotion.

Rosie was surprised. That's it? she thought, waiting for him to say something more. But it never came. Without looking back, Grey walked away, parting ways in a way like he was sad about something. Rosie had expected a confession-something more than just a goodbye. After all, they walked home together every day, and Grey had never said take care before.

Still, she brushed it off and continued her way home.

Grey, on the other hand, lived in a small rented apartment while studying pre-med-something he found amusing. The moment he stepped inside, he locked the door behind him and headed straight for the bathroom, moving with an eerie urgency. His eyes burned with an unsettling intensity, as if they could pierce through anything in sight.

He pushed open the bathroom door.

Thirteen small corpses lay sprawled across the floor.

Children, aged between 9 and 14.

Not a single drop of blood.

They looked as if they had simply stopped. Like medicine had taken their last breath instead of violence.
