Yugen immediately revealed a card from his hand.
"I activate the Spell card, Card Destruction! Both players must discard their entire hand and draw the same number of cards."
Damon Taira sent his entire hand to the Graveyard with a scoff. "Started with a bad hand, did you? Well, it happens. But if your skills aren't up to the task, swapping your hand won't solve your problems."
As he spoke, he drew five new cards.
"You needn't worry about that," Yugen smiled as he also replenished his hand.
He fanned out his five new cards and quickly pulled one out.
"I activate the Spell card, Delinquent Duo! By paying 1000 Life Points, one random card in your hand is discarded, and then you must choose one more card to discard yourself."

Damon's brow furrowed. "Hmph. So, lacking the confidence to face my drawing power, you choose to sabotage my hand instead?"
"Discard the third card from the left," Yugen said casually.
Damon complied, pulling that card and then selecting a second one to discard. The image of the delinquent duo vanished along with the two cards.
"Next, I'll Set one monster in the front row and one card in the back row. Turn end," Yugen concluded.
The bystanders began speculating on Yugen's tactics after such an opening.
"A hand destruction deck, huh? I think I've seen Yugen use something like that before," Chumley noted.
Alexis nodded. "A deck capable of strangling an opponent's strategy before it can even take shape—it's very characteristic of Yugen. If this Damon really has mastered some 'ultimate drawing ability' like he claims, then this might be exactly the right counter-tactic."
Jaden was still grumbling, "Darn it, if I had just spoken up sooner, I could have been the one out there."
Syrus wiped away a bead of sweat. "Big Bro is still hung up on that..."

Damon shouted, "You think manipulating my hand can interfere with my draw? Against the results of my training, such tricks are useless! My turn, draw!"
"In that instant, I activate my Set card!" Yugen flipped his trap. "The Trap card, Drop Off! The card your opponent just drew is sent directly to the Graveyard."
"There it is, Yugen's Drop Off!" Syrus exclaimed. "This means it doesn't matter what he drew; it's completely meaningless..."
"Is that really so?" Damon's lips curled into a smirk, and he burst into laughter. "Allow me to show you the true essence of the draw I have mastered! The card I just drew was Despair from the Dark!"
He took the monster card that had been discarded by Drop Off and displayed it directly.
Despair from the Dark was a Zombie monster with a haunting, infernal design. It was a classic high-level card that had famously appeared in Chazz's hand back in the day.
"When Despair from the Dark is sent from the hand or Deck to the Graveyard by an opponent's card effect, it can be Special Summoned immediately! Therefore, I Special Summon Despair from the Dark! Rise!"
A pillar of hellish flames erupted into the sky, manifesting into a flickering, demonic image. It possessed purple-black claws, a hideous grin, and abstract horns atop its head.

"He actually drew Despair from the Dark!" Syrus cried out in shock.
Alexis looked equally incredulous. "To draw a card like that exactly when hit by Drop Off... is it a coincidence? Or could it really be..."
"Hahaha! I told you, my draw is invincible!" Damon was overflowing with confidence. "Use whatever strategy you want, but in the end, it will be dismantled by my perfect drawing power! Next, I activate the Spell card, Spell books from the Pot! Both players draw three cards from their decks. Then, I Normally Summon Infernal Dragon!"

"Go! Infernal Dragon, attack his Set monster!"
The face-down monster flipped over, revealing a large rodent.
[Giant Rat, DEF 1450]
The Giant Rat was crushed and cleared from the field. Yugen immediately pulled a card from his deck to search.
"When Giant Rat is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon an Earth monster with 1500 or less ATK from my deck in Attack Position. I Special Summon Pyramid Turtle!"

"Then Despair from the Dark, attack Pyramid Turtle!" Damon commanded. "Walls like these are meant to be shattered!"
The demon's claws lashed out, splitting the giant turtle and the pyramid on its back. The monster exploded into fragments.

"Now, the effect of Pyramid Turtle," Yugen said, fanning out his deck again. "I can Special Summon a Zombie monster with 2000 or less DEF from my deck. I choose this one... Special Summon Ryu Kokki!"
An eerie, chilling aura spread across the field. A massive entity constructed from countless skeletons appeared, every bone distinct and sharp. Skulls were woven together to form a twisted, gargantuan frame. Its eyes glowed like eternal soul-fires, and a wicked, evil grin hung between its jagged fangs.
[Ryu Kokki, ATK 2400]
As soon as it appeared, Syrus shivered, feeling the temperature in the air drop several degrees. "Why do Yugen's monsters always look so... unsettling?" he whispered.
"I see. Using a double recruiter loop as a springboard to summon such a powerful high-level monster in one go. Hmph, a clever tactic," Damon admitted, standing tall. "However, it is a shame it cannot rival my Despair from the Dark."
Damon drew two more cards. "I Set two cards in the back row and end my turn!"
He then pointed to his own monster. "During the End Phase of the turn it attacked, Infernal Dragon destroys itself."
Having fulfilled its role with its high ATK for a Level 4 monster, the Infernal Dragon succumbed to its own drawback, exploding in a burst of fire as it left the field.
"Then it's my turn. Draw."
Yugen drew his card and immediately played one from his hand.
"I summon Mystic Tomato."
[Mystic Tomato, ATK 1400]
"In Attack Position?" Damon frowned. "Such a weak monster..."
"I have indeed witnessed the strength of your draw," Yugen said, offering a rare word of praise. "Despair from the Dark... I really didn't expect such an amazing card to jump out like that. It's incredibly strong. To be honest, I don't have any monster in my hand right now that can overcome it."
Damon's smirk widened as he listened, his ego swelling with pride.
But then Yugen continued.
"Since I can't beat it, I'll just have to requisition it. I activate the Spell card, Creature Swap! Each player chooses one monster they control and swaps control of them."
Damon's smile vanished instantly.
