Chapter 5 - THE DAY AFTER

"Blackx! Blackx!! Black!!" Levi called to him. Keita had overslept at home and VIP had come looking for him. He looked out the window and saw him. He quickly got ready and headed downstairs. "Did nobody want to wake me up" Keita told his mother as he took his packed lunch and headed off. " You were sleeping so peacefully, I just couldn't bring myself to wake you up" Mrs. Hummelstown replied and kissed him on the forehead. "Here take some lunch for your Levi".

"Didn't wanna wake up after our disgrace yesterday" Levi told him as the shakedown each other and headed out. Yesterday... A sharp pain went through Keita spine as he went quiet. He couldn't speak to her properly before she left. He had so many questions to ask her. "News has spread" Levi said, noticing Keita's absent-minded. "What News" Keita asked. "That the Conquests lost..." Levi went silent "To a new female gamer". That was going to be a talk.... but Keita didn't care much. "They'll get over it" Keita replied. "Aren't we picking up K.K" Keita said changing the topic. "Nah...he already at school"

Bloom blinked her eyes. Today felt different, maybe because it was her first day at the new school...nah it wasn't that. It was obviously about yesterday. Yesterday...The look on everyone faces when she defeated their "undefeated conquests" was generational. As she left the game club she could feel the stares. "Sensational" she mumbled. "What" Her mother asked. She had totally forgotten she was at a breakfast table. "Nothing" she replied. "You seem awfully excited today" her mother asked. "New school?". Before Bloom could reply someone knocked. It was Claire. "Ready"

Claire giggled, she had been laughing all through the way. "What gives Claire" Bloom asked. "Today's gonna be fun". "Cause of the game, yesterday...It's just a game, I don't think it means that much". Bloom said half-hoping she was wrong. "As I told you before...the games means a lot to us.....and you are just about the first person in a long while to defeat the Conquests..that means a lot".

They stopped in front of Crimson High, unlike before it was filled with students, alot of them. Noises everywhere. Bloom stepped out of the car, wished her mom goodbye and entered the huge hall.

Everywhere went quiet. "That's her" "Is she the one" was whispered around. The once overly noisy hall went silent. "Bloom Anders everyone" Claire said. Everyone was still quiet. Claire sighed. "The Girl that took out the Conquests" The hall erupted with voices. Everybody started approaching her and asking her questions.

Keita was with a group of friends. "The blood games starts soon" a red haired guy asked him. "What are your plans for selection." But Keita was already lost in thoughts. What are his plans for the Blood games.

Just then Levi came in. "She's here". "Who's here?" K.K asked. Levi turned to Keita who was lost in thoughts. "Your Softball".

"Are you gonna try out for the Blood games" someone asked Bloom. "What?" Bloom replied. "You don't know what the Blood games are" another girls asked. Bloom turned to Claire. "What is a Blood game....it sounds scary" Claire laughed

"The Blood games is a Battle Royale hosted event. The winner wins the ultimate bragging rights in the whole city and beyond as well as other prices in cash and gifts and sponsors. It is open to everyone not just the city and has an limited amount of chances. It was initially hosted by the school but because of how famous it became the school had to collab with the government to host this year. Every sect is to produce a team of five for the tournament."

"Seems like a big deal". Bloom asked. "It is" Claire replied. "Is that how The Conquests became famous" Bloom asked. "Unfortunately,No. The tournament has an age limit and happens only once every four years. The Conquests were underaged during the last tournament". "Then how did they get to be so famous" Bloom asked. "Well, due to high anticipation, mini Blood games are hosted every year. The Conquests has won all, beating the previous champions and the runner up". "The are the best team to never win it".

Just then the hall went silent. Someone was coming. Someone important enough to make everyone silent just by being there. Everyone began to make way. No one needed to tell Bloom who it was. The Aura he emitted was none she has ever seen. They respected him...no...these people love him. As his broad shoulders casted a shiloutte on her she already knew who it was before looking up.

Crimson High had only one king.

"Hey Softball". His demanding masculine voice said. Bloom smiled. "Hey Champion"
