Chapter 3 - DAY ONE OF TRANSMIGRATION

Ryan woke up with a massive headache, sitting up in bed with his hands on his head and shouting in pain.

An old man sleeping next to his bed was startled awake by the loud shout and approached Ryan.

"Ryan, what's wrong? Are you in pain? Wait, I'll go and call the doctor right away," the old man said, leaving the house in a slow, laborious jog.

A few minutes later, the old man left the house, and Ryan's headache gradually lessened. He began to observe his surroundings.

Ryan was confused by the sudden change in environment, and as he started to think deeply, a sudden headache struck him again. Familiar and unfamiliar memories flooded into his brain.

Caught off guard by the headache, Ryan immediately fell back into a coma from the sudden memories.

Half an hour later, the old man returned with a doctor and showed him Ryan, who had a bandage on his head and was now asleep on the bed.

The old doctor approached Ryan, took his hand, and checked his pulse. He then told the old man that Ryan had lost consciousness because he hadn't eaten for an extended period.

Ryan was experiencing headaches because his head had suffered a great deal of injury.

"I will prescribe some medicines. Take them regularly to lessen the pain, and he will soon recover," the old doctor said and handed over a prescription.

The old man put the prescription on the bed beside the sleeping Ryan, searched his house, and soon returned with one silver coin and a few bronze coins as the doctor's fee.

The old doctor saw the old man return with money, but he packed his medicine box and left the house without taking the money. He knew that Ryan and the old man were the poorest people in the village.

Their entire livelihood depended on farming, and the fields were dry due to a lack of rain this season, which made life difficult for them.

Taking money from them will make their lives even harder, causing both the old and young to starve since no one hires them in the village.

The old man chased after the doctor and stopped him to hand over the money. After repeated requests, the doctor accepted 10 bronze coins as payment and asked him to come to his house after Ryan woke up, as he would then give the medicine for which he had just been paid.

The old man finally gave in after the doctor got serious and warned him that he wouldn't treat him next time if he didn't agree to this.

Then the old man came back home slowly and started cleaning his home as it would be morning 6 in a few minutes and after that, he started making some breakfast with the leftover food from yesterday's night.

He then made some vegetable soup with some vegetables and mushrooms which he picked up in the wild forest next to the village.

Soon, the aroma of breakfast filled the house, and Ryan, who had absorbed the memories, woke up from his sleep. The pleasant smell made him hungry.

The old man who saw Ryan waking up felt happy and he put his worries aside for now and sat beside Ryan and began asking him how he felt now.

Ryan saw the old man sitting next to him and knew he was his adoptive grandfather who had adopted him after his parent died from the plague which took half of the lives in the village.

His name was John, but everyone called him "Lame John" because he had a lame leg after falling from a mountain slope while scavenging for food in his childhood.

He had a son, but he went to join the army and never returned after leaving the village.

"Grandpa John, I'm fine right now, I just feel hungry" Ryan reassured Old John seeing him worried after asking about his health.

Hearing that Ryan was feeling hungry Old John asked Ryan to slowly get up and wash his face while he completed the food preparation.

Ryan slowly got up walked Outside and reached the tank where the water was filled to the brim.

Soon, he reached the chest-high tank and saw his reflection: a ten-year-old child with bright eyes and an attractive, small face.

Yes, Ryan is now a ten-year-old child who regained memories from his previous life after suffering a head injury yesterday.

Ryan cut a tree branch, used it as a brush, and carefully cleaned his face, hands, and legs with the cool water in the drum. He then walked back into the house and dried himself off with the cloth on the bed. Seeing Ryan return after freshening up, Old John immediately served him some soup and rice.

Starving, Ryan began wolfing down the food as soon as he was served and drank some soup. After eating, his stomach was full, and Old John ate the rest without wasting a single grain of rice.

Ryan helped Old John clean the dishes and then sat down on the bed, tired from the small task as his body was still weak from the injury. He slowly fell asleep while watching Old John do the rest of the work.

Old John returned from doing the other small chores and saw Ryan sleeping. He let Ryan sleep, closed the house door quietly, and went to the doctor's house to get the prescribed medicine for Ryan.

Within 30 minutes, Old John returned home and started heating water in an iron pot. He carefully took the herbal medicine, put it in a glass, and then slowly poured hot water while mixing it.

Once the medicine was ready, Old John set it aside to cool down and woke up Ryan. After the medicine had cooled sufficiently, he handed it to Ryan.

Ryan closed his eyes and drank the entire mixture in one gulp. It tasted bitter at first but soon became sweet.

Ryan soon felt the medicine working as it reached his stomach, generating a small heat that traveled around his body, healing his tiredness and sweeping away his sleep.
