Chapter 437: Mutual Introductions
Huo Yu´er gave Zhou Yi a disdainful look. "Expel me? On what grounds? Do you really think I'm some clueless kid who doesn't know her rights?"
She continued, "Don't pretend your word is law, Teacher Zhou. You can only expel me if I'm at the bottom of the class or if I've broken the rules which, let's be clear, I haven't. My leave request is legitimate, so just sign it already. Don't make me go to the grade supervisor."
Huo Yu´er placed her leave request on Zhou Yi's desk, looking up pointedly, indicating for her to sign.
Zhou Yi was furious, shaking with anger. When had students become so bold? They were supposed to be under her control, obedient to her every command!
"Hurry up!" Huo Yu´er urged again.
Classmates who had arrived early watched with astonishment. Many couldn't help but be impressed; Huo Yu´er truly carried herself with authority.
Eventually, Zhou Yi begrudgingly signed her name, knowing she couldn't push the issue further without causing a scene. She'd get no sympathy from her superiors if Huo Yu´er decided to escalate things.
"This is exactly as Master taught," Huo Yu´er mused as she left, pleased with herself. "If you're too soft, people will take advantage. Sometimes, you just have to stand your ground."
When she arrived at the food street, it was early, and the street was relatively quiet. She entered the shop to find Jiang Nannan already there, which surprised her. She had thought she'd arrived early.
Jiang Nannan, though, still seemed slightly on edge in front of Ye Wen. After all, it had been a rushed apprenticeship, and she was still adjusting to the idea of having such a powerful figure as a master.
"Now that everyone's here, let's get moving," Ye Wen announced.
Given that Shrek City was Tang San's stronghold, Ye Wen preferred not to draw attention. He led the two young women outside the city, where he took them up into the air and flew to a secluded spot far from prying eyes.
Despite being reassured by Huo Yu´er's presence, Jiang Nannan still felt nervous. She had lingering apprehensions toward men, especially given her traumatic past. But something about Ye Wen's calm, focused demeanor eased her fears. His eyes held a clear, unwavering gaze, free from judgment or condescension.
"Why am I so worried?" Jiang Nannan chided herself. "Master is a Titled Douluo someone of his stature has no need for ill intentions."
Ye Wen motioned for them to stop. "We'll speak here," he said. "It'll be a good chance for everyone to get to know each other."
Huo Yu´er was delighted to help her new friend become acquainted with her master.
Turning to Jiang Nannan, Ye Wen said, "We rushed things yesterday, so I'd like us to introduce ourselves properly. Let's share a little about ourselves, so we know each other better."
Jiang Nannan nodded, her initial shyness fading. After a moment's thought, she spoke up respectfully, "Master, I'm Jiang Nannan. My spirit is the Soft Bone Rabbit. I'm 15 years old and a level 38 Soul Elder. I like carrots and sweets, and I... well, I can't stand bad men." She hesitated for a moment as her face turned pale, but she braved through.
Ye Wen nodded, impressed by her determination. Despite her past hardships, she possessed a rare resilience. Her talent, too, was undeniable. She would indeed make a fine disciple. Smiling reassuringly, Ye Wen introduced himself. "I'm Ye Wen, a level 99 Control Titled Douluo, titled the Heavenly Traveler."
Before he could finish, Jiang Nannan gasped and covered her mouth in shock, while Huo Yu´er's eyes widened as if they might pop out of her head. Although she'd known he was powerful, she hadn't realized he was at the legendary level of 99!
Jiang Nannan knew well that the most famous level 99 Titled Douluo on the continent was the Dragon God Douluo Mu En of Shrek Academy. For a moment, she couldn't help but wonder if she'd fallen for a trick, though she quickly dismissed the thought. Surely, Huo Yu´er wouldn't deceive her.
Ye Wen, sensing their disbelief, admitted he might have gone a little overboard with his introduction. After all, only three known Titled Douluos on the continent had reached level 99. Scratching his head, he chuckled and added, "I realize it sounds unbelievable, but it's the truth. And well, words can only prove so much let me show you a little demonstration."
Ye Wen raised his hand, forming a series of seals with practiced precision. He could have summoned his power effortlessly, but this added touch was just for show. After all, it looked impressive.
"Domain Expansion: Infinite World!"
In an instant, the two girls found themselves in a blank white realm, empty and vast.
"Wait where are we, Master?" Huo Yu´er asked, bewildered. "Weren't we just in the forest?"
Jiang Nannan was equally confused. She had heard of domains, but this felt different from anything she had read about.
Ye Wen calmly explained, "I'm more of a private person, so I've stayed out of the public eye. This domain is a technique I developed myself. It's a separate space that I can control freely, entirely independent from the Douluo Continent. For example…" he gestured, "like this "
"Slaughterhouse!"
In an instant, the two girls saw a nightmarish reflection of themselves as if they were viewing their own backs.
"AHHHH!" They both screamed, caught off guard by the terrifying image.
Ye Wen winced. Women's scream attacks were, indeed, fearsome. He quickly restored everything to normal.
"Agh… that was… ugh…" Huo Yu´er, catching her breath, patted her head to assure herself she was still in one piece. She clenched her fists, her expression turning to one of annoyance as she stomped toward him. "Master! That was terrifying!" She began pummeling him with her tiny fists, unleashing her frustration.
"Ouch, ouch, ouch…" Ye Wen winced, enduring the punishment. Having spent so long in the celestial realm, he had forgotten how easily frightened younger souls could be. He would have to be more mindful around these two in the future.
Humbled, Ye Wen directed a gentle gaze toward Jiang Nannan.
