Chapter 27 - Start of the Journey.

As soon as Ryan reached the meeting place, and met the village chief who was instructing the children about the safety precautions they must follow during the journey.

Seeing Ryan join them, the village chief instructed him to listen, as this would be his first outing of the village.

> You will all be seated in the largest carriage that can accommodate up to 15 children.

>No one should make noise during the journey as we will be passing through the jungle, and any noise might attract animals that could attack us.

>You can only get off for your needs when we stop at safe places. Unless we ask you to get off, you are not allowed to get off, even if the carriage stops suddenly.

>We will only travel during daylight, so be extra cautious at night and avoid leaving the resting place after dark.

After arriving in the immortal's town, everyone should behave properly since there might be immortals mingling with mortals. If someone dislikes our presence and attacks us, stand behind the adults and keep your head straight without looking into their eyes; we will protect you from harm.

The children obediently nod to the chief's instructions and board their assigned vehicle after saying goodbye to their worried parents.

As Ryan was preparing to sit with them to make them feel secure, the chief stopped him and showed the front driver compartment where the two of them will be sitting as they will protect them from front.

Soon the chief took the reins of the carriage, instructed the other guards to surround it with their horses, and looked inside. He saw the children talking happily and told them to hold tight as the carriage was about to start moving.

As the children inside held the carriages tight the carriage slowly started moving with the sound of whip hitting the air.

The horses slowly pulled the carriage and exit the village with the guards surrounding it from all sides.

Soon they reached the crossroad where one side leads to the nearest town while the other side leads into the jungle where the hunter hunts the prey and sell in the village.

"We will soon enter the jungle and travel for at least seven days, so I will say for one last time speak in low voice so no wild animal will attack our carriages and the guards stay vigilant." the chief shouted from the driver seat.

"Yes chief" the children and the guards shouted back in reply and quite down and the chief vigilantly proceed the carriage forward.

While they were moving a guard will ride his horse on the path to check if there are any ambush from animals or humans and send clear signal and wait for the carriage to catch up, this process repeated throughout the entire morning journey.

Just when they were thinking of choosing a resting place for eating lunch they have packed, the guards who were on guard sent an alert of wild animal attack.

Soon the other's left the horses in a good hiding place and waited for the animal to come and attack.

As they waited for few minutes a Cheetah with black spots soon came into their view smelling their smell, a guard soon drew an arrow and shot just in front of the cheetah as a warning to not approach them.

The wild cheetah soon located the carriage and the guards and growled angrily few times which made the surrounding animals flee from the spot.

The guards all were ready for the attack, but the cheetah growled for few more times and left the place by jumping into the nearby bushes.

The chief observed this and asked them to stay on alert for few minutes and then asked them to clean the bushes in their surrounding so they can have clear view.

Soon the guards took the scimitars at their hips and started clearing the bushes and made a place to rest for them.

Then they went too nearby pond and brought some water for their horses and the chief asked the children get down as there is no danger and eat the food they have got for today as they haven't got any prey yet to cook for now.

The children used the water the guards have brought to clean themselves and sat on the rocks they have gathered and started eating while seeing the surroundings in shining eyes as it was their first time in the jungle as the adults won't allow them to leave the village.

Next the village chief allowed sat beside them and began entertaining them by showing the different animals passing by and introducing their names and the places they usually stay and the precautions to take when they hunt them or escaping from cruel wild animals.

The children's listened with glee and asked few doubts while having the lunch.

Meanwhile, the guards remained vigilant while eating and surrounding the carriage, with the children eating nearby.

Soon they ate the food and disposed the food wrappers made of tree leaves by making a small pit and started to attend the horses by checking the food is sufficient and allowing them to have plenty of rest as they are the one who is doing the heavy work of carrying them throughout the entire journey.

An hour passed by, and the chief instructed the children to get back into the carriage and ask the guards to ready the horses until they find the next resting spot for the coming night.

Ryan too sat in his place after hearing the instructions and stayed alert for any potential dangers.

Soon the carriage started moving again and they crossed the small pond and disappeared in the woods.

As they traveled, they saw a few more carriage wheel traces on the muddy road in the jungle, reassuring them that they were heading in the right direction. They knew they could catch up to the convoy ahead and take shelter together.

The carriage unknowingly increased its pace of moving which made the journey rough which made the children uncomfortable inside.
