The Old Chief's assurance completely calmed Captain Grandi's previously tense heart.
Captain Grandi believed that the old chief, as a tribal leader, should understand how much trouble their deaths would cause the entire tribe.
If things went wrong, the entire tribe would have to be buried with them, although Captain Grandi felt that the lives of those natives were far less important than his own.
"Chief, I am willing to believe in your character!" Captain Grandi warned the Old Chief outside the room in a plain tone: "But I also hope you won't deceive me! Deceiving me will come at a heavy cost!"
"Honorable guest, please believe us! Our Enthuya Tribe truly wants to submit!" The Old Chief spoke to Captain Grandi with sincere tones.
"Alright! I believe you!"
Captain Grandi put away his revolver, then slowly walked to the door and opened it.
