Chapter 235: Submission of the Elders

Qian Daoliu was well versed in such matters; he immediately recognized the mark on Qian Renxue's forehead as the unique island blessing from Seagod Island, a gift of incredible power and significance. Compared to the Angel God's favor, which he alone had received in the Spirit Hall, this blessing was on an entirely different level of generosity.

Ye Wen often wondered why the Seagod was so successful only second to the five divine kings while the Angel God had fallen, vanquished by the Asura God without a trace. Likely, the Angel God had been far less invested in cultivating followers, resulting in a high volume of faith but of inferior quality. In contrast, the Seagod's devout followers, though fewer, offered exceptionally potent faith, leading to Seagod Island's elite worshipers.

Ye Wen noticed the envious glances from the six elders and took a moment to consider. These elders had reached the pinnacle of cultivation on the Douluo Continent, and granting them a divine assessment would be well worth the investment. While Qian Renxue received the highest level assessment with nine trials, Ye Wen only provided them with a lesser red level three trial assessment, but even that would suffice to help them reach godhood at level 100.

The six elders felt a mix of awe and gratitude, overwhelmed by such a substantial reward without even having proven themselves yet. Ye Wen's magnanimity significantly lessened any remaining reluctance they had toward him.

However, Ye Wen held off from bestowing them with god tier armor just yet. To be an effective leader, rewards and consequences must be clear. For now, giving the highest tier benefits to new recruits would be premature. Unlike the followers he had personally nurtured from their divine trials, these elders had reached their ranks through their own efforts, and they had a profound understanding of their own abilities, making them formidable warriors. Once equipped with custom god tier armor, these six elders would be as powerful as six second rank deities.

Now, if he ever clashed with the divine realm, they would give him the necessary edge, making them valuable assets for future conflicts. After sharing the news of Bibi Dong's ascension to godhood, Qian Daoliu broke into a cold sweat, realizing the devastating consequences had Spirit Hall opposed Ye Wen.

Relieved that he wasn't an enemy, Ye Wen openly revealed to them, "For day to day matters, you can consult Bibi Dong, who is now my third wife." The elders looked at him, mouths agape. This was truly the kind of leadership they could rally behind.

Meanwhile, Qian Daoliu's gaze held a trace of calculation as it flicked between Ye Wen and Qian Renxue. Noticing the evolving alliance, Ye Wen produced a grand feast from his spiritual space, one brimming with delicacies, and the group celebrated together, forming a bond of camaraderie.

During the festivities, Ye Wen also shared his background: a commoner who, by his twenties, had created an elite academy, founded a new cultivation system, and reached Contra rank before thirty. He had gained the Seagod's favor on Seagod Island and became the Seagod himself. His extraordinary journey inspired respect among the elders, each of whom was well over a century old and recognized the rarity of Ye Wen's accomplishments.

To the side, Qian Renxue watched in silence, her eyes alight with interest. Her years of intense training had hardened her spirit, but Ye Wen's legendary rise stirred something within her heart. For the first time, she felt admiration, though she didn't yet understand its nature.

With the feast concluded, Ye Wen assigned the elders a major task to prepare for the upcoming year. The elders, humbled and grateful, eagerly accepted. With all now in place, he turned his thoughts back to Bibi Dong, ready to discuss his plans further.

As twilight fell, Ye Wen returned to Bibi Dong's chambers. She greeted him with a warm smile, dressed in the attire of a gracious hostess. Before he could speak, she gently laid a hand on his arm. "Eat first. Let's talk afterward."

Dressed in such a homely manner, Bibi Dong exuded a quiet charm that left Ye Wen momentarily captivated. She seemed to know exactly what appealed to him his own taste for simple but heartfelt moments. Smiling, he joined her for dinner, savoring the warmth of the moment.

After the meal, they retired to the garden, where they sat in silence, watching the sun sink below the horizon. Slowly, a powerful attraction grew between them, and they surrendered to the moment once again, each consumed by passion.

As they lay together afterward, Bibi Dong rested in his arms, catching her breath. Finally, Ye Wen had the chance to share the details of his meeting with the Spirit Hall elders, as well as their newfound loyalty to him. Though she held little personal attachment to them, Bibi Dong welcomed the alliance.

Lost in thought, she traced her fingers over his chest and said softly, "Your dream is one step closer now, Ye Wen."

"Yes, it's almost within reach after all these years," he replied with a small smile.

"You could have achieved it sooner," she mused, "if you'd simply chosen to seize what you wanted."

He was silent for a long moment, then replied, "It's not kindness, Bibi Dong. I simply grew weary of witnessing tragedies. I want a world where human lives have value where life isn't squandered so recklessly."
