Chapter 426 - Chapter 428: The Bond of Grilled Fish, Part Seven

Chapter 428: The Bond of Grilled Fish, Part Seven

"This relates to the compatibility between spirit rings and spirit masters," Ye Wen continued. "The higher the compatibility, the greater the benefits to the spirit master, even boosting their spirit power and the potential of their martial spirit."

This was a known principle since the first era of Douluo Continent. The most prominent example was the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon clan; if one awakened their Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial spirit, then their spirit rings had specific requirements. The rings needed to be at least from draconic or sub draconic beasts, preferably with a lightning attribute.

Bei Bei nodded in agreement, but Tang Ya's face had turned pale. The Blue Silver Grass line in Tang Sect had followed the spirit ring choices that Tang San had established. While some were plant type beasts, many were snakes and spiders. Looking back at the Tang Sect's lineage over millennia, Blue Silver Grass cultivators had only ever reached Spirit Sage or occasionally Spirit Douluo, but never achieved a Blue Silver Title Douluo. In a world with hundreds of Title Douluos, not a single one had come from the Tang Sect's Blue Silver Grass line.

Ye Wen's plain, factual analysis caused Tang Ya to purse her lips, then ask, "So, if I absorb a ring from this Blue Silver Tree, will it actually speed up my cultivation?"

Ye Wen nodded, adding, "Yes, it should help. Based on my analysis, it will provide you with a flourishing spirit skill that reduces spirit power consumption and allows you to summon more Blue Silver Grass. It may even purify the essence of your martial spirit. Your natural talent is already impressive for a Blue Silver Grass user, but I'd guess that your previous rings came from animal type beasts, right? That would impede your progress. Fortunately, they were just century level rings. If you start focusing on plant type beasts especially Blue Silver Trees it will gradually improve your cultivation potential."

Tang Ya's eyes sparkled. "Really?"

Ye Wen nodded, adding, "If you follow this path, you could reach the Spirit Emperor rank before you're thirty. With Tang Sect's hidden weapons, wiping out any third rate group without a Spirit Saint should be no issue."

Tang Ya didn't question Ye Wen's knowledge of the Tang Sect. Though it had declined, the Tang Sect's history remained entwined with the widely told tales of the Seven Shrek Monsters.

Bei Bei, pondering the Blue Silver Tree nearby, hesitated. "Sir, this Blue Silver Tree has over two thousand years of cultivation. I'm worried Tang Ya might not be able to withstand it. Should we find a weaker one?"

Ye Wen's gaze turned sharp, and he spoke with a trace of annoyance. "I don't need your advice."

Bei Bei froze, realizing this formidable figure wouldn't make such a recommendation without reason. He adjusted his stance, clasped his hands respectfully, and said, "I trust you, sir."

Ye Wen instructed, "Wait here," and walked toward the Blue Silver Tree. The air around him subtly shifted, his aura transforming.

Bei Bei and Huo Yu´er didn't sense anything unusual, but Tang Ya suddenly felt an intense urge to bow, as if facing a sovereign presence. Ye Wen, using his spirit mimicry ability, had cloaked himself with the aura of Ah Yin, the Blue Silver Emperor. This simple adjustment triggered a reaction among the nearby Blue Silver Grass, which began to stir and respond.

He approached the Blue Silver Tree, placing a gentle hand on its bark. "Emperor…" The tree lacked intelligence, but it responded instinctively to his command.

Disguised as the Blue Silver Emperor, Ye Wen quietly willed the Blue Silver Tree to initiate a sacrifice to Tang Ya.

"Huh?!"

Seeing a spirit beast sacrifice to her an act only found in legends Tang Ya's eyes widened in shock.

"Calm down. Step forward," Ye Wen's calming voice instructed.

Following his guidance, Tang Ya approached and completed the absorption quickly, thanks to the sacrificial nature of the process. Ye Wen also channeled the life force from nearby Blue Silver Grass, which strengthened Tang Ya's foundation and elevated her cultivation potential.

After a moment, Tang Ya opened her eyes, dazed, instinctively summoning her Blue Silver Grass. "Is this really my martial spirit? It feels so alive," she marveled.

Ye Wen kept his thoughts to himself, knowing Tang Ya's Blue Silver Grass indeed held latent Blue Silver Emperor blood. Whether this was due to the lineage left by Tang San or the evolution of the martial spirit over time, its potential was undeniable. Her spirit had simply never been properly developed.

"Thank you, sir," Tang Ya said sincerely, standing up to bow to Ye Wen.

Ye Wen nodded casually. "It was a transaction no need for thanks." He examined her briefly, noting her new spirit rank of thirty two. "Keep this," he added, tossing her a small item.

Tang Ya activated her Purple Demon Eyes, catching it in midair. She peered at the object in her hands, puzzled. "What… is this?"

Ye Wen gave her a dry look. "It's a Blue Silver Grass seed the essence of the Blue Silver Tree that sacrificed itself for you. Nurture it well. With care, it'll reach its former strength within a century. Your training environment, I presume, is a public site in Shrek Academy? It would benefit you to gather high quality Blue Silver Grass spirit seeds to build your own environment. The older they are, the more effective your training space will be."

Tang Ya was reminded of the little Blue Silver forest from her childhood in the Tang Sect's grounds. She nodded gratefully. "Thank you again, sir."

Just then, Bei Bei approached to congratulate Tang Ya on her breakthrough. Ever supportive, he held nothing but pride in seeing her succeed, while Tang Ya, in turn, felt relieved.

Satisfied, Ye Wen turned to leave. "Good. I'll entrust my disciple's care to you both for the next year."

"Sir, rest assured, we'll take good care of her," Bei Bei vowed sincerely.

Tang Ya, though a bit disappointed, accepted that the talented young disciple wouldn't be joining the Tang Sect after all.

Huo Yu´er's expression clouded as she realized Ye Wen planned to leave her behind. Teary eyed, she clung to his sleeve, unwilling to let go until he explained himself.

Ye Wen hadn't expected her to be so attached. While he knew the saying about daughters being like "little cotton padded jackets," he hadn't anticipated this level of reluctance from Huo Yu´er.

He gently patted her head, smiling. "I'm not leaving you forever. You'll be learning the basics and training with Shrek Academy, which will be more than enough. Be good, alright? I'll visit you at Shrek within two months."

"Promise you'll come back!" Huo Yu´er's face lit up, her tears replaced by a hopeful smile.
