Chapter 44 - Episode Forty-Four: To Siphon One's Soul

She heard it first, a faint voice, so cold and deep, calling her name. Her lips parted, a sharp breath slipping free as her eyes fluttered open.

She glanced down at her sun-kissed skin. Her body was no longer clothed as it had been. Instead, strips of white fabric clung to her, covering only her chest and the space between her thighs, leaving her bare and weightless in the golden light.

"Wh-where... am I?' she whispered. But the voice that left her lips wasn't her own; it was now softer, stranger, almost echoing. Her nails gleamed long and golden like it was dipped in yellow paint, the same colour as the radiance bathing her.

Then a mirror appeared, no ripple, no single warning, just there, forcing her back with a startled gasp. Not because it had appeared, but because of what stared back at her.
