Chapter 328: The Douluo God Realm Era Part XVIII: The Age of the Gods

The newly achieved shared godhood was an extraordinary breakthrough, instantly elevating Douluo Star's overall power to unprecedented levels. This shift reignited the ambitions of spirit masters across Douluo, each striving to attain godhood as their ultimate life goal. With resources constantly flowing and a desire for new conquests, Douluo Star's rate of interdimensional expansion accelerated.

For Ye Wen, however, these external endeavors held little interest now. He had spent six thousand years developing the shared godhood system, a feat requiring endless patience and dedication. He was drained. Fortunately, by this time, his own strength had reached the peak of God King status, and due to the unique properties of his Vast Sea divinity, he was confident he could stand against any former God King from the Old God Realm, even in a one versus five scenario.

During these long years, Ye Wen also witnessed the arrival of his first grandchildren. Of all his children, only Ye Tianchen had produced heirs. His grandchildren, Ye Dikui and Ye Dixing, bore names inspired by the traditional naming scheme he had once devised. Though born into an illustrious family, they were raised modestly, possessing a refined and gentle disposition much like Ye Wen's own. They had impressive talent, both reaching godhood before the age of one hundred, with his eldest grandson taking on the role of Speaker of the Holy Soul Empire, while his second grandson set out on his own path to conquer new worlds, aspiring to recreate Ye Wen's legacy.

As he watched his grandchildren come into their own, Ye Wen felt content. His earthly desires had long since faded; he had already attained every desire and no longer felt regret. Now, he wished only for tranquility and cherished the possibility of spending endless days with his family. He had also come to understand that eternal life was less of a blessing and more of a curse for humans one that only gods, with no fear of loss or separation, could bear gracefully.

Ye Wen spent several years unwinding by relaxing on sunlit beaches, finally coming to terms with his newly found peace. "Bored? Well, I'm not looking to lose my life on a whim. If this world no longer offers excitement, then it's time to conquer new worlds!"

With a rekindled spirit, Ye Wen's perspective shifted from a solemn god to one embracing exploration. Meanwhile, Douluo Star successfully seized every former plane under the Old God Realm, establishing itself as the unchallenged ruler of this cosmic sector. Still, something weighed on Ye Wen's mind, an unsolved mystery hidden beneath the surface for years.

"It's been so long… Why hasn't the World Will or Realm Overseer appeared yet?" he wondered aloud.

Despite ruling over Douluo Star and its territories, Ye Wen felt unsettled by the elusive presence of a higher consciousness that continued to hide. Determined to uncover the truth, he spent a century scanning Douluo Star for any trace of this World Will, only to come up empty handed. Frustrated, he eventually threw in the towel.

"If the World Will insists on hiding, perhaps it has a reason to stay concealed," he thought. His instincts told him it was time for decisive action. "In that case, I'll make sure Douluo officially enters the Divine Realm Era!"

This new Divine Realm would function as more than a battlefield; it would become the heart of Douluo's expanding faith network, constantly gathering spiritual energy from conquered realms. Although this extraction method could eventually weaken the conquered planes, it was a necessary cost. Ye Wen believed he was offering these worlds a much needed order in exchange, certainly kinder than the parasitic reign of the Old Gods.

Still, this setup had its flaws. Though Ye Wen had decoded most of the Old God Realm's systems, building a new Divine Realm would take time. The shared godhood system took priority, so he had postponed the Divine Realm's creation until now.

"If the World Will does have ulterior motives, now's the time to act. Douluo's own Divine Realm is long overdue."

Through his grandson Ye Dikui, Ye Wen began issuing commands to mobilize an unprecedented quantity of resources. Though many gods noticed the peculiar allocation, they quickly volunteered once they learned that Ye Wen was behind the initiative. After all, he had become a living legend, and everyone knew that supporting his projects could only lead to greater opportunities.

Due to Douluo's advanced technology, the resource collection was swift, far outpacing the effort it took to construct the original Portal of Realms. Within just half a year, Ye Wen had everything he needed. However, he now faced a creative decision: Should he replicate the egg shaped design of the old Divine Realm, or forge a new structure entirely?

After some thought, he realized he wasn't fond of the ovular shape, which had supposedly suited the Dragon God's form as a primordial deity. Ye Wen preferred something grander, more refined something that would embody his vision for this new age.

After much contemplation, Ye Wen decided on a design inspired by ancient Taoist mythology: a multi tiered realm modeled after the Thirty Three Heavens. He envisioned a Divine Realm split into twelve layers. Only those who reached Tier One or Tier Two godhood could access the realm beyond its first layer, with ordinary Tier Three gods restricted to work in the field unless they reached the peak of their rank.

Satisfied with the direction of his design, Ye Wen moved forward with his plans, knowing that any structure could be improved and perfected over time. After all, flexibility and growth were the hallmarks of true divinity.
