The whole move looked less like help and more like Leon showing off for Addison to see.
By now, Leon had seen enough to know his clansmen were holding their own. He no longer have the inkling to rush to reach them. He stayed with Addison and the others, pressing forward at a steady pace while his warriors hacked a path through the rogues toward his and Addison's position.
In wolf form, Zion couldn't speak, but he was cursing Leon in his head. Pulling a stunt like that just to provoke him in front of Addison?
Leon wanted to prove he was the stronger male, his action was usually the kind of territorial posturing Alpha males used to impress a female. Zion knew the game. He also knew this was a hell of a time to play it.
So he answered the only way he could.
Zion crouched low, claws digging into the dirt, then launched himself forward. He tore through four rogues in a blur, zigzagging from one target to the next so fast his afterimage seemed to split across the battlefield.
