Kael looked beside him, his mouth slightly open in awe. He never thought that he would meet Jaden so soon, more so sitting beside him. As he watched him, his right hand which was holding his phone suddenly loosened.
"Be careful!" Jaden shouted, and his body jerked forward to catch the phone. As he picked up the phone before it reached the floor, he looked at Kael, and he still looked lost.
Jaden smiled, his brows arched as he waved his hands in front of Kael's face, "Hey! Are you okay?"
Kael still kept staring at him, but then his mouth closed and then parted. He then stretched his hand and collected his phone from Jaden.
Then he mumbled, "You smell like mint, and it's so immersive, I wish to snuggle myself up close into your scent."
"Huh?" Jaden said.
And then Kael realized what he just did.
'What the fuck! Did I just tell an Alpha that I like his scent!?'
'I'm not okay… what do I do…' He pondered in his mind as his eyes searched for answers. He just needed something to deviate Jaden's attention, but Jaden also seemed to be more concerned about something else rather than think that an Alpha liking his scent was unusual.
"Ah… thank you…" Jaden said, "I didn't quickly pick that up. Well… what about you?"
"Huh? What about me? What?" Kael shouted, startling Jaden, whose brows arched.
"Your scent, I mean..." Jaden said.
And Kael raised his hand up to form a cross in front of him as he said, "No! Don't!"
"Come on, there's nothing wrong with it." Jaden laughed and then he sniffed the air.
"What are you doing?" Kael stuttered as he asked, his face flushed.
'Why the hell did I smell him? What if his nose picked up my suppressed pheromones!' Kael berated himself inwardly as he hoped fervently that Jaden wouldn't find something.
As he waited, watching him, his hands sweated, his lips parted, and time seemed to slow down.
Jaden's lips squeezed together, his fingers touched his forehead as he brooded, then he said, "I'm not sure, but it's like you have no scent."
'Phew…' Kael's mind settled as he heard that, but suddenly his mind got alarmed again as he realized, 'If I don't have a scent, wouldn't he question why?'
Kael didn't think too far as Jaden asked straight away, mirroring his worries, "Why? Everyone has a scent, even Betas. What can be distinguished is pheromones."
"I… I..." Kael couldn't find words to say, but then Jaden's hands touched his shoulders as he held him, his eyes bright, frantically, he said, "Oh… I see. You're using scent blockers, right? Your scent is definitely oppressive."
He shook his head as he said with a chuckle, "I never expected you to have an oppressive scent with how you look, but truly, don't judge a book by its cover."
'How do I look?' Kael pouted as he reasoned Jaden's words.
Kael's mind finally settled after Jaden closed that matter, his attention deviating to his phone.
'Guess he finally has something to do, I can rest for a while.'
But that was just wishful thinking as Jaden dropped his phone and faced Kael, "So, about that Beta, did you get his number? Is he handsome?"
"Huh?" Kael mumbled, as he looked at him. His head tinged with worry, and he stood up from beside Jaden.
"I think my name is being called," Kael said, as he looked towards the register.
It was more like, don't talk to me, don't ask about him — and that's exactly what Kael wants, but he can't just say it directly to Jaden as that would raise more questions, especially when Jaden is so nosey.
And truly, Jaden was truly nosey and doesn't relent when someone asks him questions.
"Wait." Jaden said, holding out his hand to Kael. He looked towards the register and the line still formed, "No, you aren't called yet. Sit down and tell me about this Beta or you don't want to tell me?"
Kael sighed as he looked at Jaden, then removed his hands gently from him. He turned back and sat down. He sighed once again before saying, "Yes, I don't want to talk about him."
Either thank Jaden for keeping shut, or it was like his words also flooded him with more questions as he asked, "Wait… did something happen between you guys that made you feel this way? Did you kiss? Did…"
As Jaden continued pestering him, Kael just sighed and kept his head in his phone.
How did he even meet him again? It was through gaming, and he had always been so inquisitive.
Kael didn't have to keep his attention on his phone falsely for so long as their names were soon called. They both rose from their seats, Jaden slouching behind as Kael didn't accommodate any of his curiosity, and Kael walked slowly as he thought about how he's going to keep the world from knowing he's an omega especially when one man already knows.
Kael and Jaden's dorm rooms were soon sorted, and they were given a room number and keys, and were asked to come back tomorrow to complete their registration and all school necessities.
As they left the register table, standing outside the office, Jaden turned to Kael, his dorm room number in his hand, as he asked, "What dorm were you given?"
"Room 30, you?" Kael asked, the sun beating down on them so bad he had to raise his hand to shield his face from the sun.
"Seems you have no choice but to tell me what happened between you and the Beta," Jaden chuckled as he said.
"Don't tell me…" Kael trailed off as he looked at Jaden's number, and as though the world was against him, he was going to be stuck with his talkative and annoying friend.
"Just kill me…" Kael mumbled as he walked under the scorching sun to the dorm room.
"Goodnight," Kael said, as he laid on his bed. After they got inside their room, Jaden seemed to keep quiet as they arranged the room and put things in order. After they were done, they were already tired and went straight to bed.
_____________
Kael was sleeping peacefully, his dreams filled with how he was on a yacht on the sea, enjoying himself with his harem of men — one of them feeding him grapes, another feeding him wine, and one giving him a lap dance. He was living a nice life.
But then suddenly, another yacht came with Jaden riding it and suddenly collided with his. His yacht got dented by its side, a hole made in it, and water started filling inside.
One after the other, he watched as his harem of men dwindled, and at the end, he was alone, water almost taking him and as the water covered him whole, he woke up to a man staring back at him.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Kael shouted, as he stared back at the man. And his shout seemed to have startled the man as he fell down hard on the floor.
"What the fuck is wrong with you!?" Jaden screamed at him, standing up from the floor.
"Why were you also staring at me while I slept?" Kael asked back, shock still evident in his voice as he wrapped his blanket over him.
"You are such a very bad sleeper, like bad. You'll get killed and not even know…" Jaden said as he walked back to his space. He sat down on the bed and picked up his brush and toothpaste.
Kael looked at him, his brows arching in confusion. 'Why is he brushing? What's the time?'
He picked up his phone. '5:10 a.m.?'
He looked back at Jaden and saw that he was gone, and without waiting for him, he slept back.
After Jaden was done brushing his teeth, he came back and sat down on the bed, then took his face towel, cleaned his face, and applied a small face cream. After that, he used hair cream on his hair before changing into gym wear.
Then he looked towards Kael, "Can't believe he slept back."
Kael continued snuggling into his blanket, finally getting his peace back after being ridden of it, and suddenly his blanket disappeared and he found himself falling inside an abyss full of air.
Kael woke up straight away, frustrated because he knew Jaden must've taken his blanket again — just like how he took his harem. His lips were pressed together as he opened his eyes and saw Jaden staring back at him, but his lips released as he looked at Jaden from up to down.
He was dressed as though he was going for some exercise and seemed to be fuming.
"How can I help you?" Kael asked, his hands ruffling his hair in frustration.
Jaden raised his hand and a snack landed on Kael's head.
"Ah!" Kael shouted, his hands placed on his head in shock. "What did you do that for?"
Jaden sighed, then walked to his bed, took his phone, then said after looking at it, "You have just twenty minutes to get ready for exercise. I don't know why you didn't read into the first-year schedule, but we are expected to be awake from 5:30 a.m., and I don't even know how you didn't hear the bell ring, but it's been ringing since. It's to wake us up, so wake up and get ready!"
"What? Tell me you're joking…." Kael mumbled as he looked at him.
"I'm not..."
