Chapter 231: Qian Daoliu

A fractured divine essence may still hold value for the gods of the Divine Realm, Ye Wen mused, and allowing it to fall into their hands would be a considerable loss. Such an essence, concentrated with primordial life force, was no small artifact; its godly nature could still be salvaged and used to empower another. For most gods, the divine essence was a deeply integrated part of their being if destroyed, the god tied to it would also perish unless they had reached a level of power that allowed them to sever that link and generate divine energy independently. This threshold was generally reserved for second tier gods and above, as it required a level of mastery far beyond the capabilities of a third tier god.

Ye Wen recalled that lower tier gods could absorb fragments of divine essence to replenish their strength. For someone like the God of Asura, who was about to venture into the unknown reaches of the cosmos, a broken divine essence could prove to be a much needed reserve. A popular theory in the previous life suggested that the previous Angel God might have perished at the hands of the God of Asura, given their conflicting domains. Yet, this was hardly conclusive; after all, it didn't explain why the Angel God's essence had been left behind as a legacy rather than absorbed by the God of Asura himself.

Most likely, the Angel God had been critically injured and forced into a cycle of rebirth, entrusting their position to a trusted ally to protect their legacy until they could eventually return for revenge a trust that, unfortunately, had not been well placed. This theory might explain why Qian Renxue's very existence, with her angelic aura, seemed incompatible with her mother Bibi Dong's evil twin spirits. Ye Wen speculated that only an external divine intervention could have suppressed Bibi Dong's darker bloodline, allowing Qian Renxue's birth to proceed safely.

Returning to the matter at hand, Ye Wen was determined not to let the Angel God's essence be destroyed or lost to the Divine Realm. But ensuring Qian Renxue's compliance was crucial; after all, her personality could make her as much a liability as an asset. If she was still a romantic idealist, she would be as unpredictable as an unlit fuse. With this in mind, Ye Wen extended his divine sense, searching for Qian Renxue's presence within Wuhun Hall.

It didn't take long to find her in one of the side halls connected to the Offering Hall. Qian Renxue, in her early twenties, was in her prime, radiating a beauty matched only by her exceptional talent. Her golden hair cascaded down her back, and her blue eyes shone with a clarity as vast as the sky. She wore a luxurious dress of gold and white, emphasizing her elegance and noble aura.

"To have reached Soul Sage level 76 at such a young age Qian Renxue's talent is truly terrifying," Ye Wen muttered. The Angel Spirit, possessing dual attributes of flame and light, was notoriously difficult to cultivate, especially in the early stages. If she truly was the reincarnation of the Angel God, her ascent to the Divine Realm would be swift once she reawakened her memories. Though it was humorous to picture a junior god like the Angel God challenging a being of Asura God's stature, human nature in the Divine Realm was still prone to forming alliances and factions, often favoring old ties.

Lost in thought, Ye Wen was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of another presence. An old man with long white hair and striking blue green eyes appeared at his side, clad in ancient, regal robes. The air around him carried the unmistakable aura of the Angel Spirit, laced with a faint trace of divine power.

"Qian Daoliu?" Ye Wen greeted the man, though his tone was more of a casual observation than a formal question.

Qian Daoliu's brows furrowed. He had sensed a faint but familiar divine energy enveloping the Offering Hall during his daily prayers. Upon investigating, he found a young man standing in the hall a man exuding an aura he had only felt in the presence of Bo Saixi, the Sea God's high priestess. However, Bo Saixi's lifespan had yet to reach its end, so who was this stranger radiating such a powerful divine aura?

"Yes, I am Qian Daoliu," he replied, his gaze sharp as he assessed the young man before him. "Who are you, and what brings you to Wuhun Hall?"

Ye Wen regarded Qian Daoliu with a tinge of disinterest. The man who had once been considered an adversary now appeared little more than a relic of a bygone era a mere mortal whose power was insignificant by comparison.

"Don't overthink it, Qian Daoliu," Ye Wen replied. "I've been observing your Offering Hall, as you suspected."

Upon hearing this admission, Qian Daoliu's expression hardened. Soul power surged from him like a tidal wave as he locked eyes with Ye Wen, who had casually revealed the secrets of his lineage and Qian Renxue's divine destiny. Qian Renxue's potential inheritance was an absolute secret, fiercely guarded even within Wuhun Hall. Yet here was a stranger speaking of it as if it were common knowledge.

"Calm yourself," Ye Wen said, pressing his hand lightly on Qian Daoliu's shoulder. Instantly, the elder's immense soul pressure dissipated as if it had been wiped away by an invisible force.
