Chapter 298 - Chapter 297 — Another Reason to Work Hard

"What do you mean?"

Akane couldn't help but ask. She had given it her all just now!

"Forget it. If you don't believe me, that's fine."

Ranma couldn't be bothered to explain further to Akane right now. He too felt excited; the instructional match Ryuji fought with Akane had given him a lot of inspiration, especially since Ryuji's techniques and structure felt very novel. He couldn't help but start practicing them himself.

Akane puffed her cheeks in frustration and hurried home.

Meanwhile, Ryuji turned his attention to his real students.

"How much did you all understand from what you just saw?"

Ryuji looked directly at the Sailor Moons and asked bluntly.

"I understood almost everything. I was just a bit unclear on the reasons and logic behind some of the attacks."

Usagi Tsukino raised her hand and demonstrated a few standard attacking moves. She wasn't sure why she had learned so quickly, but that's just how it was. Just by watching Ryuji and Akane fight, she could understand what both were thinking during their exchanges, why they launched specific attacks, and how they chose to defend.

"Tell me about it."

Ryuji crossed his arms. He had hoped for some miraculous learning, given that Sailor Moon's power probably had its own methods...

Typically, transformation-based characters came with some inherent combat instincts.

"Well, I noticed earlier that you..."

Usagi quickly pointed out several specific moments. Just from listening, Ryuji knew she had genuinely grasped it!

He had originally understood these concepts by watching tutorial videos from various martial arts schools! While Usagi didn't use any professional terminology, she conveyed the core ideas perfectly!

Furthermore, judging by the questions Usagi was asking, her level had already surpassed Akane's in this short time!

Akane had trained diligently since childhood and constantly honed herself in practical combat. Although she lacked real life-or-death experience, Ryuji could sense during their spar that with a bit more growth, this girl could hold her own against Mai Shiranui.

After all, her body wasn't fully developed yet, and her practical experience was still somewhat lacking. But Usagi had done nothing but watch, and yet she had learned all this.

As expected of a Sailor Moon…

Ryuji muttered in his heart. Just by watching one instructional match, a complete fighting novice became a martial arts expert. He had only managed to master various styles and reach his current level by relying on overpowering stats, several instances of "genius mode" cheat boosts, and finally achieving a degree of comprehension. But if Usagi maintained this growth rate, she'd probably surpass him in just a few months.

Ryuji felt a bit... dissociated.

Fortunately, he'd gotten used to being overshadowed by geniuses since his debut, so he didn't feel too bothered by it.

After all, it would be foolish to let someone else's talent disrupt your own rhythm.

"It seems you've indeed learned something. What about the rest of you?" Ryuji looked at the other Sailor Moons.

"I feel I've grasped most of it too. It seems our previous way of fighting really had some issues."

Rei also found it incredible, but she began reflecting on the mistakes in their past battles. They had special abilities, but they always relied on them. However, these abilities couldn't always be activated instantly; some even required specific poses to execute. If they could suppress enemies during hand-to-hand combat, or discern the enemy's intentions and then unleash these skills, their combat effectiveness would increase dramatically.

"Yes, we seemed to rely too much on those skills before..."

Ami nodded in agreement. She also understood why their previous fights felt awkward. Recalling past battles, they always felt something was off but couldn't pinpoint it.

But after watching Ryuji and Akane spar, seeing them react and adapt to each move, and observing their various responses and transitions, her mind, like the other Moons', instinctively began considering the reasoning behind these transitions and their potential follow-ups.

It was quite unbelievable, almost like an elementary school student learning calculus on their own after seeing basic arithmetic solutions. But it happened.

"But those skills involve us manipulating various elements to form magical effects, creating highly powerful offensive moves. They require charging time, If we can accumulate energy while dodging, fighting, or grappling, we can unleash our skills without warning, before the enemy even has time to react."

Makoto chimed in. Since the only others present were Ryuji and Misato, her clothes suddenly transformed into her Sailor uniform. In the next moment, electricity crackled around her hand.

"What I don't really understand is how to accumulate energy during combat and focus it into a skill."

Seeing her troubled expression after transforming, Minako also instantly transformed, a sword appearing in her hand.

"Right... that is troubling. And also..."

She looked at the sword in her hand, then couldn't help but glance at Ryuji. Her sword was usually used to release skills; although it was very sharp and sturdy, she'd never actually used it to slash anyone.

"It seems you all understand what I'm getting at."

Seeing the two of them transform, the remaining three Sailor Moons also transformed instantly and activated their abilities. Looking at the various energies, which looked more like visual effects gathered in their hands, they all turned their perplexed gazes towards Ryuji.

They could use these energies and skills almost instinctively, but they just didn't know how to fight with them.

"As for that... you need a very high degree of control over your own energy and skills to achieve it."

Ryuji raised his hand, and a greatsword flew into his grasp, resonating with his sword energy. He then began swiftly demonstrating with the sword.

The Sailor Moons' astonishing talent was a relief, as it meant he didn't have to start from the basics. But...

This also means I need to speed up my 'conquest' progress.

Ryuji's eyes scanned the Sailor Moons' slender, pale legs, and a sense of urgency arose in his heart!

It wasn't that he didn't trust their character, it was simply...

If I don't settle things while their strength is still low, and they later find out I've slept with all of them...

Feeling the terrifying power hidden inside the five Sailor Moons, Ryuji gulped.

I'd get beaten to a pulp, wouldn't I?

Ryuji's fighting spirit was ignited.
