Chapter 34 - Ch-34: Lonely and Wido...wy?

He took one step forward.

Suddenly—

A delicate, slender hand gripped the back of his collar like a mother cat grabbing her kitten.

"Huh?"

He froze, still with a mid-sprint posture.

A sweet, familiar voice chirped at his ear, trying to kill him with the whole amount of it.

"Sweety, Where do you think you're going~?"

Tian Shen turned his head stiffly.

There she was—Feng Yin, all smiles, but her eyes gleaming dangerously.

Next to her stood Sect Master Feng Yan, arms crossed, with a deadpan expression.

"..."

"..."

Tian Shen instinctively tried to activate Storm Chasing Technique when system's prompt came up.

『Host is advised not to rush into your death, please look at your surroundings.』

"...Annoying system," Tian Shen thought darkly. But he still stopped his actions.

The surrounding, meaning the actual Ancient Sect Ruin, was completely wrapped in demonic energy. So much that it creates a foggy mist around it.

If he carelessly jumps into it, there's a very high chance that he will not survive after tonight.

*Ahem*

Feng Yan coughed, pretending to clear his throat as he grabbed their attention.

"Tian Shen. That area ahead... is saturated with ancient demonic energy. Even your sturdy body will have your Qi pathways reversed if you rush in like a fool. We will think of other solutions, until then, Wait."

Tian Shen opened his mouth to argue, but Feng Yin beat him to it.

She yanked him backward like pulling a stubborn puppy.

"Are you planning to die young and leave me lonely qnd widowy?"

"Wido...wy?"

Tian Shen muttered under his breath.

Feng Yin came in front of him, meeting her eyes with his. She was close.

Way too close.

Her breath tickled his cheek.

Tian Shen stiffened.

He could smell faint lotus fragrance from her clothes.

Feng Yin pouted dramatically.

"You don't want to accompany Senior Sister forever?"

"...I'm not a pet."

"Hmph. Pet, toy, fiancée, future husband, what's the difference?"

[A/N: She is not right... right?]

"..."

Seeing his rare speechless reaction, Feng Yin giggled mischievously.

Her fingers pinched his cheeks lightly, stretching them.

"You're too cute! Big Sis wants to kidnap you~"

Sect Master Feng Yan coughed loudly, face darkening.

"Feng Yin, stop fooling around."

Feng Yin winked at Tian Shen and whispered slyly, "We'll continue this later~"

Tian Shen silently decided to strengthen his body tempering art immediately.

...

Dragged back to camp in the outskirts like a misbehaving child, Tian Shen found himself sitting by the campfire, poking it gloomily with a stick.

Across the fire, Feng Yin was polishing a tiny spirit beast with a small cloth, humming happily.

Every so often, she would glance up and smile sweetly at him.

Tian Shen's expression didn't change.

But inside, something stirred strangely.

Not quite annoyance.

Not quite fear.

Maybe something more troublesome.

Love, actually.

Tian Shen, ignoring her, threw another stick into the fire moodily.

This woman was dangerous.

Not because she wanted to harm him.

But because she was serious about binding his fate without asking him.

...

Later that evening, as Tian Shen was trying to sneak away to cultivate, Feng Yin appeared out of nowhere, slinging an arm around his shoulders.

"Little hubby~ Since you're grounded, why don't you keep Big Sis company tonight?"

"..."

"...What exactly do you mean by 'keep company'?"

Feng Yin blinked innocently.

"Sleeping together of course! Isn't it common for close ones to share warmth~?"

"..."

Tian Shen Realized.

If he didn't escape soon...

His cultivation path might change from the 'Attribute God' to 'Feng Yin's Personal Bed Warmer'.

...

Tian Shen stared at the ceiling of the tent as he questioned his life.

Beside him, Feng Yin was busy setting up two sleeping mats.

No.

Wait.

Correction.

One sleeping mat.

And it was definitely only wide enough for one person.

He narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

"Where's... my sleeping mat?"

Feng Yin blinked innocently.

"Oh? There's only one mat~ I guess we'll have to share~"

Tian Shen's heart pounded uncomfortably.

Not out of fear.

Out of... an emotion far more dangerous.

Excitement.

Curiosity.

And a strange, terrifying tenderness he didn't want to name.

Feng Yin patted the mat invitingly.

"Come, come~ It's cold tonight. Let's cuddle and share warmth~"

"..."

Tian Shen opened his mouth.

Closed it.

Opened it again.

"...I'll meditate outside."

He turned sharply, attempting to storm out.

He took exactly three steps—

Before a soft weight crashed into his back, clinging tightly like a koala.

"Don't run away~" Feng Yin whined.

Her warmth pressed against him.

Soft.

Fragrant.

Dangerously comforting.

Tian Shen froze.

Feng Yin giggled against his back.

"Little hubby~ Big Sis feels lonely~ Won't you keep me company?"

"..."

He tried to pry her off.

Failed miserably.

He sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat.

"...Fine."

...

Tian Shen stared at the ceiling of the tent, dead inside.

Beside him, Feng Yin was busy setting up two sleeping mats.

No.

Wait.

Correction. One sleeping mat.

And it was definitely only wide enough for one person.

He narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

"Where's... my sleeping mat?"

Feng Yin blinked innocently.

"Oh? There's only one mat. I guess we'll have to share~"

Tian Shen's heart pounded uncomfortably.

Not out of fear.

Out of... an emotion far more dangerous.

Excitement.

Curiosity.

And a strange, terrifying tenderness he couldn't quite pinpoint.

Feng Yin patted the mat invitingly.

"Come, come~ It's cold tonight. Let's cuddle and share warmth~"

"..."

Tian Shen opened his mouth.

Closed it.

Opened it again.

"...I'll meditate outside."

He turned sharply, attempting to storm out.

He took exactly three steps—

Before a soft weight crashed into his back, clinging tightly like a koala.

"Don't run away~" Feng Yin whined.

Her warmth pressed against him. Her soft, fragrant, comforting aura wraping him up in an unescapable trap.

Tian Shen froze.

Feng Yin giggled against his back.

"Big Sis feels lonely~ Won't you keep me company?"

"..."

He tried to pry her off, But failed miserably.

He sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat.

"...Fine."

...

Under the dim light of a faintly glowing spirit lamp, Tian Shen lay on the narrow mat.

Feng Yin cuddled up next to him shamelessly.

No, Not next to him.

On him.

One leg draped over his waist.

Her arms wrapped possessively around his torso.

Her cheek resting comfortably on his chest.

He could feel her heartbeat, steady and warm.

He could smell the faint sweetness of her breath.

He could feel every inch of her soft, delicate body pressed against him.

And worst of all—

He liked it. A bit too much.

"Tian Shen," she murmured softly, her fingers tracing idle patterns over his chest.

"Hmm?"

He responded automatically, brain barely functioning.

"You like me, right?"

Tian Shen had closed his eyes as he whispered.

"...Yeah."

Feng Yin's body trembled slightly.

Then she lifted her head, meeting his eyes.

In the dim light, her pupils shone like pools of molten gold.

"Then... make me yours," she whispered.

"...!"

Tian Shen's breath caught.

Before he could process it—

Feng Yin leaned in and kissed him.

Soft. Warm. Juicy.

Tasting faintly of lotus petals.

He stiffened instinctively—

Then melted.

His arms moved on their own, wrapping around her slender waist, pulling her closer.

Feng Yin smiled against his lips.

"Good boy," she murmured approvingly.
